Hi again 👋 Interesting to watch this discussion/information on excursions as it’s important to factor in how long it’s going to be AND the level of difficulty. What you think it’s going to entail and what it actually entails can differ. Good that Tui have detailed information to help you decide what suits you. It’s worth noting that if you book through the cruise to have excursions and you’re late they will wait but if you get a train or taxi independently and you’re late then they won’t wait! Make sure you have the correct sail away time for that day and double check there have been no changes to it for any reason before setting off if you plan to make a day of it. My Husband, Dave, went to Rome from our last cruise on his own (I knew I couldn’t do it) and under his own steam. On way back he got on the wrong train. Thankfully he checked early on in journey so got off but it meant he had to run everywhere to get the right train then bus back to ship. He looked like he was going to pass out when he got on the ship…just in time! Lesson learnt 😮Thanks Steve & Gemma

Great comment and detailed, we booked 75% of our excursions through TUI, the ones where we were not far from the ports we did ourselves. We like the reassurance that if late from an excursion the ship would not leave without us when booking a trip through the cruise company you are with. There are downsides to that too which are overpriced excursion costs, large numbers and shorter excursion times. But as mentioned there are advantages to. I think if your excursion destination is a long way from the port and you are not in port for longer 6+ hours then I would book through the cruise company, it all depends how confident you all 😄👍🛳️
