Charles had been pressured for many years to marry and produce an heir. I think people are too harsh to entirely blame him. They were so very different. She was young, not intellectual, a different generation really, and Charles statement ‘what ever in love means’ shows how differently they viewed the relationship. So many people divorce these days it is strange how people are so against Charles over this matter, it was Diana who strayed initially. But that was not the issue, they just had nothing to bind them together.
