And when I heard that she was mistaken for an Indiana or a Japanese woman, I tried to explain that she was from the indigenous, albeit small, people living in Russia. It is probably hard for a foreigner to understand that we have more than 180 nationalities and ethnic groups.

This is a Russian song contest on the similarity of "voice", it is called " You are super!"It is attended by children who have lost their parents, live in foster families or in orphanages. Diana had a very difficult childhood, but fortunately, she was adopted by a good woman who became a real mother for her!!!

you've come across another of the young talents I'm following. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure”, I have been following her for awhile. She is another very interesting story that you will discover.. Wait until you hear "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful. Her Russian fans are the BEST!

@@jamescurfman3284 not that it really matters, but Russia covers a lot of territory, in case you didn't know. A lot of which was once Mongolian. There's a lot of shared bloodlines between Eastern Russia and China, and lands in between. Just like a lot of Southeastern Russia bears similarities with Eastern Middle countries like Kazakhstan, where Dimash is from. HE is often mistaken for Asian for his appearance.

Diana had a rough start in life. Her alcoholic mother did not want her and abused and neglected her. She was abandoned at 3 years old. A relative found her and took her to an orphanage. A worker at the orphanage adopted her, and because she could not speak, sent her to a vocal teacher where she was taught to sing, so she could learn to speak. Now look at her!!!
She is 15 years old at this competition for orphaned children. She won the competition two years in a row. The competition is called 'You are Super'. She is from eastern Russia, but now lives in Moscow, thanks to Igor (bald judge).
Diana is amazing! She is a natural performer in every way. Whatever song she does, she gets into character and brings whatever emotion the song entails. She has perfect voice control and an amazing vocal range! Her background is from the far east of Russia. Some in her tribe practice shamanism, and she has carried that over to much of her music. Diana sings songs in Russian, English, French, Spanish, and German. She is my favorite solo performer by far! I know you guys love Dimash, so I won't say anything on that topic! lol Anyway, anything by Diana would be great! She just turned 17 on May 31, and she has an amazing career ahead of her.

Diana (Dee-ah-na) is a Russian girl with the ancestry in Nivkh nation of the Russian Far East. She just turned 17 on May 31st this year. She started to sing when she was 4 and a half y.o. Recipient of multiple kids' awards for singing, including Gold medal in China, she became super popular in Russia 3 years ago while taking part and winning twice the TV show You Are Superb ! Her cover of the ancient Russian folk song RECHEN'KA (My Dear Small River) had become true hit worldwide through the CZcams video. Her most recent international covers that have shaken the music world are Take On Me and humorous rendition of Havana, both recorded at her tiny home studio inside her room during the corona virus quarantine in Moscow.

Guys, the title of the clip says MockBa (pronounced as Moskwa). So, she lives in Moscow. But Russia a a large country, and her looks doesn't resemble that she is born in Moscow. So I searched on Wikipedia and found out that she was born in Arsenjev, which is part of Russia, but lies between China and Japan. That explains her Asian looks.
The title of the clip also says 15 лет (pronounced: let) which means she's only 15 years old at the time of recording! (I know a little of the cyrillic characters, but by no means know Russian. But Google Translate to the rescue! ;) )

The show is called "You are super", it was created specifically for children and teenagers for various reasons left without parental care. The show takes place on NTV channel. The jury does not turn because they evaluate not only what they hear but also what they see. Need 3/4 buttons to get to the next round, there are 4 buttons in the semifinal. In Russia there is a show called “Voice” and “Voice Kids,” Diana was a member of this show as well.

I think they knew her level very well and if they would have missed her in the next round, it would be difficult for them to give the first place to another performer, since she is a cut above them.
