👍🐿👍nice squirrel gun
Haven't had time to watch it yet thanks
I just want to point out that Scott ran this entire video with Hi-Points and not a single "you just got jammed".
I've owned one and as long as it's clean it ran fine. Damn thing is just heavy un unreasonably big especially for just 45. That being said it's better than nothing
they tend to do that
We're they ever known to be unreliable? Blowback guns tend to be very reliable
@@okgroomer1966 they had very crappy magazines early on. they have gotten way better since. reliability wise that is, round count still needs improving,

As a mechanic I'll never find it, because 10mm is always the first things we lose!😭
I feel your pain there, though with me, it's freakin' 9mm sockets I'm always losing! D:
With me it’s the 3/8 and 7/16

Especially those damn 10mm deep well sockets!
Never owned a hi-point, but I remember reading a review a long time ago that kinda summed it up by saying that with modern machining technology, there’s really no reason why a cheaply produced gun should fail. And I’ve seen all sorts of torture test videos since then, and none of them suggest that a hi-point won’t go bang when you tell it to. I know it’s nobody’s ideal weapon of choice, but it beats the hell out of throwing rocks.
I would own multiple hipoints if they weren't so damn fugly. I can't get over the giant slides....
@@BamaChad-W4CHD indeed, in no way can you “conceal” carry such a behemoth
well if you think about it, guns are just throwing rocks, but really really fast
I have never had an issue with a Hi-Point. They are definitely dependable. The only real drawback on them is how funny most of the models look 😂
The carbines remind me of the guns in Tim Burtons Planet of the apes
The only issue I've had is aftermarket mags. That's an easy fix.
I think the HP and Glock are similar in looks 😆
Dependable and weigh enough to use as a battle ax if you run out of ammo !
A burglar won't notice how they look .
The slow mo of the 45acp almost going through the gel but getting just barely caught was a million dollar shot 3:50

I love you how Scott’s opening was ashamed to have a hi point and in the video he shows he has at least two 😂😂
All jokes aside I’m glad that Hi-Point is getting better in quality while maintaining that low price so everyone can defend themself
It's probably way more than two.
He traded a stick of gum and three paper clips for them
@Brandon Munn plus, they've always been durable, if anything. Matt's torture test was very impressive for a gun of the price.

Now I absolutely have to get myself a 10 mm hand Cannon!
Hope you did get one. I preordered one immediately after they were unveiled at Shot Show 2023, and I have not looked back. After nearly 1,000 rounds, it still runs like a beast. Looks pretty good, too. Always have people asking me about it when they see me carrying it in public. Folks LOVE seeing a huge fkn hand cannon and talking about it.

Yes, they are big and heavy... but where else will you find a 10mm with an underbarrel picatinny, cut section for red dots, and threaded barrel... all for around the $200 mark?
Closest competitor is more than triple that price, you know?
And even better? They're legal to hunt with in most states if you're feeling bold, thanks to the barrel being just over 5-in long.
@@TexanWayBoy As far as Hi-Point? They only have the one. The JXP-10. I got mine with the threaded barrel so that I could legally hunt with it.

I have experience with a few different hi-points in different calbers /designs never had any trouble with any of them. Ugly, yes. Bulky yes. Limited capacity yes. Reliable yes
I had a Hi-Point in .380. Very solid handgun (heavy = low recoil) that my wife loved to shoot. It was great to throw in a truck box without worrying about scratches. Plus, not a single jam ever!
I've fired a Hi-Point chambered in .45 ACP and other than the weight, the gun never malfunctioned, and it was pretty freaking accurate.
They are uly as hell, heavy and have terrible triggers, but seem to be reliable and fairly accurate. I picked up a 45acp for something like $100 years ago, just to see what they are all about. I didn't keep it long, but never had a jam across many boxes of cheap ammo.
I think it's good that the market has an option for people who can't spend $900+ on a handgun.
I would make the joke that yours, since it's functional, was actually a factory defect. But I've never even touched one, so I'm just jumping on the meme of them being shitty. Zero personal experience.
I had a hi-point 9mm carbine that wouldn’t run a full mag without jamming. To hi- points credit they bought the gun back from me.

especially in bear country
Hi point is underrated for sure . I bought a c-9mm about 20 years ago for $80 it was my first gun still have it today and the customer service is great. They have there place for sure.
Man with a beefy slide and ejector like that, the Hi Point 10mm has no business jamming....EVER. :P Pretty darn impressive firearm right there, Scott!
Can we all just stop and appreciate how tough the rhino liner is ??
Tough it is, but a horrible thing to have in the bed of a truck when you want to quickly unload dirt or gravel. Or anything. I actually bought a drop in bedliner to cover it.
Yep - The Rino liner caught it, chewed it up, spit it out and caught it again. Tough stuff.
It's made out of rhinos so obviously it's strong

@@julesl6910 Awesome ! 🤣😅
My first firearm was a hi point c9. Ugly and bulky as hell but it shot straight. Also it was better than not having a gun. Great video, KB!
fixed barrel design hence they shoot straight by default! - And that huge 'cast iron' slide mitigates recoil. only other gun in that design is a makarov and much smaller, and snappier, and shoots 9x18. So slightly hotter than a 380. one of my favorite carry pieces.

I have a number of Hi Points and I can honestly say they'll never win any beauty contests, and I can't say they'll ever be accused of being precision made weapons, like some of the higher priced pistols I have in my collection. BUT, with a street price of less than 250 bucks, and an unconditional, no questions asked warranty, they're a great value. Loved the video!

A great advert for Hi-Point, not even a single malfunction and shoots straight
I bought a Highpoint 45 ACP from a friend at a very good deal.
Brought it to the range and put it through some Hell and she did not jam not even once.
I think it’s the big and bulky that people don’t like about it but it works.
Far as distance it wasn’t bad but for a affordable home defense weapon, you can’t go wrong with one at all.
Still have no intention of getting a Hi-Point any time soon, but! By all accounts, including Scott's, they've improved their product considerably in recent years. Hat off to them for it.
My first 45 was the Hi Point JHP. Very reliable, very accurate, heavier than a brick. I still like shooting it.
Decent but very reliable? Naw bruh it definitely fired 80 percent of the time the dam mag was the issue had to file it down

You can't deny the science. Hi Point looks like fun.... Cheap Fun, the best kind!
I appreciate your dedication to re-standing the predator every time 😂
That first .45 into the cinder block was interesting, you don't usually get a nice clean hole with cinder blocks, usually it either does doesn't break anything, or absolutely shatters it.
It's only science if you write it down Scott, otherwise it is just screwing around 🤣
Depends What type of concrete the cinder block is made out of. Not all sender blocks or concrete are the same.
Some 255gr Underwood hardcast .45acp+p would vary a lot from some 185gr hollowpoint.
Correction... It's not science unless the results are repeatable, you can write anything you want and call it science but unless some one else can do it exactly the same and get the same results then it is not science..
eg. The time someone desided to try to prove the theory of creation by determining the age of the earth based on sedement deposit at a set rate of deposit at a single location over a time frame, he concluded that the earth was something like a couple "HUNDRED" years old... Ya his "SCIENCE" experiment said the earth came into existance somewhere around the time the USA declared independance and "NOTHING" existed before that...
True story...
Results are scientifically "BOGUS!"
@@jackn2236 Pretty sure he used "science" in a tongue-in-cheek way, or as a parody. A proper context would have been the use of the word _physics._

@@SC68170 ik im months late but if you still don't know yet cannon is the name of one of the hi points
First handgun I ever purchased 12 years ago, still a great range gun
My favorite scene was the slow motion shooting on the cabbage. The reason I like it is because this gun is designed based on a blow back action utilizing the slide weight to keep the breech closed until the bullet leaves the barrel to avoid gases blowing backward.. And the slow motion shooting scenes show the cabbage damage before the slide starting to move backward, so Hi point have mastered the blow back design for the 10 mm - kudos to hi point.
My cabbages!
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
There really isn't much to master.
Just keep adding weight until it works.
Just to nitpick, it’s not really to “prevent the gasses blowing backward”
It’s to delay opening until gas pressure is low enough to not blow the case head off.
9mm peak chamber pressure is pushing the case head backwards with about 2 metric tons of force. Which is equivalent to the tensile strength of 0.5 square inches of solid brass

I use it for hunting and fishing and whenever I'm in a gun fight, and has never let me down! ROTFLMAO! Great and entertaining video my Kentucky brother from another Mother! 👏
I also use my highpoint in gun fights regularly, weapon of choice.
As a very happy owner of a Hi-Point JXP10, I legitimately use this video to show people WHY I love the big beast so much. One of my friends actually bought one for himself after talking to me and watching this video.
I'm amazed to see your progress over time. You're always improving your techniques, form and delivery and I think one day soon every table is going to land upright on the first try. In five more years you'll land them balancing on one leg.
Every time I see these Hi-Point videos, I'm actually impressed 90% of the time. I think its reputation may be a BIT undeserved.
We’ll they have put a lot more research to fix the problem. I say they should go after a little more expensive market and actually make something that can compete with other budget brands like CANIK and Taurus
About 98% of all complaints of hi points comes from the magazines, which for whatever reason the company has been slow to improve...the straight blowback design is inherently simple and reliable, although heavy...we have a new 995 that we are already liking, after years of debating whether to buy a hi point or not...now i'm ordering a couple extra magazines, so I guess we'll keep it...
You bet. Think as Hi-Point like the flat screen that is still bulky and blocky sold today. It'll definitely work for people who need one, no questions asked
Nah, they are ugly, bad capacity, way too heavy & made out of crap materials.
I don't think they deny that & they aren't really trying to cater to us gun guys.
What they do succeed in is being reasonably reliable.
If you aren't into guns but want something for home defense, Hi-Point is vastly better than nothing.
@@TheeabdielCanik and Taurus should no longer be put in the same category. Canik guns are now in the $500-$700. They are just as well put together as Glocks and Sigs.

300.00 for a high point is a joke. You can buy them all day on gunbroker and similar sight. Honestly they're extremely reiable;, but clearly wouldnt be my daily carry for obvious reasons lol
I have a Hi-Point carbine and it has run perfectly fine. It cost all of $315 and had fewer malfunctions than my AR that cost 2 1/2 times as much. The real downside is the low 10-round capacity and the horrible disassembly process. That's something that won't outweigh the low price.
For a pistol in that caliber, a Ruger Security 380 is a far better buy and worth the extra money. It's more compact, has better ergonomics, better finish, is a major brand and has more round capacity.
Hi Points look like someone made a gun from diecast pot metal and the grip of a child's toy pistol lol. Those tribal people in Pakistan make firearms that have a far higher quality finish than Hi Point has or even some KelTec guns. I even seen a anti-2A hit piece about some villagers in the Philippines who make clone 1911s from scrap metal that make Hi Points look like utter trash 😂.

Yeah my kimber 10mm jammed like that until I put about 220 rounds through it. Now it runs like a dream.
Ive picked up 4 new Rugers and only my 10/22 worked out of the box. I had to send the others in for repair mini-14, LC9s and I forget the last one.
Kimber is just wall art while a hipoint is like a fat chick on a moped. Both fun to ride until your friend sees you with it.
I swear hi point is growing on me....they might be top end heavy like a van but damnit man they're reliable for the price.and that new 10mm after the redesign really don't look half bad.i see they're selling for $219 so I'll prolly have to go pick one up
The high point is beggging to be converted into a 10mm mac 10
I need to learn how to print lol
Great video. I was just thinking, larger calibers like 10mm and 45 make more sense in a gun like a Hi-Point, which is huge to begin with.
Really appreciate your humor ; I could hardly stop laughing. Yea it was the highpoint! LOL
Hi-point is so legendary it's immune to CZcams channel strikes.
I’ve owned two hi points over the years and both of them ran flawlessly 🤷🏼
The Mayonnaise part 😂😂 " I have - Ayowhow OHH" Dude is mad funny. Subscribed!
Lmao the first few seconds are hilarious
I must say that thus Hi Point is a vast improvement over the older models as far as presentation. It still won't win the beauty contest...but I personally think it's not that bad! As a matter of fact I may even consider one chambered in 10mm.
The unadulterated throwing and flawlessly impacting things had me SCREAM laughing. Love the content brother, keep it up!!
What? No "WATERMELON TIME", or eggplants? Scott, you are slipping..😂😂😂😂
The best gun you could possibly ask for in the event of a gunfight is the one in your hand.
My first handgun was a c9. Not knowing the lore behind them 😂 hands down one of the best long distance handguns I’ve ever shot. Too heavy to have significant recoil 😂
Hi Point has a great rep with me. Almost indestructible and reliable with a lifetime warranty. Best pistol out there.
😂, I’m glad it worked for you, but “best pistol out there”…that’s a slight stretch
@HOG8541 I think that depends on how you define best.
Is it most reliable? Clearly not. Is it most durable? No again. Is it the best looking? I think so, but I'm an aesthetic masochistic.
Is it the best at fulfilling the the natural right to self defence for as many humans as possible? Maybe so.
Throughout history it was rare for a military to supply soldiers with the best possible weapon because that is an impractical goal.
Typically, soldiers received the most cost efficient, easily produced, and simplest to learn weapon that still functioned in a modern military setting.
Of course one might find examples to the contrary, but fancy, expensive, complicated weapons were never the norm.
Even today, with the largest military budget the world has ever known, the US military still considers these points when choosing weapons systems.
For civilians in the US that weapon might be the Hi Point pistol.
I bought my first Hi point new for $150 a few years back. I've seen them for less since. I could have gotten four of them for the price of a new Glock, or one of them and a couple hundred dollars ammo for training (which is what I did).
It is definitely not the best at everything, not even most things, but is arguably the best commercially available product at the primary purpose of a firearm; defending the masses against all threats to life and liberty.
If so, that makes the Hi Point a contender for the best gun in my book.
Best is quite a stretch
@huggleskuishy Your logic is impeccable : )
.... If you only have $250 to spend. 😬
They do look huge and impractical to carry , but for an inexpensive gun , I'm impressed with their reliability . I can see having that 10mm as a knock-around gun ,or even as a night-stand home gun . Wow ,I can't believe you might've just sold me on a Hi-Point .
They have their place. I have a .45 that I use just for mag dumping at the range and we all love it. Eats everything you feed it.
@@sixroldan6742 It's not like I need another gun , but if a gun seems to work and it won't break the bank , what the hell . One more can't hurt ......right ?
@@alexandermfernandez9283 Exactly right.
I don't think many will get caught carrying a Hi Point out in public, but if you want something to keep beside the bed and don't have much to spend,... well what happens in the bedroom should stay in the bedroom! 🤣
@@codygreen3429 I've got to agree . It's not something you brag about . The thing is that I already ready own (3) 10mms' (Glock 20 , 40 , & Ruger Blackhawk 10mm/.40S&W convertible) , but I'd like an inexpensive big bore that I can abuse and not worry about it if I don't clean it , or if it gets dinged up .
"IS THAT A HI-POINT" hahaha LMAO
My dad was in the artillery back during ‘nam and he was sitting on the back porch a few weeks ago while I shot my S&W .44 Magnum about 200 yards away. It was just beginning to get dark and I fired six rounds, reloaded and fired six more. When I got back to the house, he said it looked like some of those howitzers firing. He said that the flash from the muzzle was lighting up everything around. 😂
My first gun was a Hi-Point JCP 40 Pistol. And then I had an High point 9mm. Now I have a 995
(9MM) that is a lot of fun shooting!
get the bullpup conversion for the 995, it is so much fun.
