Breaking 100 Focuses in giving casual golfers the mindset of how to navigate a course.
I'll be giving you casual tips on how to think around a course and drills you can do that were given to me by my swing coaches over the years.
I don't have anywhere close to a perfect swing, but it's good enough that it's repeatable, mostly dependable and predictable.

I currently have a demo iron of the MT86OS. I will say I am coming from hand me down irons that my dad owned with senior shafts. The MT86OS have a stiff shaft because of my swing speed. What got me interested in Macgregor is that my grandfather played MT irons in the 60's. I took the iron to the range today. The mishits where a bit brutal on my hands since I am not used to stiff shafts , but I will say that when you start hitting them well........Incredible. They feel amazing and powerful. I am also trying out some Wilson D9 forged and Hot Metal Pros. When hit right, the Macgregors feel just as good if not better than both of those other irons.I will try them out some more before making a decision but its looking pretty good right now. For anyone on the fence, the demo program is worth it. Give them a try
the OS should be great for your swing... if you're playing a shaft that's too stiff for you, you'll be hitting weak pushes or even slices. The d9 Forged is a GREAT club that's underrated. what's your general carry and total yards for a 7 iron and what clubs are you coming from?
I am coming from Callaway X-15 pro irons. I believe they are like 20 years old. My carry with my 7 with the callaways was about 160 if I am not mistaken. I seem to be hitting these modern day 7 irons about 200 yards. Its a big change for me for sure. The only bad thing I am noticing with the MacGregors is the mishits really hurt my hands. Maybe I need something more forgiving? I definitely was not experiencing that pain with the wilson D9 forged and even less with the Mizuno Hot Metal pros. The MacGregors feel incredible when hit in the center though

@bowser1299 if you're hitting a 7i 200, then you should be hitting X-Still shafts for max control! Also check your spin #'s. Yhats what's most important on your scoring irons
Great video DJ! May I ask. I was recommended irons like the T200 from Titleist from my golf teacher. I am close to pulling the trigger for the Mizuno Jpx 923 hot metal pros which are similar to the T200 ( or in that category it seems). My grandfather and my dad used to play the Macgregor MT irons in the 70s I believe. How are you liking the new MT86? Was thinking about maybe doing the MT86 OS which seem to be categorized along with the T200 and the Mizuno hot metal pros (distance iron ). I wanted to know your thoughts now that you have had them for a bit. Again, amazing video and review. Take care
The T200 are GREAT irons. They're player's distance. So in reality, he sees you striking the ball really well. The JPX hot metal pros are great, but they're JUICED. They're easier to hit and add a TON of distance. They're 1/2 a degree stronger to start. The disparity gets bigger when you go to longer irons. Ie the 8 is a 33 degree vs 35 to the T100 and 38 of a traditional blade these days. I'd suggest hitting both. It's not just about distance, but the ability to stop the ball too (trajectory is important)
You and I are the same height; are your clubs standard length or shorter? I used to have the MT tourney back in the day and loved them. I’m going to have to try these out.
Here's the catch on my fitting and my swing: I like to manipulate distances by opening and closing the faces of clubs, ball position and grip of the club. When I play a standard length club (50% of my shots), I'm 1 degree flat. When I choke down 1" (or if you cut your clubs 1 ") then it's standard lie). ORder them today. They ship pretty quickly... and are pretty awesome. I'm chopping up the on course and then post course video now
Did you game them yet?
I did. Editing the next 2 episodes now. 1 is a home session and 1 is 2 days on the course
Are these the OS or the Pro??
These are the Pro's. The OS are just a hair bigger

Bro you’re hitting a pw 120 going after it, and you can hit 331 with a swing like that….Cmon man
I dont swing full and for speed on every swing. I like to control spin. My stock PW is 130. When I go after it, i can get 144 with it. My longest drive last season was 327.
Your handicap might improve if you carry a pocketknife.
😁😁😁
Why not just use your gamer ball to see real numbers.
Next episode is on the course dialing distances. My wife was sleeping so I used a quieter ball
Dude you need to be playing p790s or t200-t300. Just looking at your swing you won’t be consistent enough with those…. I can play blades all day as a +1 but I don’t.
Thanks for the recommendations. I'm a 4 handicap. They're setup like blades, but they're actually really forgiving in terms of mis hits. This is MacGregor's version of a P790.
Also I tested the P790's, I didn't hit them any better than my MP18's. Same with the T200.
So you can look at someone's swing and know whether they can play? I'm sure Jim Furyk and Matt Wolff would love to chat.
These aren’t blades by any means. These are hollow body foam injected irons.
