Does it sound digital? Yes. If you're playing digital music then that's the result. If you play off vinyl, then it's great. Tone is warm and pleasant. I did test vinyl from the 30's to current during my time with it

Absolutely! Odyssey cases work really well. 55+ Events in with the performer and not 1 scratch

Honestly that's the first time I've ever had that requested... similar to showing cents on pitch. I'll have to scroll through all of the display settings, but the information displayed is directly imported from serato to the performer screens

True. There's not much real estate thst you won't be impacting tech.... regardless I never turn the case over. It'd been upright or laying flat without issue so that's a great thing

When I get a decksaver in, I'll try that for sure. Only problem I've had with decksavers in transport is sometimes it's too big for the cutout, but since the performer sticks up a but out of the foam, it could work

Thank you nono. I'm a turntable guy first. Controller second. But this is the first controller that has made me think otherwise because of all of the possibilities. During my testing I even hooked up turntables and went 2 channels serato and 2 channels vinyl

It works. order a Rane Four case from Odyssey and it fits perfectly. all you need is studio foam for the platters but if you're not turning the controller over, then it's not anything to worry about. If you look in my shorts, you'll see the performer out in the wild with me. been doing it since January

do you want a rolling soft case or a hard case? Deck Saver has the units now so they're fabricating something

Odyssey Rane Four case. take out the hard foam for the top of the decks and replace with studio foam. It works and it's what I've been doing

it depends. I like the Four... but I LOVE the performer. I'm not a battle DJ anymore... I like to cut every now and again though

I'm 50+ gigs in. Sports, corporate, luxe events and TV stuff... I love this controller. It's the best thing that I've added to my performance sets. Prior to this, my preference was 2 turntables, phase and a 72. That's pretty much been my go-to since I started in the 90's. This is the first piece of gear that really made me think: what took me so long to adopt technology?

Keep both! It's always good to have backups and other setups. And yes, I was fortunate to be one of the outside testers to go as hard as I could in the units

@@DJYoshiVideos I have a couple back ups but not as advanced as My flx10 so I’ll keep it and then invest in the Performer. Since it’s dedicated to Serato it would be great to take advantage of all the features. Thanks for your expertise!

just plug it back in. the tension screw will automatically work for whatever you set it to. If you take your fader out to clean, you can see how everything works. I'd actually suggest doing it every 6 months. you'd be surprised how much gunk gets stuck in there just from playing on the mixer/controller

I own a rane four, 1000srt, rev 7 and a bunch of other controllers. Turntables are always my preferred setup.... but the Rane Performer is my fave controller thag I've used.... ever

Appreciate it man. I've used various controllers and love the DJXZ but need different and lighter 2nd unit. Plus fx and triggers make fx easier. Thanks for the feedback and I'll be looking out for your walk through on the rane.

DJ Yoshi, I appreciate your input. I was able to sell my DJ XZ and purchase a Rane 4 performer for $1800. My first gig will be this weekend for the 4th of July. I'm hoping to test everything out and enjoy that machine. I will say that the Performer is better for my style of mobile and live video mixing. 👍
