      +Jason A This video has some data that is misleading. That statistic is probably true, but I'm disappointed that the video did not explain that around 13% of the U.S. population is FOREIGN BORN, with nearly 82% of immigrants coming from Latin America and Asia, according to the World Almanac 2015.

They really need a better system in place like if your not going to get a job that involves most of stuff they teach us they shouldn’t force it on us should be optional also should have classes for students that are behind they have pre ap and ap classes for students that are higher up but not opposite

    In other countries, where teachers are paid on a level with doctors, America chooses, instead, to suggest lowering the requirement for teaching to a high school diploma, to rationalize its inability to attract the educators who'll teach tomorrow's doctors, lawyers, scientists, writers and mathematicians.

    I strongly believe in education reform, one that values intellect and creativity over obedience and busy work. This education system has got to stop within the next decade or we are going to fail our successors. Your remark about National Defense, however, is true, but we should value safety a little more than education because we can't if we are at a high risk of being attacked.

    Ive Always wondered why no other education system is scrutinized like ours its a blessing and a curse, because we can only compare ourselves size wise to China and India and those are horrid systems with decent results through rugged competition, but nobody complains that those places leave most people high and dry, and then there is Malaysia and Brazil and well thats not even close, and thats just in pure population. We as a country always compare our education system to tiny countries population wise, and have to realize we can't do it that way like Sweden or Norway or England cause we have to many people. So the answer really has to be an innovative one which is exciting to think that there is a chance to improve and better and something new.

    • @bnwo
      @bnwo Před 9 lety

      +Xavier Toussaint you really have no idea what you're talking about. this has nothing to do with the amount of people in the education system. your conclusion that no other education system is scrutinized like ours is just more evidence of your ignorance.

    • @Sendmetothesky
      @Sendmetothesky Před 9 lety +2

      yes it does, what the hell are you saying. The amount of people directly correlates to how much money needs to be put in, how many children are in the system and how the system needs to be prepared. So I guess that number of 50.1 million children doesn't matter,or that the number of illiterate adults could be in the millions isn't important because not understanding the population breakdown of demographics, ethnicity, population sprawl, percent growth doesn't directly lead to some of the issues in the education system like faculty to student numbers in inner cities and poorer school districts. population totally doesn't factor into who gets to have a music program and who gets it cut. And no other school departments around the world do get scrutinized as much, we have a system that is odd because of how much is put into public education. Also the fact that we boast some of the best schools in the world also certifies the extra scrutiny. So instead of saying shit out you're fucking ass, how about you step to with facts you stupid fucking bitch.

    • @bnwo
      @bnwo Před 9 lety +1

      Xavier Toussaint You really need to learn how to read. This has nothing to do with population doesn't mean population isn't a factor. It means that it isn't the problem. There's a difference there. Learn what it is, you illiterate jackass.
      And again, your belief in the exceptionalism of America is just jingoistic drivel. Do you really think that America is the only place that scrutinizes its education system "like us"?

    Its really sad. It’s the American culture that needs to change. How Americans think of how education, should be. Most don’t see education as a priority. It’s not the money, it’s the way of how kids are raised and taught about the importance of getting a good education, mainly influenced by the American culture and parents. Most kids are not held accountable for their academics performance and schools are pressured to move kids along without being proficient in the subject, so teachers teach easy things, so students can at least look like they are proficient in something and pass the class easily, which is a lie to the kid. The proficient level has dropped significantly.

  • @jjc6530
    @jjc6530 Před 3 lety +1

    Schools need some money, but that is not the main root of the problem. You can give schools millions and it won’t solve the main problems of the schools. Poor schools can survive and achieve success despite having less money. The blame is the American culture and way of life. Individual rights, people don’t listen to authorities, they do what they want, nobody tells them what to do. No respect for authorities or anyone. Kids raised in this environment learn that and develops the mindset that it’s okay to disrespect teachers and do what they want, thus bad behavior in class. Don’t have to pay attention. Don’t have to learn anything or do anything they don’t want to. The average kid graduating from high school nowadays can’t even read properly or do simple math. 14% was back then. Now it’s worse. A nation is ruined. It’s because these kids do what they want to, don’t have to listen to the teacher, and these behaviors are supported by the parent, cause they to don’t respect authorities and thinks it okay.

    • @henryford2950
      @henryford2950 Před rokem

      You can also blame such rebellious behavior on the culture of corruption, graft, and hypocrisy that exists in government institutions. I see such attitude as a sign of frustration & disgust for the system itself. Kids are not going to respect "authority figures" if those people also show disrespect and callousness for the people (misleading them into endless for-profit wars, etc.) Why play nice with people who'll back-stab you with no problem and treat you as an idiot, people whom you're supposed to trust and admire? I think we all need to earn respect from each other by not holding double-standards.
