    As for quality of video I thought it looked really good. Audio seemed to be low is all, if your in fact looking for constructive feedback. Looking forward to see your project in the air. Looks very nice so far. Take care.

    On the Throttle cable AN3-7 (?) bolt connection, you mentioned the little “spacer” - the more accurate term is a “stand-off”. 😃 Good work!

      Oh contraire! Lol. At stand-off is threaded. I have lots of standoffs and lots of spacers in this plane! Thanks for watching 👍👍

    The solution for the pitot tube heat is a nice fix, and I really like your solution for the back seat floor. It looks sharp.

    A fiberglass cover for the bottom oof the wings would also look nice and keep it a bit more streamlined and prevent debris from getting up inside (or insects, birds, bugs,...)

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  Před 8 měsíci +2

      I was originally going to make the covers from fiberglass so they would be closed. But then I realized I’d like to get this plane flying before 2032 when I retire! Lol

    For the GPS card, GARMIN recommends a 8gb card max but I have used larger. Then you reformat it per the instructions on their website. You don’t need a GARMIN specific card.

    • @DWBurns
      @DWBurns Před 8 měsíci

      They are digital camera SD cards. I have a 32GB card that works, Garmin says I am lucky but they have had 72GB cards work in the past.
      My home computer stopped working and a friends computer only can do micro cards, the micro to standard card reader worked for me, don’t count on it.
      Follow the Garmin update instructions exactly, I had to call and have them explain step-by-step how to do it. Fun was had by no one.

    A standard 8 or 16gb SD card is all you need, less than $10 on Amazon. Not like the old GNS days when you needed a proprietary $300 card and reader.

    Nice video as always. Are you not afraid the fastener for the throttle cable is for weak, It will be some force when changing the throttle setting ?

  • @Fang70
    @Fang70 Před 8 měsíci

    Honestly, unless you're planning on shooting LPV RNAV approaches to minimums on the regular, a Garmin GPS really isn't worth the expense. A portable ADS-B In device and a tablet can provide good VFR navigation capability at 1/10 the price.

    It would be nice if full scale aircraft kit makes would take a lesson from one of the manufacturers of almost ready to fly, (ARF), RC planes. They include in the package a clam shell, vacuum molded clear celluloid cowl that fits over their painted cowl. That way you can mount it on the airplane with the engine and other stuff mounted, see where cuts in the cowl are needed, cut them out of the clear celluloid, then put it over the painted cowl to mark it for the cutouts.

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  Před 8 měsíci

      That would be awesome! Probably expensive, but it would help if cutouts are needed.

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast

      No I’m using the dji wireless mike. There’s a small part that plugs into the iPhone and then there’s the microphone I wear. There’s a link to the dji mike in the description box.

    I posted a comment earlier but it did not post. You might want to consider swapping those two dipole antennas on the belly for the Shark Fin style. I have had to replace both on my airplane as the ones like you have installed both broke off at different times.

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Scott what the heck are doing with your Navy Cruzer?? You must be seeing some combat action lol! I’ve never had one of those little antennas break on any of my planes. The one on my Mooney was 50 years old and bent but it still worked. Those blade style antennas do look a lot nicer tho-I have one on my Cruzer.

    I have been watching you for a few years now. Video has always been good, this one too. However, the AUDIO was way off, very quite. Also, I am watching on the same Chromebook so it's not that. Other youtubers I watch sound fine. Just some feedback. Otherwise, I love ALL your content as a medical grounded pilot. Cheers, John

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  Před 8 měsíci

      Thanks for the feedback. I’m really not sure why the audio sounds good to some but not to others. In this video I had a microphone extension plugged into the dji wireless mic. On my next video I’ll try it without the extension and see if it works better.

    Question from a layman:
    Do you use a plastic product called Delrin anywhere on your aircraft?…I was under the impression it was used on aircraft.
    I’ve used it for small projects and it is easy to work with and is quite durable.

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  Před 8 měsíci

      The rudder cable exits I made are machined from Delrin. That's probably the only place it's used. There are some other small plastic type parts on the airplane but I don't think it's Delrin.

      @rocroc Před 8 měsíci

      When I read the "complaint" above this one I tested the audio on my two "high" level laptop computers (14 and 16 inch) and phone. All are equipped with the best HD audio systems available on those systems. I didn't have a problem with any of them. That doesn't mean there is not a problem with lesser systems and it could be the processor used to produce the sound is not working properly. If just a few people have the problem it could be their problem and not Kitplane's.

    You should have been an avionics tech in the military 😆…do you think that the Garmin said no GPS position because the plane was in the hangar? I’ve seen that before…the card should just load data.

  • @RafMov
    @RafMov Před 8 měsíci

    Hi Maybe I am not right but I am just worrying about your throttle cable support attached to engine frame. Engine should move around and vibrate and this engine movement could constantly change your throttle position on carburettor.
