  • Families of those who were killed during apartheid are still looking for answers. 'The Apartheid Killer' documentary filmmaker Isa-Lee Jacobson says convicted murderer Louis van Schoor's killings were at that time referred to as justifiable homicide. According to Jacobson, the apartheid system enabled these killings.

Hard as it may be, one must move on from these crimes. The fact is that one cannot undo the past. One can only learn from these, something the post-apartheid police has not done either. With a long-standing crime rate that ranks amongst the highest worldwide, how do the post-apartheid victims feel and suffer? The present situation is in fact where one should start to change things. And the buck stops at the top. Releasing previously high-ranking politicians from prison under the guise of health issues or plain pardon does nothing to build any trust that the responsible people have learned anything from the past.

Are you in such a position to dictate to the white people. Stop blaming the whites only, many whites were also killed by the blacks during apartheid - remember the Church street bomb in Pretoria in 1983, what about the bomb in Margate where innocent vacationers were killed? Don't make me laugh; the blacks were just as guilty.

The majority of white people may not have actively participated in the apartheid crimes against humanity, but we benefited from it whether you like it or not - we had decent jobs, decent housing etc - and we still continue to benefit from that legacy. Very very few whites joined anti-apartheid organisations, or tried to make a difference in one way or another. There's no innocence.

Funnily enough I stumbled across this documentary a few hours ago & was absolutely horrified by this absolute monster who got away with all these horrendous murders all these years & who so brazenly & heartlessly did not show one ounce of remorse. The fact that his daughter had her Mother killed due the daughter's racism says a lot as well, but very ironic that she went & married a Black man. The scenes were just heart-breaking & I just cannot understand how a human being can treat another human being like they are nothing more like a piece of scum on the ground. It is sickening. Now he needs to answer to God, there is no place in Heaven for people like this I believe, the bible says "thou shalt not kill". I pray that everyone hurt by this mans actions can find peace and have a purposeful life. I am a white South African and what I have seen in the documentary really hurt me deep inside, I myself when I was a kid lost my father to a brutal murder to gangs members of a different race, I don't understand why that happened but I don't judge people of color for that, I believe God has a plan for your life, and if you hate and breed in the past you will not achieve your full potential. I pray that we all can move on and learn from the past.
