These Alton Towers RIDES are GONE??

- The closed season is upon us and Alton Towers aren't wasting any time and have already removed their brand new for 2021 rides, the Retrosquad! These 3 rides, being temporary fun fair flat rides, have already been packed up as noticed by multiple people and sent off to their next place of operation! Will we see the return of Funk N' Fly, Mixtape and Roller Disco, or will we see brand new rides to replace them for the 2022 season??

I reckon Towers created The Retrosquad to see what the public think of flat rides and what sort they like before they invest in a proper flat ride that will stay at the park which explains your theory of more being added in the future.

OMG the removal of these rides are very big clues to us getting an rmc at thorpe park. see, the word "removal" has the letters r and m. and that the start of that sentence i said see or c. boom. 100% proof that we get an rmc 🙃

Roller disco is now at my local winter wonderland in stoke around 30 minutes away from towers
I do hope that they refresh the RetroSquad rides as I really enjoyed them. They were really cool, can’t wait for any updates, so I’ve subscribed to your channel!

Get on it at Hyde park winter wonderland before it's sold as more than likely it will be a German or Dutch showmen that buys it.

They’re really good rides but the cycles and operations are soooo bad
Sad they're gone. Apart from the deal forest one they were so good
I am actually happy because this is a chance to get mixtape (jumper jumper/skate jumper) back to the netherlands where his adventure begon!

I think it’s a fantastic idea having different rides each year maybe even a guest rollercoaster. The last new ride we got at Thorpe was DB ghost train and it very hard to even call that lump off poo a ride
Imagine if olimpia looping came!
I think I'm good considering how most travelling coasters are... Not great! If Alton chose to bring Olympia looping to the park for a year though I certainly wouldn't complain 😏😂
@@pjw1993 I was thinking more Thorpe as they could tarmac the Island next to the swarm and make a large event areas where they could have large events area and could easily have temp rides, a large stage and have a festival, and a number off mazes for fright nights.

I think Alton have seen the importance of flat rides and what they do to capacity. I honestly wouldn’t be mad if we don’t get a coaster next, but actually 3 permanent flat rides.
I hope that's the long term plan as they need some new flats.
I went twice this year to Alton Towers and loved the retro rides soo much and the music was awesome! We took our son to the fireworks spectacular event and had the best day ever xx

Mix tape had me laughing like crazy; it was hilarious! I loved being able to see all my friends spinning around in their seats whilst we all bounced around 😂

Mixtape is at Hyde Park. Roller Disco gone. Funk N Fly I don't know if it's still at the park? The Twisters are open for Christmas in David Williams World.
Funk N Fly has since appeared at Winter Wonderland Exeter (supposedly) 🔥
The Roller Disco is little more than a sophisticated version of the waltzers, as seen at travelling funfairs over the years!
My second youngest sister used to like riding them with the safety bars open - as did a lot of other people - but I think someone fell out once, so now they have to be closed - in fact, the ride won’t start until such a time as they are closed - which often necessitates closing the bar on an empty car - either it locks shut and can’t be opened, or, if someone tries to open it, it stops the ride!
I went on Roller Disco! It was alright. Be great if the staff could spin it like they do at the fairground,but health and safety ruins that idea!!

Hi dan i never rode any of the retro squad rides it is sad thay are gone well i have my own little mementoes of them i have built models of all three of them my favorite out of the three was mixtape i hope thay will be back next year

Those three will never come back to Alton being as one is up for sale (mixtape) and the other 2 are brand-new rides to the showmen that will be traveled around the country. Now showgrounds have opened again.
It would be nice to see a rotation of fairground machines yearly at Alton being a throw back to its origins. But in the long run Alton NEEDs to invest in new permanent flat rides.

i know they dont really fit but id love to see them bring 3 different fair ground rides for next year, remember in the marketing when the robot clicked the buttons to sendthem to towers, they had more buttons. Maybe the other buttons could be more rides???

I’m sad to see them go, funk n fly was a great ride to say enterprise was closed when I went, I now wished I did mixtape.
I wouldnt be surprised if this gimmick comes to Thorpe park next year. After stuff like Bouncezilla, this would fit right in with their yearly attractions.

I read somewhere that FFF is staying for the Festive Days Out and will be one of the "selected rides" that are open for that.
Will be there till end of the year then it will also leave.
Hope they get proper permanent flat rides in all four locations. And a water coaster behind Galactica in car park. ☺️

I think whilst they decide what to put in all the rides places then it will be good to put different fairground rides in its place so something different :)
The fandango fairground ride is remaining near gangster granny? I’m guessing it will stay there until they open new rides in that area as they have 4D cinema to do something with? And I think cuckoo land as being changed to fit with that area.
Nope that will be leaving also come open season next year. All the showmen had a 1 year contract but that went in later than the other three hence why it hasn't left yet.
Why I didn't know that alton towers had it's own lore

My guess is that they rented the fair rides for the season instead of purchasing all 3 rides. Now that the seasons over the company that owns them took them back.

IMO they’re almost certainly going to get three new retro squad flat rides, otherwise they wouldn’t of bothered putting those extra names in the teaser.

I for one was ecstatic about the ritual squad purely because for the first time in a long time they were finally doing something meaningful about flat rides again!😁
It finally felt like a massive hole in the lineup had been filled.
They did say they were 1 season only, maybe they’ll rehire them or different next year
Their Waltzer (Roller Disco) was the best waltzer I’ve ever been on shame they’ve removed it but glad to have gotten the chance to ride it, the music to it was good too, as well as the funk n fly that old school music was very funky to get into matched the ride. Shame I didn’t get a chance to ride mixtape but glad I got to ride the ones I did.
But there were other ride named that appears on that advert for them that didn’t get selected so interesting to see what they will do next.
The day I get to ride dino thump and disco ring will be the best day of my life it may never happen but I’ll be a great day

Wasn’t it just a delayed 40th anniversary thing and designed to be a temporary attraction
Was also to help the local showmen with the covid shutting down showgrounds.

I thought that mixtape and funk and fly were actually quite good but the location of roller disco was a bit shite
They need to add permanent and good flat rides which fit the themes of the areas. I’m in the group who disliked how these were implemented. I like that they did it for capacity and the marketing was fun. But the visuals and audio just clashed way too much whenever I seen them in the park.
As much as u l liked the retro squad I think they don't belong in a theme park as there made for fairs so its good to see them back out on the fair circuit but I think towers should invest in there own new flat rides

I like the retro but I didnt do the walzers I think that one needs to be changed funk and fly was the far and mixtape was the two that always had queues so I would say just ass 1 new one
They have to return as you have said where they were are huge gaps for Alton towers. They need something or else the park isn’t that attractive. Merlin need to go their game though as all the parks are getting stale abs boring and these three rides always do well on a fist going. I thought their was a fourth the twist / sizzler that was in DW land. Has that gone or did it stay?
I think all the rides went to winter wonderland. I know that the spinning rollercoaster from Fantasy Island comes to winter wonderland every year.
