In this piano tutorial I show you how to play "The Girl From Ipanema" by Jobim, Moraes, and Gimbel. So the music to The Girl From Ipanema is by Antonio Carlos Jobim and there are apparently two different sets of lyrics, one set in Portuguese by Vinicius de Moraes and one set in English written later by Norman Gimbel. Here are the chord changes in order:
INTRO - Fmaj9 - Gb7b5 - Fmaj9 - Gb7b5 - VERSE - Fmaj7 - Fmaj7 - Em - Em - Gm7 - Gb7b5 - Fmaj7 - Gb7b5 - Fmaj7 - Fmaj7 - Em - Em - Gm7 - Gb7b5 - Fmaj7 - Fmaj7 - BRIDGE (OR CHORUS?) - Gbmaj7 - Gbmaj7 - B7 - B7- Gbm9 - Gbm9 - D9 - D9 - Gm9 - Gm9 - Eb9 - Eb9- Am7 - D7 - Gm7 - C7 - F - VERSE 2? - Fmaj7 - Fmaj7 - Em - Em - Gm7 - Gb7b5 - Fmaj7 - Gb7b5 - Fmaj7 - Gb7b5
If you can understand all that crap then those chords should help you to interpret the video. But don't forget to use your ears for heaven sake - that's the most important thing you can do.

Joe, you did it, I wanted to play this song for so long, and nobody explains it as easy as you do, I GOT IT!.. I play the guitar and the root notes did it..this is perfect for accompaniment.

One thing, however, in the chord after the A minor ( but each day when she walks to the sea).. I believe the chord for sea would sound better with an A flat/G# instead of an A natural. The note sung is the G# so it clashes with the natural.
