    I have the 2018 version R with 550 HP. The build quality is very good and it just feels like a supercar when you enter the cockpit. I think the esthetics are finally tuned in and the style just looks balanced. I would put this as an entry super car with the touch of a muscle car. The Porsche is playful but unless you double the price, you won't get the same experience. I had an M5 and this car just feels very special. The application of power is right now. The first time I hit it, my head was painfully snapped back with the unexpected application of power. I would not get the 6 no matter how much the salesman bragged about it. I like the two seat approach. The rear cover makes you feel like you are in a spaceship. With the hardtop I have more than enough room to pack for a long weekend and bring all the extra toys. And I have to bring up that the suspension is a bit harsh to my liking. There should be a street mode. Being picky the rear brakes look so miniscule compared to the highly finished front calipers. For the money they should have detailed the rear calipers with a smooth finish.

      I'm really thinking RWD vs AWD....RWD is fun but I've heard it's super easy to crash them, also you say goodbye to your tires in a season...pulls faster, but AWD is better at a drag...also AWD is more safe and spares the tires for another season... I've heard you could provoke the AWD in a small powerslides too in order to achieve "fun"
      Help pls

    Those speed bumps must be fun. There is a good reason to brake and accelerate again. ;-)
    The sounds of V6 and V8 are really different but I like them both, absolutely insane. However if I were restricted to buy a 6cyl, I would opt for the 981 Boxster S or GTS. Much lighter, agile and compact, easier to drive narrow roads. But I wasn't restricted... so I am with a FTV8S now. The V8 is the better match for this rather big car.

    I own both the V8 and the V6. The V8 is phenomenally better. It is absurdly fast as a lighter RWD than the heavy, lower whp AWD cars, and it is the best sounding car of all time, bar none. Add a $220 pulley and a $750 Racechip for a conservative 650 hp.

    • @PureDriveTV
      @PureDriveTV  Před 5 lety

      @@PureDriveTV
      I first bought the V6 based on so many reviewers "preferring it." It was way too weak for me, but it is perfect for my wife who doesn't care about anything but the gorgeous lines and open cockpit. So it went to her and I bought a launch car: a V8S in Firesand. As much as the V6 dissappointed me, the V8S has exceeded my expectations, and then some.
      As you might know, all V6s and V8s are hardware identical, so the base models have the same tuning potential as the higher horse power variants of the same cylinder count. With a Racechip and a pulley, my V8S puts down as much WHP as an SVR has BHP. Plus it is RWD so it absorbs less BHP with one less transmission and 300 lbs less weight. It is hillarious fun, but it takes practice to launch without lighting the rear tires on fire, even with traction control on, its a tail wagging adventure every time pedal hits floor. I wound up putting bigger Michelin 4Ss on, and sacrificing near brand new OEM PZeros to the gods, at least the MP4Ss grab some of the HP. But it really needs dedicated drag slicks.
      Anyone who says the V6 is the car to have has never driven the V8. A mildly tuned V8 is simply the best, fastest, loudest (in a good way) car reasonable money can buy, IMO. It eats Huricans and R8s and GT3s alive, with part throttle. It puts $200K-class cars away brutally, until they are out of the rearview mirror. Gone. It is merciless. I love it. And one rev in place breaks their windows and flattens their tires.
      The V6 can be tuned to 450 BHP, and it sounds very good in a different, less muscle car way. But it is no fun losing to Mustang GTs. Its really a non-starter as exotics go. Compare non-starter to damn near invincible. Thats the difference, in a nut shell.
