As a german, trust me, english is by far easier to write lyrics in. Its "hazy" enough. In german, you sound stupid extremely quickly. Most german singing artists sound dumb. Its very hard to press this language into poetry. English is much more forgiving and ambivalent. Thats probably why the majority of german bands sing english.

One of the most important stories about the Scorpions and a story that intrenched their fan base forever…… the lead singer Klaus suffered an injury that threatened his ability to sing. The doctors truly weren’t sure if he’d ever sing again. He encouraged the band to “move on” without him. The band absolutely refused to play without him…. They waited for a really long time while he recovered! Obviously he made a full recovery and the Scorpions went on to be one of the greatest bands ever…. But that kind of loyalty is so admirable. I remember thinking “I’ll love them forever.”

Why do think there are so many people who can imitate Plant but not Klaus? The clarity, intensity, and machine gun vibrato Krause puts out can not be imitated by anyone.

They formed in 1965 and there are 2 original members still there with Klaus Meine, the lead singer, and Rudolph Schenker, main composer and rythm guitarist. This is the edited version. You seriously need to listen to the album version...way better! And Klaus Meine is amazing on vocals!! SO many great tunes...hard edged, power ballads...they do it all. Big City Nights, The Zoo, I'm Leaving You, Bad Boys Running Wild...they all rock! It's a good song, and I know it was a big hit for them, but I feel like this is one that people always request mainly because it got a lot of radio coverage and it just pops to mind when certain people hear "Scorpions," but they definitely have better songs. Also, the whole inspiration for the song... well, let's just say that Russia has pretty much done a 360 since it was written.
