If you are into tools and equipment related to lawn care. This is the place for you. Unboxing, quick looks and reviews of lawn mower, line trimmers and any thing else you can think of. No brand is off limits, Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Masport, Ryobi, Scag, Ego, Milwaukee, Makita, Dewault, Toro and any other you can think of.
Lawn looks brilliant, I’ve always found (sometimes to the annoyance of the Neighbours) that pressure cleaning your Footpath makes the Lawn look better.
If you can teach yourself about turf, tools and certified lawn detailing, you can teach yourself about gardening. You’re a smart fella. Maybe some vines to hang over your pots; soften the edges. Glad to see you getting some rain.
Tim, as a Gardener, you would make a great Gnome. 😂😂
For a native purple ground cover, how about some native violet? Green leaves, not strappy, with purple and white flowers that the insects love!
I'm sure you'll get the hang of sorting plants that will work for your lot, especially if you continue paying attention to soil condition and plant preferences. I love colorful perrenials and native grasses where I live but I have to be careful to avoid the 'oh, that's pretty!' purchases and really understand if it will survive the conditions. And your front lawn is amazing - like a golf course green now that it's recovered, must be so soft - so it was fun to see you barefoot when running the rotary mower over it! Good luck with the new plant material!
Finally, someone else got on your back about the service 🤣🤣Pretty comprehensive nursery, though.
Your lawn looks great. If I had the type of yard to do that, I would. I love a short lawn.
You should put a few inches of pebbles in the bottom and then soil and then the plant. It may help the drainage and keep the plants feet from staying submerged.
Just my 2 cents.
I recommend black mondo grass or ajuga if you want some purple color variation. Both have small purple or whitish-purple flowers in the summer.
Love nurseries and trying new things! Watching has gotten me with Spring fever. I am in the northern US. But my seed books and catalogs are out. Have lots of landscaping to do this year!
Grass looks amazing !!!! Loved the plants and tree you bought.
Cheers!
If you want purple, try the Australian Native Violet, Viola hederacea. It's a great ground cover.
Take a look at Ajuga or creeping phlox, Arjuna comes in a few colours, there's a burgundy glow that you might like but obviously it will depend upon what you can get in Australia, try looking them up online to see both if available and if uts the type of plant colour you and your wife would like. Great video as always Tim ❤
Love watching your Free Mow Fridays! I’m 70 this year but have always loved mowing the grass since I was old enough to do it. We’ve always had large yards, living in rural Maryland and now Virginia USA.
Aubreta/Aubretia is a beautiful purple ground cover flowering plant. Don’t know if you can get it in Aus though.
Nicole has good taste in cars….🙄😆👏👏👏
Lamium Chequers it has purple flowers and a verigated leaf. Lamium Beacon Silver is similar to the lamium Chequers but the flowers are in clumps
Wandering jew is a purple ground cover that you might like.
Try lavender. Great smell and beautiful purple.
I love mini cogs and the weeping lime magic!!
Oh my, your grass is looking AMAZING
You mentioned purple ground cover. Look into Purple Queen ( Tradescantia pallida ). I think it will suit your purple ground cover needs well. It’s very low maintenance.
I love nuseries there are always new plants and things to see, you pick good ones. Grass is lovely😊
Can't wait to see you deal with keeping ground cover inside its boundaries 💗💗
Watch out for that little tree next to your sewer inspection opening, IO, roots will work its way into it and block your sewer
Thank for the video Tim much appreciated.
What to get rid of that pallet..put it in ur front yard and put in a price. It'll be gone in 5 mins lol. Also watching 2 vlogs today whoohoo
I cannot believe that you use a cylinder (barrel) mower and do not go for the stripey lawn! Even the Groundkeepers at major ovals go for the stripey look and they use large equipment...I love a stripy lawn.
🤭🤭🤭🤭 I have a black thumb, Tim. Every plant I touch dies. Except the one plant we don’t want growing in the garden 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
😂
Your lawn looks fantastic
Great choices in plants. Love your vlogs. Love how that front patch has come back to green and lush. Bet that feels nice on the feet! Lol. Love from AZ❤
So nice to walk on!
👍❤
Ajuga chocolate chip is also a gorgeous ground cover that is bulletproof and spreads very thick that weeds cant grow through.
"Old persons plant" 😂 i say that about certain lollies, thats "old peoples lollies" LOL
Lollies as in candy 🍬
Get some myoporum at 0:45 good ground cover
Purple Pixie® Dwarf Weeping Loropetalum
Geeze Louise those prices are rich, I’m a bit spoilt with the Yandina markets on Saturdays most of the plants you’ve looked at are $12.50 e
Nice clumping purple plant is Rhoe, come in a variegated form and also a golden form now.
Love the foot protection while you mow 👍
Protect me from what? 😂
@@turfandtools 😂
Ajuga is a nice dark red/purple ground cover and has purple flowers in the spring
Hi Tim i had a dwarf magnolia & it ended up with the roots lifting up my pavers on te driveway. When i spoke to gardening female at Bunnings , she said it might be a dwarf but its still a tree. so watch yours if there near any drives/ paths for root damage
What about a "Alternanthera Little Ruby" I think it would look nice in the front garden.
"Compact richly-coloured popular ground cover - Little Ruby™ is smaller, lower-growing, less vigorous than Alternanthera dentata with a more purple tone. Frost-free gardens only unless you treat it as a bedding annual; it thrives in humid subtropical gardens"
We have a couple out the front but I was looking for more of a ground crawler
Plants are expensive. As I don’t live anywhere near you, you gotta do some research on line of what is suitable for your area. Definitely need some colour.
Perforated drainage pipe under the trees to move water away? I'm sure you already considered that tho.
❤❤
Hey mate, check out 'amazing grace' a grevilliea, ground cover.
Don’t bother with the pittosporums Tim. I had 2 of my 6 die due to same soil issue. I added heaps of new soil + gypsum to break clay and they eventually die as they’re so damn sensitive. Keep them in pots if u want them to survive.
The bloody things grow like weeds in my yard! The birds poo the seeds and they just take off. I’m always finding one grown far bigger than I should have allowed after ignoring the garden for too long.
@@zanyzana66 lucky! You’ve got good soil. They hate wet/soggy roots. Sensitive plants
Do you have or are you allowed to plant creeping thyme? It looks absolutely gorgeous!
And I love how quickly your bits of lawn have greened up quite nicely with that bit of rain.
I prefer less flowery stuff personally
Plant some mondo grass
I’m old, now I’m offended
😂
I found that my garden soil was old so my new plantings died
Old people's plant ... right, in that case can you point out a geriatric plan 🤣😂🤣
Old persons plant?
if you keep killing plants you buy, have your wife buy them :)
Old persons plant hahaha i am an old person and still say that and wont buy them.
Young at heart 😂
First everyone (well, maybe not everyone; I wasn't) was busting your chops about you not wearing gloves during certain portions of the mowing. And now we see you mowing in your bare feet. I hope those folks don't yell at you for doing that. Me, I wouldn't do it, but that's just because my soles are too tender.
I do hope you get your money's worth out of the tree.
Did you see the state of the grass?
@@turfandtools Oh, I saw it. I didn't mean my comment to be critical, just thinking out loud about what others might joke about. I never thought one could even get grass cut that low. Growing up in New York City, one didn't really walk outside in bare feet, so you doing it caught me off-guard.
