- Here is the overview of my bush craft / survival belt that I had custom built by Jessie Cassell at Black Sheep Leathers in upstate South Carolina. This belt holds all of the tools that I want to have at the tips of my fingertips when I’m out in the woods.

Well thought out kit. The local leather crafter did a great job. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, a lot of folks might think that a surplus web belt with a few items secured to it is the best a person could do. You, sir, have certainly gone next level. Here in the Philippines, a place to keep your machete handy and an emergency water procurement/treatment kit would be a good addition. Customizing to cater to what you need and want is what this is all about. Great video man.
Awesome belt, GG's binoculars is a great touch too!👍😁
Thank you, I’m sure she would be as proud of it as I am
bushcraft batman over here. 😄
I think that is an awesome kit. Very well made for a custom design 👏 👌. I am new to the leather craft family and I love seeing how other folks do things and get ideas from them so I can maybe make a similar item.
Thank you, I put a lot of thought into it. And several months to produce.
Leather work is an amazing art, I’m sure you’ll go far with it!
I took this idea and made a belt kit for myself.
nice, diggin all the custom holders!
Nice kit - clean and functional. You dont relize when you start, bushcrafting and enjoying the outdoors- that you start getting tactical/hiking nylon canvas fatigue. Its funny how we tend to go full circle back to what alot of our predessors used and did. Alot can be said for keeping it simple and realizing the value of past knowledge before its gone.
Nice setup, well thought.
It is even better if you can make your own.
Very impressive build!!
I appreciate all the creative thought that you put into this great set-up. Thanks for sharing.
Good build.
Thank you randy, there was definitely some time and thought out into it
Thank you Steve!
Great ideas
Awsome set up👍🏽😯👍🏽
A haversack by definition is a food sack. Military regs required food and ammo to be carried in it. Anything else is no longer a haversack, it's a shoulder bag. I'll put my food in a haversack as I live in bear country and I don't want all my gear to smell like food. But that's just my area, if others use a shoulder bag good for them.
Might have to give him a shout. I live in Liberty.
NO NEED TO SHOUT!! I can hear you fine! 😂
Excellent set up and really well demonstrated, mate. I like it a lot.
Im watching a few videos like yours on CZcams looking for ideas for my own hunting/bush belt kit. I'm a leatherworker here in Australia and have made a lot of belt pouches and the like in my time, but its always valuable to see how others do things as there's always an idea you either havnt thought of, or an idea you've had and never tried, but find confirmed by somone else doing it.
Im in the process of doing a belt with a type of chest rig so I can have my gps, binos and 2 way mounted on my chest area and a way to distribute some wieght off the belt alone.
I'm going to try something like your glove strap. It's the start of a great concept.
I been using military pouches for years now as a belt kit. I like the military materiability for durability but dislike the color. Lol. Thanks for the idea of using leather instead.
Beautiful setup. My favorite yet. You can't beat custom leather. I don't know a leather guy, so I had created a similar setup through purchasing matching leather pieces as I could. It's nice, but not nearly as sweet as your custom job, of course. Well thought out out. A Haversack for a water bottle, tarp, etc, and you're good to go.
This is definitely a cool kit. but as a carpenter, im tired of wearing tool belts. A good old back pack has worked great for me. I dont see myself going any other way
I completely understand that, if I just hiked as exercise I would probably prefer that but as far as personal choice goes, I’m always reaching for something or needing these items and I HATE having my pockets full of stuff or digging in my pack every 10 minutes,
I have a similar rig but with old Alice web gear but the leather is way better than nylon in the sense of durability 👍🏼
where is the leather makers contact info ?
Lose the strap for your gloves. Theyre going to get hung up and become annoying slapping your leg as ya walk. Instead put a large metal grommit say half inch or so. Thats what the smoke jumpers and forest fire fighters do. Nice belt but i wouldnt get a high carbon buckle either. The higher the carbon the quicker it rusts. The rust will mess with the leather discoloring or breaking it down. Just put ya a striker in your pouch somewhere. I put mine on my axe cover
They don’t swing around as much a you’d think, but I do question how secure it is sometimes, I mean it’s actually very secure (I haven’t lost any gloves yet) but as I’ve been testing this design, constantly checking is aggravating.
I recently seen a short by wrangler star or whatever his name is on doing what you’re talking about and I this it’s a brilliant idea and definitely on my long to do list
Yup i saw it on there as well. Do the blades in it give you any issues? Also do you know if the belt was cut from a belly, skirt, or shoulder piece 0f leather? Im bout to make my own and dont know what i should use to prevent stretching
Why not just put a couple grommets in the cuff of your gloves and clip em with a carabiner?
Because I was building the belt kit before that wranglerstar video came out 😂
I may go that route in the future though
I’m not gonna lie… nerd vibe. However I cannot say that I didn’t listen intently and I feel smarter for it.
I’m an amateur leather worker and you’re right.
