      I used to live by the trust no one code. . but when you meet someone you truly trust, then you see that "trust no one" would include you.. and not trusting yourself or being trustworthy. So yeah.. you can find people who you trust. And stay with them. you can't turn back time and get moments back so think before you act and ppl will trust you. It's about loyalty n it is a rare gem

It is fascinating to hear other people's real struggles. i wish i could make all their monsters go away but i know all too well, it is not an easy feat. i always wondered why no one was interviewing those that are homeless, living on the streets and about their life's journeys so thank you Mark for devoting your time to this. We had a homeless man in our city, he had 2 dogs, he kept them in top conditions. They were well fed, he built little shelters for then, had blankets. They sat with him and cuddled, they lived for that man. The people from the neighborhood (fancy) were friends with them, gave him things for the dogs, etc. Unfortunately he died a couple of years ago, the dogs? They were adopted by people from the neighborhood. They have homes and are loved.

    • @irinatorch1864
      @irinatorch1864 Před rokem +1

      I feel both sad and glad reading your comment.. I was a long time addict, homeless, sex worker, on the wrong side of the law.. pretty much most of the stuff you see in these interviews. I got used to be judged by society and have little to no compassion. When I was younger I used it to justify my actions if I stole or hurt member of society.. Now I live a better lifestyle and I take care, but I often feel that I waste my efforts for nothing by being doing my best to be a good member of society, because at best they would ignore me, most likely they would take advantage of me. Accept me as an equal? Ha, very funny.
      At some point a girl I know made a movie about me which got several awards (you can watch it on youtube btw, it is called "nobody owns me" by Anouk Meissner) as well as a theatre play where an actress played me and the team did a couple of interviews with me to make the script. As a result of these, and the memoir I wrote, I had a lot of people saying how it changed their attitude towards outcasts of society . That now they give money for the homeless, that they feel compassion towards addicts etc, "if only I had a slight idea what might be behind these people before, I would have never judged them" etc. Of course, that warms my heart.. but my question nevertheless remain the same - what have I (and those who walked the same road) done so awful that created so much hostility towards us?? Most of the homeless people I know won't hurt a fly. The worst thing they can do is get high or drunk and hurt themselves .. or be a victim of "proper members of society" who would call cops on them (that would abuse or hurt them) or hurt them with their own hands. Nearly all the homeless women I know were raped, beaten and abused in any way possible. It is hard being defenceless. It is a tough life, and no wonder all of the people in the interviews look older than they really are. This life gets you and makes you grow hard skin or else you just won't survive. I thought that if there is any good in people, any compassion, it would be the natural reaction to feel compassionate for those who are obviously suffering (unless it is hard to understand that sleeping rough in boiling hot and freezing cold days and nights, being in constant danger, being defenceless and having society judge you as the source of all worlds problems is someone's idea of a good time).. I was wrong. The automatic reaction is repulse, hostility and looking the other side at best. For some reason society is also surprised why people use drugs and don't want to "get better" (as if it is hard to understand that it is natural for people to seek positive emotions and there are few sources to get them when you are going through hell. And that if society is hostile to you, you are way less likely to ask for help or wish to become a proper member of it).
      "But you managed to get out of it, so it's possible, right?" - that's what I get to hear often. Yes, it is possible. But I had a combination that few people get : luck to find love and luck to understand a few things before I destroyed myself completely - I simply realized that if it is not enough how people hurt me, I am also playing their game by hurting myself. So I learned and still learning, day by day, to treat myself right. It is hard beyond words when nobody taught you that. And my life story was actually not as bad as many of the people in those interviews or those I know in real life. Ignorance is a monster. It makes society hurt people who are so goddamn hurt already that I find no words to tell how awful it makes me feel.

    I can appreciate a lot of compliments regarding the looks of people in these videos. People want to be kind. I get that.
    But I don’t find it honest, and I have to be honest. There is no glamour here. Most of them look rough. Unkempt, skin with sores, hands rough and hardened by life. This is no way a judgement of their character or who they are as people. As an addict myself, I have zero room to judge, and little desire to do so. But I fail them if I overlook how the reality of their situations have aged and hardened them. How can I look at someone and say “hey, you look great!” knowing they had sex for money 8 times yesterday, strung themselves out on the harshest possible drugs, and probably haven’t had a decent nights rest in years living in a tent in skid row?
    No, they look tired. Some look utterly exhausted. They have been beaten and scarred, physically and emotionally. I wish them peace. A warm safe place to lay their weary heads.

    People are too scared to open up about personal things because they don’t wanna bring up underlying issues or trauma to the surface, but when they do open up so casually about certain situations that are extremely terrifying they’ve subconsciously taught themselves to think it was nothing, they’ve learnt how to become numb to these moments. Using drugs as a mask to shove their trauma beneath them. But not realising that the trauma still exists when they hurt others including themselves. All they needed was love and acceptance and care, respect and trust, it’s not a f**cking hard thing to give, these poor babys deserve healing. 💕

    I'm new to your channel , I've been binge watching the different interviews. So heartbreaking. I live in a tiny town where the people here take care of their own . These people are a reality check for me, a reminder of how they are real people , lost and ignored in our society. Most victims of a horrific childhood. Although this man says his childhood was not abusive. Everytime I watch one of these interviews, I pray , I pray over them and for them. Thank you for caring enough to listen to their story with kindness and respect and giving them a voice that is otherwise lost in the noise of this world. Beautiful souls just trying survive the evil of this world.

    I am also transgender and i've also been a sexworker for almost 20 years. It's a difficult life but it's not always bad. I've met some really nice and kind people but i've met bad people too. But i've had fun doing it for some years. Now i am older and i would never want to go back to the same work as i used to do because the stigma and the hate i've had to endure also traumatized me a lot. I am 50 now and i wonder what i am going to do with the rest of my life. My past still haunts me in many different ways, eventhough i am now a changed person there are still nasty people from my past confronting me with what i did to survive. It's not easy to make a 'respectable' living when you are transgender, i've applied for regular jobs many many times but i've always been turned down. I am not working at the moment. I wish the very best for Cassie and i sincerely hope she can get out of the industry some day 😘

      Nah, I said what I meant. The world's leaving you behind gentlemen. Even if you don't agree, this is a societal change, and more important to me, it is what a part of Americans say they need to feel respected. I'm good with that. And I'm good with this speaker's smoldering beauty.

The world's going to shit because of ppl like u, always wanting to be politically correct and not honor the word of GOD, what is written in the Bible. The creator is mad at us. Clearly, he's shaking shit around. It's time u open up them peepers and get u some understanding!

      @Sledge Patrick ha HAAA HA HA! You terrified angry men. I've read the good book front to back many times. I can chapter-and-verse you both into dust! You KNOW that Jesus said not to judge, love others as you do yourselves and most of all SERVE THE LEAST OF YOU. I respect what people want for themselves, that's how I serve. I see a human being who feels something deeply and I WILL support and respect her, because the bible told me to. Go ahead, twist scripture to your fear and hate, you ain't serving God.

    When you listen to her words, you almost believe she had a good childhood and that it turned out the way just because life can be like that, but when you see her expressions and then listen to her words, it feels like she had such a rough life and maybe it started with a rough childhood but she just doesn't want seem like a victim and has kept telling herself these positive uplifting lies. This interview really made me feel quite uncomfortable and sad.

    I love this channel!! What a great concept in interviewing. I'm very sad by the human condition. If we could figure out what to do BEFORE these people suffer so much- our community would flourish. I genuinely believe that even a slight change in anyone's' circumstances- any one of us could suffer & face skid row.
