Honestly I don’t have the SBL front pocket backpack. But I am a saddleback fan. If I had to choose one or the other I would definitely go with the leathershop because the leather quality they use is a lot nicer and higher quality. I think sbl leather is nice don’t get me wrong it’s a more rugged leather that’s very sturdy and patinas nicely. I just think TLS has beautiful leather that patinas just as nice. honestly the heirloom backpack from the leathershop is my go to. It’s got so many pockets that are really useful. I love my vintage backpack though it’s practically wearable art.

It’s so beautiful as is I haven’t wanted to get it dirty I mainly use it for my favorite stuff that I keep in my house tbh 😂 I have so many backpacks. I use the heirloom one everyday and it’s gotten an amazing patina! The heirloom one is slightly more practical too compared to the vintage one. It’s been more than a year since having all of my leather shop bags so I’m due for another review soon.
I think when I bought it, they charged $150 for a custom job. I’m surprised they don’t all have the inside pockets like mine. That was a great addition because I use those a lot.
Squirrel Master, do you have any idea as to why Mark at The Leather Shop isn't returning phone calls or emails? I've tried to reach him for at least a month now with no luck. I wanted to see when the Vintage Backpack - Natural would be in stock. Hopefully, he is just too busy to reply, or maybe he is taking a well-deserved break.
Very good question I’m not sure! I hope they maybe are just swamped from the holidays.. I would just keep trying. Try reaching out on their social media.

Love the custom additions… was it much more than the standard price for all the custom work?

Yea, interior pockets are a must I feel . Let me know if you ever decide to sell it.
