    People who committed crimes go to prisons to pay their debt to society. But when the offenders are released society punishes them over again by denying them employment, housing etc. Ostracizing them, humiliating them makes re-offend again. This is a cruel practice and this should change

    I've met this guy before in person. In prison. Even though I was sitting at the back, avoiding being asked questions, he asked me when I was going to be released.
    The sharing/sermon that followed was very inspiring, and all I can say is this is one God-fearing man. A true servant of Jesus. Amen.

    Quoting from Yellow Ribbon:
    "We are each other's second chances. Everyone makes mistakes, but a second chance makes all the difference. As individuals, organizations and employers, we can each help ex-offenders break free from stigma and break through as contributing members of our community"
    Better late than never, I'm glad that Henry has finally found his path and be able to steer away from his negative past and has been able help those who had been through similar.

    Bravo man. Another converted soul who bear strong witness to his belief and faith in God. The multitude of tears from your crying symbolised the baptism and desire to lead a new life. Not all is able to get that of wakening call or even comprehend that kind of guilt or hopelessness you must have felt. It's like killing yourself in order to be reborn.

    So a young man of 18 years would be given no second chance at all in Singapore.

    • @bantuck
      @bantuck Před 2 lety +2

      Yes. At the age of 18 (here in Singapore context), the perpentrators would have known the consequences or aware of the crimes they committed. Ought to know what is right from wrong and not to even contemplate in hurting others for own personal gains. What is life to come, will come. We can work very hard to do good to achieve our goals but we still have to follow what He decrees. All evil thoughts will never reach a good ending, similarly not all good thoughts will have smooth sailing always. Ultimately, we leave this world with nothing; same as the way we came..

      Yes. And rightly so.
      Drug trafficking is not only about doing something illegal and harming one's life. It has a massive ripple effect that destroys many many more families and innocent people.

      @@jabezalantan6357 What could be more damaging to families than having a loved one framed for drugs who is required to prove his innocence (impossible) and be executed? The government should have to at least prove bad intent plus the illegal act itself.

      At age 18 , we sporean males have to serve the srmy, take up arms and pledge allegiance to defend our nation, without fear or favour. So if you think you are still a young teenager who can do anything you wish like in the West, or break the law , then the rotan ( cane) will be waiting you.

    If you didn’t want to be canned you wouldn’t do the crime. Distributing drugs destroyed people, families, communities, it’s away people’s lives. Making money at the cost of hurting even killing others deserves to be canned or even worse. It is a serious crime with serious consequences which those with short sightedness don’t understand.
