The Train That South Western Railway Are Finally Refurbishing | Short Trips #3

Today we finish the shortest part of the Fleet Review, the 458/5, we go from Waterloo to Clapham to review these awesome trains.
These trains are getting refurbished, the day I went, 458510 passed Eastleigh and I was 1 signal away from it, 458510 is now getting refurbished.
The trains were planned to go to Portsmouth - Waterloo via Guildford after refurbishment and displace Class 450s. The plans were presumed to be dropped.

Apologies for the scene 01:11 - 01:30, I dont know why but my editing software didnt add text, what I said was just about this :
In 1998 South West Trains ordered a fleet of 30 4 car trains called, 458/0s, these were to replace trains such as the Class 411s and 421s, And GX wanted similar trains, called Class 460s, which ran with GX until 2012 when 458/5 conversion started using some cars off these trains.
The 458/5s started operation in 2014 and are now being converted into 458/4s, which will run on limited suburban routes and would of ran on the PDL, to replace the Class 442s.
Heres a picture of a new 458/4.
They entered service last Monday.
The pictures corresponded to the text, GX was the second picture, the 460, 458/0 was the first picture, 458/5 was third picture and 458/4 was fourth.

I love the 458s, glad you did a full video for these ones and the image glitch is a mistake made by a lot of people, depending on your software it can glitch,out so don’t worry about it
