Xenophile Empire: Oh, nice to meet you. I'm so glad we can be friends!
Me, a Devouring Swarm: Nice to eat you.
My first game of stellaris. Going diplomacy with xenophobe surrounding.
My first game I literally thought I'd pressed a button somewhere in the setup. I'd explored 2/3rds of the galaxy and not found 1 non xenophobe.
I think the game actually makes it so that its is more likely for an empire with opposing ethics to spawn near you
The ultimate test of a diplomat
So... this took longer than expected. Only after I finished recording the script did I realize that it wasn't as good as it should have been. Thus I rewrote (and, re-recorded) it, and this is the result! Now I'm happy with it, and I hope you are too. You can also find this video on Reddit if you're into that sort of thing:

Love how he is explaining Stellaris yet Rimworld menu music is playing. Plus a million in my book, well done!
Stellaris features 5 types of ships: Corvettes are great meatshields and pickets, destroyers are failure personified, cruisers are great for torpedos and medium to large artillery for a low price, battleships are expensive as shit but are also really good for artillery, and titans are kind of limited in uses but are really powerful due to the perdition beam.
BONUS SHIP: The colossus is a planet destroying ship with no alternative uses. It cannot fight back against enemy ships, and if you unlock it you should put it with your battle fleet. I use it to destroy every world the foul xenos inhabit, because all worlds touched by xenos are permanently tainted by evil. Additionally if you aren't an asshole you could only use it against the bad guys.
Also the juggernaut is coming with federation dlc it will be a larger ship than titan, and btw I just end up spamming corvettes with 95% evasion lol
I prefer a cruiser corvette combo. The corvettes are torpedo and laser/mass driver. I like to have a 15/15 corvette with half at 1 shield 2 armor, and the other half at 2 shield 1 armor with about 5-10 nuclear cruisers with disruptors or those dank, dank machine guns.
@@duatia5315 pretty cool strat! I usually have different corvettes projects and just build-update when needed in order to have to use the bare minimum fire power to win. I only use corvettes swarm and maybe 100% shields and armor penetration end game battleships to hard counter fe or crysis. I just dont really like to build doomstacks
Duatia Should I build lots of corvettes instead of destroyers early game?
@@euanduffield3897 definetely! consider that if you lose corvettes no big deal since they cost less and are faster to build, this permits you to build ships with counter offensive and defense every time, you will end up being more money and power effective! :) with 1k corvettes with counter weapons you can easily early subject other empires and even take down the 5k titan from the excavation site
Finally, the best explanation of the basics in a simple way, no depth. Ive been looking for this content. After i get the hang of the game, I'll search for depth of content.

I really liked your video, thank you. It was funny and more informative then the other stellaris videos I have been seeing out there.
Love coming back to your videos, eventhough Ive been playing these games for years
Great video, concise but informative and, after spending some hours trying to make my way through the game, clears up a lot. A year and a half later and you’re still helping people!
My favorite thing is to create multiple empires then throw them all into one game
Lmfao that unexpected jab at EA 😂😂 Was not expecting that.

was soooo surprised to see only 1.2k subs. Definitely thought it was a 200k sub channel in terms of quality. GREAT WORK!

makes fun of EA, shows 12 paid DLCs...
To be fair, paradox DLC make the game great in the long run. It's still a shitty practice but at least they work on their games
CK2 + all DLC = extremely expensive but amazing game, same with EU4 and others
Sims 4 + all DLC = extremely expensive shallow game with surprisingly little content (and this applies to all other EA games)
*But still noice and some do worth it~*
DLCs aren't a problem, as long as it's not selling important mechanics, for example I don't understand people that hate cosmetic DLCs, it's literaly just to edit your character if you don't like it don't buy it, it's not gonna make you play less optimaly
Just when I was about to delve into this game after last Steam sale. You are a life saver.
Or should I say, a time saver :P

STELLARIS!!
So my first play was democrocsy as i tryed to make mining stations move (why are they clickable) and have science ships constandly find archiology sites and anamolys. I had actualy no military so i just used a fellow human colony talking about left behind politicians turning into my empore. I dident play lomg as waiting for vicotry was boring and 2 seconds was 1 day. Next up was military dictatorship playtrough. I build a fleet instead of science ship and after using all my resources for fleets after about 100 years i relised i had nothing to do with my fleets and they were usuless as i failed to get any sort of economy.
Next was actually my best one, i went dictator again, name and flag named after famous austrian amgry mustache man, and i slowly qonquered a empire destroyng them, then i expanded more, then i saw this thing in my ascendion perks listed as crisis. I clicked it. After more mostly meaningless wars i got my menacing stuff and i jad 700 fleet capacity out of 300 and by endgame i had 200 out of 500 administrator capacity. As i used my star eaters to kill colonised planets. Around this time my computer overheated and shut down becose it was so demaning game, but took the monitor with it. So now i need to use a 20 year old monitor on my laptop to make it usable after witch i deinstalled stellaris becose its npt my laptop to even begin with. 10/10 expirience, defenetly recomend
Oh yeah also i tryed to reduce my empire sprawl by setting all non-superior races as undesirables, with forced labour, processing and kept my favorite race, the oldest conquered empire, as livestock as theyr reward for obience... fun fact: if theres slave unrest in a city, setting all races to undesirables will cancel it becose theres no more slave labour
I also listen to the Rimworld OST when playing Stellaris.
I just jumped into this video thinking like: lol next "official" video no way it will be fun, just do this do this but there's the humor I love :D
ASpec is way more in depth, but this is the one video I can show to friends to get them into Stellaris, because it covers everything and isn’t 4 hours long

what homeworld you choose acctually has a very minor effect as diffrent types tend to have slight diffrerances in what the reasource lay out is, wet worlds tend to have more food, cold worlds more minerals and dry worlds more energy. though obviously all homeworld will have similar leyout so it´s mostly about what you´re early colonies will have that matter if you gonna midmax

Bill Stutton - Xenophobia, huh? That song is most likely Stellaris anthem by now.
Have you considered doing more in-depth tutorials for the games you already covered?
Vicky 2 one is your most popular video and there is a lot to explain in that game still. "How to play unciv nations" for example.
I think you're spreading yourself a bit too thin with mass production of relatively surface level reviews, which kinda prevents you from gaining much traction with any particular game's fanbase, especially when the game in question isn't as obscure and convoluted as grand strategies and much of the information in the video can more or less be learned in a couple hours of playtime.
Look at RadioRes, Reman's Paradox or a whole bunch of hoi4 tutorial guys like Dustin, there's definitely a market for quality in-depth strategy game tutorials.
Still love your approach to making videos, good luck in the future.
Going more in-depth isn’t a bad idea at all, it’s just not for me. Part of what I do is comedy/entertainment, on top of teaching the games. Sticking with one or a few games makes it difficult to make new material. That isn’t an absolute, though. I have gone in depth with my Tips and Tricks videos for Imperator and Three Kingdoms. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!
