    Cahors is a is city in the South West of France. It is the smallest prefecture among the 13 departments that constitute the Occitanie Region. Cahors is also the name of a famous wine appellation making Malbec red wines.
    Interestingly, Cahors is the only red-wine appellation in the French south-west to use neither Cabernet Sauvignon nor Cabernet Franc. malbec is however often blended with some Merlot.
