Honestly, washing curtains is the best way to give your home a clean smell fast too! If you deep clean and feel like nothing still smells fresh, wash your curtains! The sun warms them up and your softener or scented detergent really shines through

This weekend, Mother's day weekend os usually when I kick off my spring cleaning. It's always what i ask for Mother's day, for the whole family to help me start scrubbing down our home. It also USUALLY means the wood stove is shut down for the year and we can get that area hauled out and clean up the stove inside and out. It may give us wonderful heat, but it also gives us endless amounts of dust.

Wrap the crumb tray of the toaster in aluminum foil, that way when it gets dirty you can just toss the foil and replace!

Hey Delilah, what's your solution for cords? Is it possible to make cords look pretty? I'm not a fan of the cord jumble under our bedside tables (plus makes cleaning under there hard!). Any ideas?
I scrub my doors at times but it is so hard to get some of that dust off even when I scrub it!! windows seem to get the dirtiest to me!!

I live in Brazil, so the windows are ALWAYS open. Even though it seems like a nice thing, everything colects an extreme amount of dust from outside. I wish central ac was a thing here (too expensive to cool an entire house in a tropical country), so I could leave the windows shut.

Duvets suck lol I got rid of ours and will not buy any for my child.. yes comforters take alot of space but I can wash and put back on the same day
I love duvets, I like that the feather insert comes out and I can just wash the cover. I find that comforters take too long to dry because you wash the cover and insert at the same time since you can’t separate them.

Saskatchewan can snow any the of the year even when mild out. It just melts faster in warmer weather. I lived there once for work.

As a barista my heart is crying watching you fill the hopper with coffee that is going to sit there for days and put the rest into a clean jar and display it on direct sunlight...
I'm not even a big coffee person and thought it weird. Coffee likes to be stored in the dark.
@@melindaedgington9925 Yeah, it’s not the best thing to do. Same as keeping it in the fridge. That’s also very old fashioned and wrong way to look after coffee beans.

I would only measure enough beans for the coffee I am about to prepare within minutes and keep the rest in tight container or the original bag closed tightly and store it in a cupboard.
@@MonikaVighovaCZ Thanks for letting me know about the fridge thing. I did not know temp mattered. I have been keeping my coffee in the pantry.
@@melindaedgington9925 happy to help :) Pantry or dark cupboard is the best for coffee. Fridge is bad because there is an unwanted humidity that help coffee go stale faster and nobody wants that :)

It blows my mind how people with multiple kids do this?? I have ONE 4 year old and if I would set up my camera and clean anything anywhere you could clearly see how shes all over me all the time, demanding to play but not wanting to help, its frustrating.

@@Ichigo2058 You wash the whole thing. Like you would do a wool blanket. You could even use a wool blanket as a quilt if you like that look. I wash mine once a year. My quilt is just a cotton sheet with a flower pattern on it. I have wool blankets under my quilt. Then a cotton sheet between the wool and my skin.

Doesnt it get tangled underneath the quilt? Is it annoying?
@@Ichigo2058 I worked for someone once that did not use sheet sets (they had a bottom sheet and a duvet (doona)) but it seems others are like them too. Ideally I would wash my top sheep, bottom sheet and pillow cases (the parts that touch my skin) once a week but because I am a busy working Mum... well they get washed every 2 to 3 weeks. No they do not get tangled I have used them all my life. I am from Australia and this is normal there. May I ask where you are from? Is it normal not to have sheet sets?
Atleast 2 Deep Cleans a year. I refuse to buy Duvets.
