I felt like it was meant to be a commercial for SportsCenter as I was watching it. I never saw this video on ESPN but I wasn’t worried too much.

They nailed the homage to a different world opening. It was hot back in the day. I wish they all the seasons on dvd. The show deserves it. It came every thursday at 8:30pm after cosby show. Every episode was good and educational.

This is a definite classic. The best one so far.
I don’t know how I’m only just learning _SC6_ did this (as I listen to Jamele’s book, which notified me of it), but I’m so glad I did. The first season of _A Different World_ coincided with my freshman year at Hampton University (an HBCU), so that show will always have huge relevance for me. I’m proud these guys were able to pull off this intro.

This recreation of A Different World opening was from seasons 2-5. It was well done. This is another one of Jemele Hill and Michael Smith's pop culture recreations. Besides Hill as Jasmine Guy and Smith as Kadeem Hardison, other Sportscenter anchors took the place of other cast members who were not part of this recreation: Hannah Storm as Charnele Brown, David Lloyd as the late Lou Myers, and Elle Duncan as Cree Summer. other ESPN personnel also took part most notably Cari Champion who was the one who turned Michael Smith's head.

Or maybe people with common sense know that being born of any ethnicity is not something to be proud about. The only thing people should be proud about, are the good actions of other people - regardless of ethnic background or heritage.
Sunday that's innacurate. No white person can outwardly claim to be proud of being white without being labeled a racist by most. Either it's wrong all across the board, or not. In this case it's inconsiderate and alienating. So it's wrong.

Seriously, I come by and watch this once a week. Different World by the fifth season, was a show I looked forward to more than Cosby because I could relate more to it. And they nailed this. Having the cameos of Dawnn Lewis, Darryl Bell, Sinbad AND Glynn Turman. But the subtle stuff is great too...David Lloyd doing the Mr. Gaines "HEY!" as Aretha sings it, Kevin Negandhi dabbing like a wildman as Hannah "MILF" Storm and Jay Harris dance (while she looks at him...ahem, with interest). It's just perfect. I thought Cari Champion's cameo in the Boyz In Tha Hood skit couldn't be topped, but the completely wrecked it with this. Only thing missing was Cree and having Jasmine Guy in there somehow. Jemele should've been Kim anyway lol.
