Charnele Brown always gave such joy filled performances! She LIVED her character in scenes like this one and the wedding ep when Dwayne made his "Please baby PLEASE!" declaration! Her smile is from within!
I related to her character so much because she was dark skinned just like me, which was so refreshing to see back then. I loved how her character was smart, loyal, and hardworking, and sweet but not a pushover.

I’m watching this episode right now, Whitley was the villain for being mean to Freddie about not learning the steps but she wasn’t wrong at all. Freddie was HORRIBLE and everybody kept sugar coating it, being nice, and lying to her.

It was too influential, that’s why they canceled it. The black collegiate percentage was at an all time high when this show was on the air…too much of a positive influence on our community, so it had to go.
Back then it was a necessity in order to be successful in acting. Many of these actors came from theater backgrounds where they were trained and required to have some kind of singing abilities.

When It's A Different World first aired. Some of us who was in high school watch this show. It actually influenced us to enroll in college after highschool. Bill Cosby did state that getting a higher education is good for our youth. Today I do talk to the youth about college.

Back then it was a necessity in order to be successful in acting. Many of these actors came from theater backgrounds where they were trained and required to have some kind of singing abilities.

I was in the 5th grade when this episode aired! My 2 sisters, 3 of our friends, and I, LEARNED THE STEPS..LOL!!!! We showed off our skills on the play ground at school and at home!!!! I miss my childhood!!!! Those were GOOD DAYS!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️☺

When It's A Different World first aired. Some of us who was in high school watch this show. It actually influenced us to enroll in college after highschool. Bill Cosby did state that getting a higher education is good for our youth. Today I do talk to the youth about college.
I know i was right in front of the TV watching this when it aired. This show was everything and put a lot of Black Folks onto what was going on at HBCUs because all of us didnt have them nearby.
