Absolutely wonderful little video Jane, loved it
So true all of your memories of Autumn. It certainly is the most fantastic season of the year and I would say closely followed by Spring, offering new life and promise.
    Take care
    Tim xx

The blackberries are going over early this year but I picked loads and made jars of bramble jelly. Looking forward to the nuts in autumn.

September is Spring for us in Australia. The days have started to warm up but the nights and early mornings are still cold.
The Daffodils are starting to flower and my 2 apple, 1 nectarine and 1 Cherry tree have started to show there new leaves.
The grass has started to grow again after winter and needs regular cutting.
Still to cold to plant tomatoes until the first week in November.

I love to think that there are daffodils in flower somewhere in the world! Hope you have a wonderful spring ☺️

Sounds and looks idyllic! No Aga or freezer (just a freezer box in the fridge) in my childhood but Mum would bake delicious blackberry crumble after we had been to the countryside blackberrying. I usually like autumn but is still far too hot here in London. What I like about autumn (usually) are the cooler days, country walks, making hearty meals and wrapping up cosily. This has been the most un-September-like month I have ever known. The house is like a sauna bath! Can't wait for cooler darker days.🍂❄

It has been crazy hot down here too, although you’ve had it worse than we have. I am finding the mornings and evenings cooler, not enough to put the heating on, but digging out a pair of cosy socks and a flannel shirt is just perfect ☺️

The foraging has been sumptuous this year and the range is lit in the kitchen tonight to dry washing, but also to start apple jelly from cores, while the rest is simmering in a white vinegar for apple relish. Soup as well tonight from the garden, and I can't wait to forage more on the next drier day. I have my eye on some crab apples, and some more sloes, not to mention the fat, bright red rosehips this year.

Hmmmm autumn! I'm not really thinking about gratefulness these days. The rush is on to get as much in bottles and under cover as possible. We have a hurricane that reached a cat. five yesterday barrelling down on us, the forecast is that the centre of it will hit the centre of my house this weekend. UGH! I'll be grateful next week we don't have the rest of the thousands of trees to cut up. A year ago today, Hurricane Fiona hit us. It was the worst damage I've ever seen and it will take a decade to clean up. But 'they' say that this one is no Fiona. Lee is going to hit us front on, whereas Fiona was sneaky and turned in the Gulf and hit us from the rea at more than 200km/hr. I'm expecting much of my gardens, flowers and veggies to be finished.

I counted 36 trees at least a hundred feet tall came down on the north side of our house last year. And our quarter-mile driveway was completely covered with 70-foot spruce trees from a windrow. Honestly, I was shellshocked when I went to feed the horses. I can't imagine it being worse but at least the trees can't hit the house anymore, lol. Actually, the 30-foot cherry tree can and maybe we should cut it down but maybe we should bring the tractor in and brace the tree. We will have to assess that tomorrow.@@hedgecomber es
