About the song: ‘I Don’t Know Enough About You’ paved a major milestone for Peggy Lee in May 1946: her first co-write to become a Top 10 hit, reaching No.7 on the Billboard chart! Peggy Lee had a great head for business and started her own publishing company in the 1940s. Perhaps even more impressive is that Peggy held on to her publishing company despite some desperate financial times. She had no problem selling off diamonds when needed, but she would never sell a song. 🎵

This song was written by Peggy Lee (lyrics) and Dave Barbour (music), shown here on guitar. From Wikipedia: "David Michael Barbour was an American jazz guitarist. He was married to singer Peggy Lee and was her co-writer, accompanist, and bandleader."
No buttons on her shoes! What a modern woman!
'Take your spectacles off a moment Miss Lee. Why, you're beautiful'.
my all-time favourite chanteuse, been listening to this song since 1956
This is my favorite song of hers. Her granddaughter was on the CBS Sunday early show talking about her and she looks just like her.
Who is that wonderful guitarist??? This is my favorite version of her singing this ever!
Dave Barbour, she thought he was wonderful too...and married him.
He first husband Dave Barbour
That's Dave Barbour, Peggy's first husband
her husband David Barbour
Yeah, Dave Barbour was very good. He wasn't an all-world talent like Charlie Christan or Wes Montgomery, but he was certainly solid.
Thanks Peggy, the perfect reminder. A wake up call! Just in time.
Great voice. The texture of the high notes are full and resonant. Most of us boomers saw her on smarmy tv shows in the 50s and early 60s.
Love that piano gettin the last word in at the end! Thank you for posting please don't delete this video!!
hahaha “boom”
Love the sassy, sultry take on this PL classic!!
Great vocal by Peggy, obviously, but this track also features a really nice minimal and thoughtful guitar solo from Dave Barbour.
The guitarist was her husband Dave Barbour
Awesome !
is that Dave Barbour on guitar? (her husband at the time)
I believe so.
I just heard this for he first time and i think sam cooke might have taken some inspiration from the lyrics at the very end of this for Wonderful World (1960) also a great song
is that johnny guitar?
“ you” doesn’t fall between “shmer” and “shmoo” in the dictionary Peggy.
Pretty Perky Peggy Lee!
My father loved her and had a lot of her records.
