Girth brooks there nice work
Another good one man! I like hearing the interjections when you explain specific things. Helps with the understanding.
I think yours are some of the better ones on the Tube from the Raw, step by step aspect. For a beginner it’s really easy to follow and understand how it all goes together. Really cool to watch. Great job!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and the explanations are helpful. I'm trying to explain the things That at this point are second nature to me. But I realize don't make sense to someone who doesn't climb every single day. Thanks
Thank you for showing the difficult parts of going up the tree like getting past that huge junction. I can’t tell you how many of these new channels that cut out stuff like that because they want to look flawless…like they don’t think other arborists realize it. This is why I love your channel. Not only do you post the real deal but you also climb trees like this which are WAY more challenging than the straight spars which constitute 90% of the “fluff”. Tree Life also shows the real deal as well and I recommend his channel as well. Keep up the great work in the tree and behind the camera.
I was a little on the fence about showing most of the ascent, just because even editing it I got bored watching it because it just seemed to be the same thing over and over and over again. But like I've said numerous times especially my fails video I'm not perfect and I don't want to pretend I am, so I will show how I do things, and sometimes I don't make the best decisions, and things don't go as fast as they could but I still keep that part in the video. We do do a ton of Pines, and straight up and down trees, those ones are pretty straightforward, and especially when they get taller people love watching them cuz they love seeing things up high. But the reality is at least where I am on the East Coast we have a lot of sprawling trees, not a ton of tall ones. Although every now and then we do find a couple big ones. I'm glad you enjoy the content, I'll try to keep it going. Thanks
@@ReallyTallTreeGuy I feel ya…I moved from NC last year and the trees in my area were so much easier than here in MO. I’m still learning these sprawling trees and better limbwalking. That’s why I love your channel. Appreciate the feedback. Climb safe.
I second this comment
@@ReallyTallTreeGuy the main reason I like ur videos even more so than August or Buckin Billy is because you show the not so perfect side of tree climbing. Its not always wine and roses up in a tree. Great Job, keep it up.
Definitely looking forward to part 2!
Wow!
Awesome job brother
Thanks
That one was a fatty 😂. I see you’re still getting the max outta those gloves 😂. Thanks for sharing man!
Oh always haha
Hey man, this is the first video I've watched from you, just subscribed, I'm an arborist in southern Brazil. That flip line adjuster is awesome, mine doesn't work both ways, God bless you.
Thanks for the sub!
Its a Gibbs klimair 2-in-1 15' 1/2" steelcore Flipline.
I would think this is the kind of tree that using SRT with you're spikes on is probably the best approach. You can skip to way up top fast and set up your rigging.
typically I would agree, and would have certainly done that, but my plan was to bomb what I could on the way up and as such I decided to use spikes. I do SRT up when there is a huge flare in the trunk, or if there are a ton of vines. I would love to have a ropetec Wraptor to jsut get up to the top nice and quick.
👌 no hubiera sido mejor lanzar hondilla que ascender como hizo??
Absolutely, looking back in hindsight it definitely would have been faster starting out. However my initial plan when I started the tree was to go up and as I was going up to bomb everything that I could. However when I got to the first limb I realized that it would create a crazy Tangled mess both on the ground beneath the tree and also potentially several massive hangers up in the tree and I didn't want the ground crew to be operating underneath any of that. So I decided to just go up to the top and set all my rigging.
Здравствуйте можно поинтересоваться, У вас охватка самодельная? Или всё же покупная?
Its through the company i work for
Your videos are a lot more pure and raw for climbers. Treason and other more famous tree guys seem to talk more but honestly I’m not of fan of that every video. Sure I like to hear an experienced arborist explain his set up of ways about doing things you really show with you physical movements which help me learn more through tactile means.
Okay so what I don't intend on changing my videos so that I don't show the struggles of either getting up into the tree, or dealing with awkward positioning. However I do need to talk more, because I have noticed that the videos that I actually talk in people tend to watch more. Oh absolutely, and I think that's important to show the beginning parts of the tree where you're just getting up into the canopy, which is also why for most of my videos that part is left in almost uncut, to give a actual scale of one how big the tree is, and secondly what potential challenges might arise later on during the removal.
Treeson talks SO much and the videos are way too clippy
We just did a monster oak right before Christmas. Massive seven and a half foot cross the stump five and a half foot across 45 foot up huge.
Great job, buddy, as always, just curious. Why didn't you set a line from the ground? With that i'm been a lot easier or went s r t god bless
If it was me doing it I’d of set a SRT line for ascent and a DRT line for moving around along with a positioning lanyard and a Flipline lol. I an nowhere near the skill level shown here.
Just curious is that a 201 or 194?
Never mind it’s a 201 answered my own question😂
Shame they wanted such a big healthy tree to come down
Yea I agree. It wasn't so bad because all its weight was towards the driveway, but it was definitely a nice tree.
Do you use pole gaffs, tree gaffs, or both?
I have tree gas, the ones in this video look particularly short, because they've been sharpened over the course of several years. One of the first things I did this year, was replaced the actual gaffs on my spikes. So they're back to the full length tree gaffs, it's a little bit of a new learning curve for me, because I haven't had full length free gas and the better part of several years.
@@ReallyTallTreeGuy bro I feel like I’m on stilts when spiking a hardwood with tree gaff
@@FlyingNotchman I definitely feel the same way sometimes.
