  • Have you ever been frustrated cutting letters from card when the middles of letters "fall out" so your finished piece doesn't look right?
    Yes, you COULD carefully pick up each one and stick them on to your card, one-by-one, that that would take SO long.... there's an easier way!
    Here's how to stop the middles of your letters falling out when you cut card with your Cricut machine, using the magic of stencil fonts!
    This video shows how to use existing stencil fonts, AND how to turn your favourite fonts into stencil fonts so that you can use them with ease in your card making projects.
    Here are some great places to get stencil fonts:

    Oh! I love you for this! I have been in complete terror when cutting small fonts that leave "middles" and then trying to get them back to the right space. You are THE BEST!

    Thank you for your help. I am still confused with slice what parts to hide. Is it always the first 2 ?

    • @CraftWithSarah
      @CraftWithSarah  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Not always, unfortunately it is dependent on your particular design and the bits you want to remove, so it can vary. Instead of deleting the layers, you could hover your mouse over them in the layers panel and click the "eye" icon to hide them instead, that way if you accidentally hide the wrong one, you can just click the eye again to put it back.

      You can get script-style stencil fonts, yes :) Or make your own using the tips in the video.

    Omg I've been trying to figure this out for months & every time I tried to find a video for help I couldn't!! I even asked a cricut group I am in and no one answered lol Thank you! How about a design i was trying to make a card with a reef like design. Would i do the same concept? Please help and thank you soooooo much !

    • @CraftWithSarah
      @CraftWithSarah  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes, it would be a similar concept but the design would need to be in sections where parts are connected so that it doesn't just cut the design out completely. Hope that helps!

    Love this! Would love typed out directions so I can print and go step by step without the video. Especially with the one that you alter you a non-stencil font. If I manage to write out the instructions, I'll post here. Thank you!!!

    Love this video. Also since Cricut has updated 1,000 times since u made this video, is there a new way or updated version of keeping the middles from falling out? Thanks and pls let me know. Also, thanks for the video!

    • @CraftWithSarah
      @CraftWithSarah  Před rokem +1

      It's still the same thing to stop the middles falling out - choose a stencil font :)

  • @tjpoling1

    Wonderful video...what is the material you are using, it "seems" firmer that vinyl. Thanks!

    • @CraftWithSarah
      @CraftWithSarah  Před 3 lety

      It's cardstock, not vinyl. For vinyl it's not a problem to have the middles come out because you pick it all up with your transfer tape anyway. :)

    hi sarah, thank you for your video. I am trying to make this kind of project, but since the DS has changed a lot. it made me difficult to follow what you have shown in the video. I try to resize the square but now there in no resize option, its just make it smaller (still square) but not the one you made in your video. I am a beginner and i tried so many times, its always a fail. i hope you can help me. thank you

    • @CraftWithSarah
      @CraftWithSarah  Před 2 lety

      Design Space has recently had a big update to how the Text tool works. To resize the text, not just the box around it, use the corners of the box to resize it, not the resize options on the side edges.

      @@CraftWithSarah thank you very much sarah. I will try again. and thank you also to you videos, its very helpful and I learn a lot as a beginner.

    I'm trying to make a stencil. I've tried following your instructions about 5 ties or more now, and I can't get the yellow to weld into the red to create the space. It will weld into the black, but that's no good, and I just can't get that little piece of letter to disappear. I've also tried it with no red, but that doesn't work either. Can you help? Do I unite the red and the letters (my stencil is 4 separate letters)? I did try that too but it didn't work. Can you help? Thank you! Your instructions are vey precise and easy to follow, so I don't know what is going wrong!

    • @lindart1
      @lindart1 Před rokem

      I finally figured out I have to have all 4 letters in one text box, not 4 separate ones, and it finally worked, but everything changed to yellow , not red. But, success!
