  • #TYSOGoblins & #GlassmanBoppers,
This guest has taken his shoes off so many times, he’s practically the Barefoot Chief Goblin!
It’s comedian & fellow podcaster, Erik Griffin.
For his FOURTH appearance, the boys unite to discuss all the current news effecting the comedy community and how they’re navigating it.
A few deep topics of conversations in this episode include crossing lines with social media DM’s, virtue signaling, understanding your opinion before voicing it, and how to maneuver through difficult conversations while remaining true to yourself.
Albeit serious, we still manage to have some laughs and Rick still remains the benchmark for cleanliness and most things OCD…
Enjoy the episode and wash your hands !

This is the kind of conversation that needs to happen. The fact that Erik is admitting whatever wrong moves he's made in the past but explaining his mindset at the time as well as becoming introspective enough to see the position he's putting the other person is, is a sign of growth. As a woman I would have no problem hearing a guy admitting some vile shit if he was genuinely coming from a place of self-reflection. I would much rather see a conversation like this happening than some woke twitter shit. Posturing is just as defensive as staying quiet or defending bad behavior. As Rick said, this is nuanced and there needs to be a bigger conversation beyond Delia. Just the fact that ya'll are willing to spend most of the podcast talking about this, knowing it will be uncomfortable, is a step in the right direction.

I don't abandon my squad for another, back them up if I'm able to, but if I'm on top I don't follow their advice/direction. So let's consider that merely gazing at the top of the mountain, imagine how much in my own head I would be if I was at the top. What if I was at the top for years?? Commenting for engagement analytics.
Ed. This was an excellent episode. Probably the lowest in laughs, which I didn't go into it expecting. But it was also the most grown up discussion I've heard on any of the topics you covered. Every other podcast is either so against cancel culture they barrel over the issues without empathy, or so caught up in being woke they forget how things actually work. I think society is a lot like cars. In that early on we make huge mistakes because we're still learning how engines work best running on steam or petrol, or whether it needs three wheels or four. These mistakes are easier to pinpoint and correct away from. As we get closer to perfect engineering the tolerances for a decision being positive or negative can get harder to determine. Right now we are in the nineties maybe, lead paint is gone but we still build things that burn superfluous fuel or don't crumple on impact. We know what's wrong, but it isn't as easy to fix as just putting on a fourth wheel. What's worse is all the mechanics just stand around tweeting mean shit at each other. I wish I actually knew anything about cars so I could tell if this analogy was even worth writing out. Well it's done already I guess. Might as well.

I wish I found people in the world like you, instead of heroin. I know that's a heavy statement. I had the exact same child hood experience at school. I had been kicked out of class everyday, suspended constantly, other than being verbally rambunctious. I wasn't the type that brought knives to school or got into real fights. Yet by the end of 9th grade I was put in "alternative" school with all the kids that did do the things I was suspected of doing. And I can't even confidently say that I was being suspected of things like that because like you had experienced, nobody ever really talked to me about any of it they just moved me around and gave me a sad look from time to time when the person moving me around seem to have a heart an understand that I wasn't a violent or mean-spirited person. I say all this after watching your podcast over the last month and finding out about you finding out about your aspergers. Stevie wonders Sir Duke is a great example.
All white keys dull af (C major). Nickelback is an example. (I play piano)
F# pentatonic is probably the first scale you'd play if you're blind too. Keys are sitting up. What do you think?

Been listening to this podcast for a while, and I love the typical bits on here, but damn it was nice to hear some real talk about these recent issues. Should mix that in more often, you’ve got some solid opinions Rick.

Being introduced to the wonderful light of Rick Glassman has been one of the greatest things to ever happen in my life. On every level you get it man. I idolize Seth McFarland, Cam Newton, Luke Kuechly, Sean O'Malley, Ryan Higa, my pops (multiple). But you dude, next fluffin level of pillows.

  • @brydiedonaldsonmakeupartis5684

Proud of you for this Rick! Thank you for your transparency and truths. You are a good dude.

Thank you for posting this podcast. We watch for honesty and appreciate your openness and frankly your balls to show the world what you think. The people criticizing you aren't exposing themselves to the world like you are. Keep it up! You seemed a little frustrated by the end of this episode, but please don't stop what your doing. Don't stop your OCD, your humor, how you annoy your friends, and your snaps and goblins. Be yourself because you are helping people in little ways here and there.

ERIK...lookin’ good babayyy! Keep it up. This was one of the best pods I’ve heard in a while. Great minds breaking down the modern age! Yeah yeah, you’re hilarious too, don’t worry 😘
Edit: Thanks for all of the honesty you two!

  • @rugstwothousandsix3976

Great pod! Love Erik’s view being super middle of the road and thinking introspectively before claiming a firm stance on anything. I dont know enough to post my opinions but support movements that move towards a world where people feel accepted.
