Everyone is a victim. Of Communism.
She thought she was gonna farm a whole bunch of clicks off the woke folks out there.....oh goodness. Why oh why would anyone court that audience these days?
There are extremist, religious, fundamentalists who are more easy going and open minded than the woke. They are poison to any business at any level.
These people keep telling us "Don't like it? Don't play it!", now want games changed to fit their schedule. Talk about being entitled.
Theyâre going to keep complaining until they cave.
Priorities, lady. You had a kid, so now you and Dad are going to have much less free time if you want your kid to be a fully-functioning human being when he or she grows up. Put down the controller and do your job as a parent.
From "My children are my world" to "Kids are disabilities".
They are
Yeah, the "my children are my world" people have always been annoying chumps.
Maybe instead of playing a âDifficult Gameâ like Elden Ring she should be paying attention to her child thatâs apparently putting forks into power outlets? Lol
It's her cope, because she is slowly approaching the wall, lives like a student, has no husband and no children in sight.
Having no children is a blessing. This sounds like parent cope because you're mad that people are happy without little mistakes running around.

That female was a big part of canceled culture. She and bungie and many others on her side got another CZcamsr canceled from playing Destiny 2 because he was a bigger destiny 2 creator. Also that guy was kicked off twitch 4 years ago on false rumors that was proven to be false. To this day she never admitted wrong doing.
Are you talking about the saynotorage guy?
Are you referring to SayNoToRage?
Is it the SayNoToRage guy?
what are you on about, she had nothing to do with SayNoToRage other than maybe reporting/talking about it
For Razor; they know that they won't get the pause feature if they simply ask for it, so they have to "justify" asking for it with words like "disability" because that puts a certain sort of pressure on the developer. I can even understand the desire for a pause button in these games but using these underhanded tactics to beg for it makes me hope they just don't get it out of spite.
People play souls games using a DDR mat. So basically not even using hands. After knowing the lengths some people will go to to make things harder or just alter input methods, I don't recognize any disability arguments.
@@UnderTheIceburg honestly kinda disrespectful for people with real disabilities
Her whole gimmick during her Funhaus era was her being stupid. Guess it wasnt just an act.

Indeed. She succeeded. I feel dumber now.

@@Tycho77 really don't consider anyone at ign a journalist.
As an Australian I must point out that getting death-rolled by a crocodile is a major disability when it comes to playing Elden Ring
So, lets analyze this a little more. She made a video on her channel that she launched yesterday saying, in her words âI am not straight.â She obviously, like many people these days see children as a possession rather than a life that has needs. How does she consider parenting and parenthood as a disability? That means she may not truly value the life of the child over her time to indulge herself. This shows a lack of self awareness and faith. This is what is great about freedom of speech. Youâre free to sound stupid. Itâs so wonderful to know where she stands on this. What a terrible person. Donât have a child or adopt a vhild unless you plan to give them your 100%. Life is precious, and not everyone has the ability to be a parent.
I agree, Free Speech is most important, it can allow a society to be free and all ideas to be seen, criticized and discussed.
This girl got a job as a writer on Santa Monica studios and a full model of her on CyberPunk 2077......clearly sheÂŽs "negotiating" with the right people lol
It's telling that she sees motherhood that way.
I'm a single "gamer" mom with a part time job. My son is the absolute biggest priority of my life & I can't imagine ever thinking of him as a disability. I've never really had much of an issue with Allanah but that's a gross take.
All the kids who got beat wit a wooden spoon now thinking; *and I thought my mom was bad...*
Reminder that she lied about Froggy Fresh.
Not familiar with that. What happened there?
What happened?
And Cyberpunk 2077.
She did. Never forgive her for that
The joke is on her; you actually CAN pause Elden Ring. Look it up.
Oh thatâs right. You had to press a couple a buttons but it was indeed posible
If you want to know why Playstation Studios are going down the drain, it's because they hire people like her.
The kind of person that would refer to a child as a short-term disability are the same ones that would call their pets "fur-babies". I've always thought Allanah was mid. She was the least funny person at Funhaus while she was there.
The word she is looking for is handicap, and it's true, but your kids give you a purpose in life so they may ruin your gaming life, but they make your life real.
She managed to make Deadly Premonition look boring....that's some talent.
Wouldn't pets also be a short term disability?
You're literally more fragile and whinging than an SJW.
She sounds like the people who say things like âmen should raise another manâs child.â They sound that insane to me.

@@DICEBOY22 Gud jOB! Wifout u were wuld we bee?

Correction: she used to be a games journalist. She's currently working as a script writer for Santa Monica Studios. Take that as you will but she isn't with IGN anymore.
She's too stupid for IGN and that's a really low bar to work there.
Oh... oh no.
IGN doesn't do journalism. Never did.
That explains why GOW: Ragnarok was a mess.
My job needs me every week a major disability to my gaming experience
Go neet
I also want to add that I absolutely hate how everything has to be a "disability" or a "condition" or a "syndrome." It's nonsense. I'm not going to bash Alanah over one take but as someone who struggles with ADHD it's ridiculous how people want to create problems where there are none.
She tried to use these words for a fancy way to articulate on the whole "accessibility" subject instead of just calling it "skill level". You can literally replace all these words with that and no one would disagree and make videos about it. Like Charlie aka moistcritical did. But she felt the need to virtue signal as well for whatever reason.
Apparently, it's listed like that in some Microsoft diversity sheet or something. Not sure why that would be a reference standard. It obviously just sounds weird to call a child a disability. And I thought disability was inappropriate for being abilist.
See someone said responsibility and they heard that as a disability.
California is really doing a number on her. đ

This take shows she may not have actually played Elden Ring, because there is a pause feature: it's called the inventory button.
Her whole identity now is centred around accessibility in gaming, so you can expect her to look at everything through that lens - regardless of how ridiculous it is.
Alanah Pearce being a fake gamer and corpo shill isn't news, guys.
Maybe the game wasn't made for her. It wasn't made for me either, but I'm not crying about it. Pretty sure the studio is marketing the game to the people they want playing it.

She went crazy many years ago when she was at the forefront of getting other gamers and content creators banned. And even when some were proven to be innocent people not once have I heard of her apologizing. She's about to hit the wall so we won't see her much longer I'd wager.
@@jdgoesham5381I have absolutely never done this.
What she's saying is that working from home is a bad idea.
It's at worst an antinatalist take, which is surprisingly not as uncommon as you think in many internet spaces.
Some people live their whole lives having never played a video game because we don't need them to survive. Alana can't go one day without her precious Elden Ring what a joke. Having Grandma take the kid to McDonalds or something. If the kid is too young for school she shouldn't be playing games in the first place.
Or just wait until theyâre asleep! I have a three year old and a one year old and thatâs my game plan.
@@ZylinderKaninchen Heck I have to teens and on 8yo, 2 of them are on the Autism spectrum, I still find time to game, even with Space Station 13 an online game without a pause button.
It is called growing up and organizing your life and schedule around your kids.
Pretty sure there are federal laws explicitly defining what can be defined as a "disability" under the law in order to meet certain ADA requirements, and pretty sure "having children" regardless of how old those children are isn't among them.
Alanahâs argument and reference to a disability advocacy website gives me the impression that the âaccessibility in video gamesâ crowd is a cult.
For the most part, itâs people whining that a particular game is moderately challenging, preventing them to steamroll it with minimal effort. Those people have taken to purposely confusing difficulty with actual accessibility options. In Alanahâs case though, it wouldnât surprise me that she did have financial ties to that organisation, given all the shady dealings and undisclosed relationships people in the video games industry have.
they are, and they don't speak for me, some features are nice, but most 'accessibility' 'issues are covered with subtitles and customizable controllers. It's why I got a Dualsense Edge, I can keybind any button and have some more.
How long before blame it on toxic masculinity
âKids as a temporary disabilityâŠâ
Wonder what her relationship with her parents is like. What a misanthropic worldview
I have two daughters, played and finished several games throughout their childhood. It is so obvious she never had any kids.
Kids would be an inconvenience for this woman's lifestyle. Bet she uses abortion as birth control too.
She's not talking about taking Walmart handicap spaces. She's talking about video game accessibility features. A pause button for Elden Ring is very reasonable. Come on now. I agree with almost everything you folks say, but this didn't have to be a huge controversy.
It really didn't. I will say she used the wrong word to make her point and people are refusing to understand what she actually meant.
To me, blowing something like this way out of proportion only lends credibility to the other side calling places like SideScrollers and Geeks + Gamers "grifters". I really can't defend this. She had an awkward word choice. So what? Many people have an awkward word choice in conversations every day. There's no reason for anyone to get upset over this, and if anything, the only explanation I can muster is that woke culture has so infected their (places like SideScrollers and Geeks + Gamers) minds that they can only view things through those woke-colored glasses now.
And the Passport Bro ranks continue to grow larger.
Becasuse she wants you to take care of the child instead of playing videogames?
That's not a disability. Its an inconvenience. You're not disabled because you popped out a kid.
@@bmagadathat is how she is presenting the argument, which is why people have her flak
If paying attention to your small child is getting in the way of your video game time, you probably shouldn't be a parent.
If she's playing a game while her child is sleeping, and her child wakes up because the child wants something, she needs to be able to pause the game so that she can get that something for her child, so the child can go back to sleep. I don't see a problem with a parent who wants to pause the game. Why wouldn't a game have something as simple as a pause function?
â@@G360LIVEMans never heard of online or multieplayer games
I completely agree with Craig. Calling parenthood a "disability" is demonizing the existence of kids. Parenting is a challenge. Parenting is a responsibility. But neither of those make it a disability. We need to call out people when they want to redefine words to mean whatever they want. And to Razor's point, yes, she needs to just say she wants these modes. I live a busy life, and I want shorter games. I've jokingly said there needs to be a "Busy dad mode" in games that allows me to beat a game in 4 to 6 hours, but I'm not making a 15 min video trying to sound smart about it. 3rd point, she's so obsessed with external validation from random strangers online. Why is she so worked up about taking a screenshot of the end credits to show everyone she beat a game? Is this normal? No one cares that she beat a game. Her quest for validation is just silly.
A major red flag. Her disdain for children is seeping through the mask.

FFS just exit out of the game if your interrupted in a FromSoft game. You'll start right where you left off. The only issue is the enemies will respawn. Having a pause button is debatable but I'm really sick of the "accessibility" crap. The final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree is ridiculously HARD, but totally doable.
It is in fact possible to pause Elden Ring, anyway. It's not done by simply pressing the "Pause" button, but rather has something to do with the in-game menu. It's been months since I've played, so I don't remember specifically how, just that you can do it.

How irresponsible does a person have to be think they can grind away at Elden Ring with a 2 year old running around the home?
I agree with that sentiment of "youre a parent, wait until your kids are asleep until you pick up that controller". We used to get called irresponsible when we played games as teens in the 90s, now we're having to tell younger people. At least when we did it we didn't have kids to worry about.
This is a first world thing. In my community we have a journalist who does political commentary around very demanding and dangerous subjects. This is Latin America by the way. She also works on motorcycles and owns two beautiful Harleys. She also engages with her immediate community during holidays. All while raising a few kids. She is far more occupied with her work, passtime, and community efforts than any of these Gen Z "journos" and is still a dedicated mother to, I believe, two kids. Of course. The women where I'm from are real warriors, not like the soft-serve brats of Firstworldia.
What I donât understand is why people without disabilities talk for people with disabilities?
That's pretty common. Then again, you have the other side of that extreme coin - people who LITERALLY make whatever their disability is their entire identity and purpose in life, as opposed to becoming more balanced and rounded people in society.
She's using it colloquially, stupid.
I really dislike it. I only bring up my own in cases like these, beause I really wish mine were temporary or short term, but I can game just fine. Comparing kids to one is absurd.
Parenthood becoming a disability is probably the most first world problem that I heard.
That's a superior feature of the Switch. You can turn it off at any time and pick things up right where you left off an hour later or so. No pause feature, no problem.
I've accepted that with my 2 and 5 year old and family life, I no longer have the luxury of pouring hours into a game without interruption. As Craig said, that inconvenience is more than outweighed by the joy that my kids bring to my life. So, I get the odd half-hour here or there and have changed my game selections and expectations. That's just the new balance that I now have, and it says a lot about Alanah that she conflated parenthood with a disability.
I have three young kids and there are a lot of games I miss out on because I know that I canât devote that kind of time to themâŠbut I will never miss out on time with my kids. I donât need achievements because My kids are my greatest achievement.

Home button can't be used as a pause?
Why would someone play a game that asks your full attention, when you can't?
Heard someone defending her that its terminology used in software development and she has been taken out of context. Ok? Did she specify that in the video? Did the website Craig showed specify that? From what i've seen they treated it as identity with like "more people have disabilities than you think!" Also how long do these "softwarte terms" exist? Wild guess, probably only for the last few years. And why not call it short term hinderence or something like that then?
I remember this chick debating someone on something to do with video games and she had to have her bf at the time off camera telling her what to say. I wish I could remember who she was debating.
So Time Blindness is a Situational Disability... It's all coming together!
Soulsborne games have a pause button it is called dying. Your resources get saved, you get placed into a safe spot enemies cant see and the ggame saves right before

A temporary disability is when you break your leg and itâs in plaster for a few weeks.
Having children is permanent responsibility, not a temporary disability.

The idea that my parents should be labelled as having a LONG TERM disability because I came with the need for them to devote most of their lives just TEACHING ME TO WALK, is disgusting. It's disgusting and she should feel bad.
I agree, but the "advovcates" are now pushing for their version of it, which isn't cool. I do like the options we got now on PS5 and the Dualsense controller though. Having the back buttons makes some things easier.
Yeah, because Elden Ring is going to take care of you when you're old and need help. đ€Ł
The entitlement. The weakness. The arrogance. This broke me.
People still complain about sub fees for certain games. But will spend that enire month worth of a sub on two coffees or a sing meal dining out.
An entire month of entertainment or two coffees you forget about 5 minutes after.
This entire stupid accesibility debate again... Everytime something from software related happens. It's old and tired at this point.
To make it short, not every game has to be made for you. And... Difficulty is an important part of game design.
Imagine you change an artwork because it's a little NSFW (think nude art from the antique) and now children can also enjoy that artwork.
But it's not the same artwork anymore, so the experience they have is entirely different from what the author intended.
Lowering the difficulty in elden ring by enabling easy mode is exactly that, you're not actually playing the same game, you're playing some other game instead.
Overcoming difficulty is such an important part of the design of these games, miyazaki himself said so, taking that away would make the game pointless.
On top of that, the entire souls genre wouldn't exist if it wasn't for these games being difficult. That's how demon souls, a game that sold poorly at first, became a hidden gem and had people talk about it years after most other games would be dead. That's how dark souls got to be such a big game, the difficulty. If it wasn't for that these games would have just been mediocre action RPGs. Another one in a sea of millions. Suggesting easy mode means to just blend in with the masses, why would from software want that?
These people don't understand the impact difficulty has on your experience. On the other end we have games that basically play themselves, interactive movies almost. If you make them difficult for some reason, you'll break the pacing of the game and ruin the story. Every game has one ideal difficulty, and that's the way the designers intended the game to be played. One fixed difficulty is the best, regardless wether or not it's "I wanna be the boshy" hard or "kirby epic yarn" easy.
For every game that's too hard for you, there's a million others to fill that gap. There's no shortage of games. More than you can play in 10 lifetimes. They just want to be part of the current hype game. That's how shallow these people are. Souls games create lots of hype all the time, and they can't stand it if they feel left out. And appearently sucking it up and actually trying for once isn't an option. It's not like souls games are all that difficult to begin with.
I guess there's a reason she doesn't have a ring on.
as a gamer and a proud Dad I refuse to calling my son a temporary disability. She's sick and should get help soon if you can't find time to play is your fault.
You sound like a tool and you're probably going to raise another tool.
If these people want to know what a real disability is like, They should try living legally blind... Like me. THEN, They can cry about it.
Basically anywhere you are at you can travel to a sight of grace, rest and walk away.
I have no idea what sheâs talking about
How would adding a end game splash / stats screen help with any of this?
As an 'actual' disabled person (yeah I got a twisted leg, makes balance hard) there is a simple solution for her 'disabilty'. KEEP YOUR LEGS TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
