  • Apollo Futurebit BTC unboxing - The Most Efficient and Quiet Home Bitcoin Miner
My Apollo Futurebit BTC (batch 1) finally has arrived … I thought I would do a quick unboxing before I set up.
UPDATE: My 4 day profitability on Slushpool video is now up: • Apollo Futurebit BTC h...
My initial impression is the quality of craftsmanship is very high. This is a definite improvement on batch 1 LTC model: let’s put this into perspective Futurebit has had enormous success and they are sharing this now by designing high quality products.
Don’t get me wrong my LTC batch model has been running over 2 years non stop !
SET UP (basic BTC version: hashing board)
You will need a power supply, if you know what you are doing you can use your PC spare cables from PSU (if it is strong enough, I think you will need a spare 300w).
For the USB controller, I planned to use a raspberry pi 3b. The disk images for set up are here:
    - github.com/jstefanop/Apollo-M...
The website support page is a bit limited
    - www.futurebit.io/apollo-btc-s...
The bitcointalk official thread for set up is here

Could you do a tutorial on how to setup this up with the Raspberry Pi?

no, its been running for months, and then it shuts down, hard to restart, and the connection have dropped to 10/32. I dont know if its a software issue or not.

If you are running the full package BTC unit , I would try and re-flash the OS. There should be a link on website to the Futurebit Bitcoin Talk channel (will try and find) it’s here where instructions are. Otherwise reach out to Futurebit (I will look up email). Hey, nice call in SHIBA +30% since your post !!!!

I no longer have the unit. The full version is very easy as it’s ready to go with Futurebit OS (Linux flavour) . The basic version a bit harder.

@@genehobbs1825 just ordered !!! full unit (no power supply). Will make things much easier plug and play. I have a Batch 1 LTC unit that has been mining non stop for over 2 years (mostly mining $NTBC NoteBlockChain, but recently switched to LTC as profitable at 0.01 - 0.013 LTC a day, thanks to DOGE rise pushing the pay out ... LTC / DOGE dual mined). The old LTC unit lives in the shed in the garden, kept the place from freezing ... gets a bit warm now, but I just leave the shed door open. The unit I have is the hashing only unit. This will need to be controlled via USB either Windows or Linux/Raspberry pi: plug and play , more details here. There is a more comprehensive unit with USB controller integrated. More info from here : www.futurebit.io/

@@cryptopathfinder4536 this was the their same narrative for the Apollo LTC , which is now very profitable and due to China cut in hash is at 0.015 LTC / day and seems to be going up. Surprised Futurebit not building more LTC units. So as I was saying the position 2 years ago, was the units are for learning about crypto … don’t think they envisaged the spike or in particular DOGE growth (which is driving profitability). When the LTC unit was not profitable I focused on another crypto NoteBlockChain $NTBC … start up , and it mines it really well about 30,000 / day now .

got one, took 4 months to show up, and it is one flakey piece of equipment, Constant monitoring, and it take days to reach full connections, and once it got there, its started dropping them. Its taken aprx 3 months to approach first payment, and I am hoping it lasts that long to get the 6?.?? payout on Tuesday. It been running 10/32 connections after an hour of trying to get it to boot. Guess what, the company leaves it to the general Linux community to support it.... take your money and buy Shiba..

Thanks for your feedback. Hi have not had this problem. Are you confusing the three days it takes to download the full BTC node (this is a nice feature & you are helping decentralise Bitcoin but you will not earn you any crypto). As far as mining is concerned I find my unit gets up to necessary hash rate quickly and is very stable (it’s not a very high hash rate 2TH-3 depending on mode). The biggest plus is the miner is very quiet and can stay indoors.
