They really needed to do something about its usage of space. It's a large sedan on the outside, midsize in the front seats, and compact in the trunk and rear. Perhaps making it a hatch would help slightly.
Yeah that confused me
I really do like the TLX. It's just a shame it along with so many other cars aren't exactly affordable. I understand that's not its market, but especially with new interest rates, a 45k+ vehicle is hard to justify even on a good salary.
Used 2021 TLX prices have started dipping below $30K.
That’s why they have that integra sedan
@Big.W. Yeah, but personally, I'm not really a fan of it. The premium over the Civic makes no sense to me for what it is.
The "Tiger Eye Pearl" paint color (on the bottom at 4:30) is stunning in person. Might be my current favorite color on any car.
In person, it’s love or hate if it’s not shining detail
My mom just picked up a 2024 TLX Type S and the dealership in Sarasota FL only had the Tiger Eye, but the dealership in Naples FL had the black one. My mother has never owned a black, or even dark colored, vehicle. She chose the black one. It's a stunning vehicle.
I'd get one in blue. Blue cars and blue houses survive DEW attacks.
Dew?
@@joemomma8941 Directed energy weapons. People in the know in HI has their home painted blue because they knew about the attack in advance just like Bush and Israel knew about 9-11 in advance.
I absolutely agree with you, especially on the black wheels and the interior with some hardware and physical buttons and a housing for the instrument panel as opposed to a hideous rectangular screen. I appreciate Japanese manufacturers for holding on to this type of design while keeping a good balance with new technology.
A hybrid option with 35-40 MPG and 300HP would be amazing in this car
They really should add a hybrid option to the tlx since the rlx was cancelled
It’s beautiful, if only they would make it into a wagon 😭then I’d say take my money 💰
I loved the look of the TLX but the refresh is even better. Kudos Acura.
When I considered the Advance because of the camera and motorized side mirrors I was told the 360 camera only works below a certain mph level. So I took that to mean it wouldn't do blind spot duty at speed.
A Spec for me. I like it. I'm not racing anyone and the handling is wonderful.
Sencillamente hermosa ❤una obra de la ingeniería ❤
Love this! Acura must 👍🏼 for me
In Ten years luxury automakers will charge you extra for a mechanical cluster option.
Would love to see your opinion on the Concept Caterham Project V
Just call it the Acura LEGEND already. They brought back the Integra name plate and everyone swooned. Now finish the job: out with the alphabet soup, in with the Legend.
I can see getting rid of the base model, but they should have kept the advanced trim. I know they sell a lot of the A-Spec but not everyone wants black trim. They could have just added an A-Spec Advance trim like on the recent RDX. Also, on the Type -S I like the added content of the 360 camera, but when you spend $54,000 or more the heated steering wheel should be standard. I have a 2019 RDX Advance which I love. I didn't want 20 inch wheels and a donut is better than fix-a-flat.
Acura design is great! The Integra and the TLX are two of the best looking cars, hatchback and sedan, on the road today. Love those front ends! They look way better in person than in photos too, btw.
Totally agree with Bembli on the interior as well. Such a cool design both in and out. Not everything needs to be on a flat touchscreen.
I have a 2023 acura TLX type S love the car but honestly I never was a fan of that stupit plastic license plate sensor cover, the new model looks great with out that the Acura logo looks fantastic just like that.
I hope you can still get the Y-spoke wheels with an HP package because they are definitely the best looking wheels for the car.
I really like the type S. I am partial to sport sedans and I think it’s a beautiful, sculpted and sleek design. Sure, it’s too heavy, thus making it slower than its competitors, but I’m not racing or tracking it. They missed the mark on the black wheels, though. The design is boring.
Good day to you, and thanks for noticing Honda Acura products. I know designers of these products spend hundreds of hours and various parameters to appeal to various Acura Honda customers and gain new customers and this is appealing to many as is. I often hope they gave us more options in colours interior and exterior maybe not nearly as much as Aston Martin who they will partner with in F1 racing 2026+, but some more seat materials and combos, etc, and go back to leading innovations, which in many ways they do but manufacturers like Hyundai kia copy and improve based on reviews feedback. Speaking of Hyundai kia, they have some really awesome designs, but some ore hideous and I think you should fix their designs, not this car.
It's a tough comparison in a market segment dominated by the m340. BM just outsells them by thousands. Give it a twin turbo V8 to create their own M5 but cheaper. That would be awesome
I don’t think acura has ever created a v8 lol it would be a complete fail Honda/acura love small displacement engines they need to bump up the power in the v6 twin turbo it bump up the power by at least 150+ hp crank up the torque as well it’s big and slow that’s problem even the dated q50 is faster
Bmw is a money pit
Also the 3 is tiny. Integra would be its competitor
When is the
Prelude Concept
RX9 Concept
K5 refresh
Videos coming?
The only thing people asked for that they failed to deliver was a touch screen infotainment system… That, and it being down on power deterred me from getting the Type-S.
Yep you hit it, those are the two biggest complaints I've seen and agree with, or being too heavy for the HP offered.
wen Mazda concept and Prelude videos? (P.S. This was the very first comment on the video.....subtle brag )
Dropping the $800 tire and wheel package is a negative. Dealer installed rims and summer tires will be 3 or 4 times what the factory option was.
The black wheels look like the ones on civic sport😂
I thought so too, just couldn't quite figure out which car it came from lol
@popz4470 My friend owns a civic sport, so I have to see those wheels almost every day lol
Acura should open and send their cars all over the world
Can ypu do the Hyper Force next pls?
Its a nice refresh maybe to get a bump in horsepower.... it can be based on the departed NSX technology 😀
Thing still has less cabin space than a Honda Fit?
Take a look at the K5 refresh. Some call it messy. Some call it neat.
New K5 looks cool
I had the 2021 model and loved it.. only thing I didn't love is the non-touch screen in the center.. like, why????
maybe because it's so far back in the dash so it's hard to reach for most people? Did you have the Type S? The only thing I can't get over about this car is the weight. The V6T is around 4300 lbs? It's already significantly heavier than the Audi S4 which it competes with. I was in the market for a car in 2015 when the first TLX came out and I found that one to be quite heavy and not nimble
@@jasonsee4041 mine wasn't the type S but honestly is was so fast and nimble I loved it.. I agree the scrn was too far back but they could've designed it to be closer and make it touch.. I didn't like using the track pad (actually dangerous in some cases). Overall a nice car and would lease another one again in the future
Did they move the heated steering wheel button? It used to be in the upper right corner of the left sided buttons on the steering wheel. It came with the advanced pkg before, I think. Maybe these press vehicles don't have it?
No trim level of the '24 TLX will offer a factory heated steering wheel. It's now a dealer add on only. Bummer! Also, no version of the '24 TLX will offer heated rear seats, which I think is ridiculous too. Why a luxury brand doesn't offer these 2 relatively minor options which can be had on much less expensive non-luxury brands is a mystery to me.
To my eyes Acura should have copied the grill on the MDX Type S and put it on the TLX Type S. The frame outline of the grill looks so much cleaner and meaner with when it's color match with the body, just as it is with the concept TLX Type S
I really wish the update came with the manual gearbox. I'm still hoping
It would be so easy for them. Just take the gearbox from type r or integra type s. Same gear box, but you get what I mean.
This car is nearly perfect, its always the interior center console that kills it for me along with all the current Acura products. Wish it was more driver focused rather than being the same as the rest of the lineup.
It's been perfect since the 2004 tsx came out.. only 4 cylinders of course not the v6 in the later tsx, tlx!!
Bro you're just nickpicky with that lol. The center console and maybe the rest of the dash looks better than my Audi S5. I want this type S as a 2nd car if I could
Was this really worth a video? Other than the interior they basically only changed the trim around the grille
I like the tlx and think it’s a great looking car but I wish they would use the same tail lights as they do in the MDX. The TLX tail lights just look too cartoony
I was hoping for a little more power/torque
Yep my 2022 Kia Stinger GT Elite while it doesn’t have the style would smoke it at the line.
@@joeldawson83 exactly. The cars dynamics are better than an audi s4 boat since it weighs as much as a boat it cant keep up in a straight line. Acura can easily up the power to 370-400 at least
@@joeldawson83it will smoke it in the race to the junkyard too.
@@mikeb7258 Keep living in 2001 bro. Kia/Hyundai outclassing Honda in specs and builds. I use to only drive Honda. Competition finally caught up and is straight up owning Honda/Nissan/Toyota.
@@joeldawson83 I have been driving Acuras for a very long time. I can assure you that a bargain brand like Kia/Hyundai is simply not the same. Nobody shopping this is going to be looking at a Kia lol.
I still can’t get behind the TLX. The A spec loaner car I had was an oddly proportioned vehicle. Too long on the outside, too small on the inside
nice
This car catches my eye feom blocks away but once I sat in one the poorly executed infotainment system killed it for me.
Yeah they have lost a lost of buyers due to this issue and the lack of HP or being too heavy for the $$.
Larder = Visthusbod eller skafferi.
Mazda sp
Ok, you’re the second person I’ve heard mention that HUD and 360 cam may be an option on lower trims- hope this is true. Also, wonder if red interior will be avail on A spec in Urban Grey
PLEASE BEMB............take a deep look to the ultimate CATERHAM electric sporty car.
The huge drive mode selector in the center console continues to be the only deal breaker here.
Can we finally retire primer grey paint and gloss black wheels?! They are so played-out and never looked that good to begin with.
Lower the ride height? Obviously, you don't live up north with pot holes.
NEEDS MORE HP AND TORQUE
HAHA! No it is not! It still has the atrocious TrueTouch touchpad instead of a normal one and/or a touchscreen.
When's the RX9 and Prelude?
In my garage.
Is this sarcasm? Not one more hp, an emblem and some gauges everyone else has already?
Look at our new color: gray 🤦♂️
Nice styling but severely underpowered to compete with the Germans.
Black rims are so beautiful. Not sure why he is complaining. Copper rims prolly looks like trash.
I personally prefer the previous wheels. I have the exact same opinion as him on the wheels & the color. The black just blends away. The dark carbon metallic gray color always wins for me.
I love copper rims, black are boring....different strokes for different folks.
I love Black, copper rims are trash & boring @@fortheloveofnoise
Black is the new cheap.
Black rims are basic af. It’s been done to death and doesn’t work for every car.
LAZY attempt by Acura. This car lacks performance, has bad mpgs, a tiny cabin, awkward center cluster, no touchscreen, and is SUPER heavy.
Also way bigger than it has to be.
It tied the M340i's lap time at MotorTrend and beat the Audi S4 on the same track.
@@TheBreakfastLoverwho is taking there tlx to a track it doesn't matter how fast it goes around to track You're going to see this on the highway
I do, and it's well worth it @@TwoDollarGararge
Nah not a lazy attempt, go watch Redline Reviews on this and see all the upgrades especially on the tech side. You're just like everyone else that makes the same complaints. The car is perfect size, you wouldn't think that unless you see one out with it's road presence
@@TheBreakfastLoverI didn't know that...that means this thing is a beast in the corners. It's more than just straightline performance but these people don't know
Acura type S, needs a desperate increase in HP, if they claim performance, they are lagging on the mere factor that makes BMW, shine with plenty of performance
The standard needs at least 310-325+ and the Type S needs 405+HP it would sell like crazy.
from the first look of the thump of video i thought its an alf romeo
Honestly looks the same bro
larder is pantry
Storage cabinet for lard
a tree for pants
I never liked black wheels. They lose depth, contrast, definition, sharpness and character, both at rest and in motion. Especially in motion, they look hollow and get lost in the dark background of the wheel-well. Zero Contrast with the background.
The car is too heavy and still under power.
I think this car is a mess of overwrought lines, strange proportions, and fake grilles big enough to trim half a dozen Supras in fake air inlet trim. (Why does the Supra get trashed for that but this car doesn't?). I also thing that the back looks stubby - probably because it is. The back seat in this car is tiny for how gigantic it is. And the color innovation, is the gray that Kia has just about turned into a cliche by now and has been on the Stinger since like 2017. And the infotainment still SUCKS. The reason the prototype looks better is the front overhang is like half as long. This car is just isn't it for me.
Exactly. It is the worst of all worlds. Fake rwd proportions. Giant vents for lowest power in class. Worst mpg in class. Heaviest in class. Smallest interior tho the exterior is giant.
I’ve beg to differ on it, being the best looking car out there. And the performance sucks on this car. My 23 x3m40i can out perform this.
Proof it, or it didn't happen
@@xXVibrantSnowXx what do you want me to prove?
If i can just find a base model 2021 acura tlx for 18k - 20k with at most 60k miles id love life!!
Keep dreaming, you are asking unrealistic ridiculously low price.
@blackwhirlwind1245 for a salvaged title? Oops sorry, I didn't mention that, I thought I did ! Lol, a 2021 base model is 25k in some places so I'm sure I can find salvaged for 18k.. the thing is it handles so well that there are no salvage titles out there. The 2021 acura ILX has LOADSSS of salvage titles..
A “GREAT” refresh that has almost zero refreshes. lol.
Too little too late. And that center console is just garbage.
They should have changed the taillights. It looks cheap as hell and feels like a Honda, not a luxury brand
I disagree, it looks gorgeous as hell, love those taillights
Taillights looks good, saw Redline Reviews' and Raiti's Ride's video on this which made me love this car even more with all the updates
Can you also go over new KIA K5 2025 facelift update ? I am a big fan of your channel and I have a huge love for cars like you.
