Hard to believe something that old had lasted the test of time & came out looking flawless 👌 Bicycle spokes, 52 card pickup, schoolyard trades, moms threats to throw all your stuff out if you don't clean your room, countless moves, & who knows what else! That's not just a sports card - That's a piece of American & MLB history.
I agree. I almost bought a Mickey Mantle 1952 tops card at a card show for 5 bucks until the guy said that it was a reprint. I’m almost did buy it until I said no. I kinda wish I did buy it even if tho it was a reprint. Who agrees??
Well we’ll call it Holy Grail 1B lol. The Wagner T206 has always been Holy Grail 1A. If we ever came across a PSA 10 in that card, the market would go nuts. But unfortunately, we never will.
They are both beautiful....there is a one PSA 8 known Honus Wagner T206 that might be 100 million dollar card....The Mantle is the holy grail because its actually attainable to collectors, they can actually own one. There is only a handful of people that will own the Wagner and they almost never come up for auction.
And to think that Topps couldn't give them away in the late 50s so they dumped 400 crates (24 boxes per crate) in the Atlantic. Even without Mantle it would be worth billions of dollars.
Wow. I started collecting when I was a 10 in the early 90's in Canada. Got boxes full of hockey and baseball cards. I still remember writing out every number in a set and trying to complete the set
Being a collector myself I think the industry has gone way beyond outer limits in terms of prices and grading. It’s great to see a Mantle 10 but 50 million? Really? Okay. Remember there are only 13 graders for that company, could that be a bit unfair?
I heard that was never confirmed, that no one can say for sure they got dumped in the ocean, seems excessive and more importantly not cost effective especially with sales down. I hope it's true tho. If they didn't destroy that supply I wonder how much a mantle would go for? Currently it's estimated that 1,800 52s are in existence today
I think you mean the dumb ones. I could print 1000 of those cards that would look exactly like that nobody would know the difference. It doesn’t do anything you can’t flying it you can’t eat it you can’t live in it it’s a piece of cardboard with a picture of some white dude on it. I don’t get it. How simple minded somebody have to be to drop $50 million on a piece of paper with a picture on it. It doesn’t do anything. People need to wake up from their coma. Is it really worth $50 million to have a piece of paper with a picture of some dude on it? Wow. Do people understand what you could do is $50 million? I could buy a re-print for a couple bucks and do the same thing with it that You could do with that one. It’s all in somebody’s mind. The mind is a dangerous place lol apparently.
I had that card back in 2007one of many cards I had sitting in a box, I was offered $200 worth of weed for my b0x.. I sold it...years later I realized how much it was worth & what I had done and I still to this day lose sleep over it
Yeah there’s 3 copies actually. Still waiting on someone to show up one day with a T206 Wagner that was never graded and receive a 10 lol. It’ll never happen, but it would be insane if it did
Amazing people listen to this guy. He couldn’t hold a real job in financial management from any company with his terrible advice, but people still watch his show and he still dishes out his horrible advice.
Zero chance it wasn't trimmed. No way it's getting 50 million. Then Wilson said 100-150 million...come on man. He's been wrong about everything since he joined this hobby
It's hard to say what someone would pay. An SGC 9.5 sold for $12mil in 2022 & I think there are only 3 PSA 10s in existence. I think it's unlikely it would sell for $50mil these days, but it's not farfetched.
@k T this is very true. I couldn't estimate the value regardless because it's only "worth" whatever someone is willing to pay for it, lol. I'm just saying it's hard to tell how much someone would pay. It's highly unlikely anyone would pay top dollar in this current economy, but who really knows.
are there psa 10s of babe ruth, Lou Gehrig, Hank Aaron, Willie May's etc Mickey Mantle while a top 10... isn't #1 always wondered why his RC is the Holy Grail

I agree with you on that. I doubt it is worth that much, but I guess it's only worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
I found a shohei ohtani rookie from years ago in my dresser under a pile of old toys, and it’s at least a 9.5
@@T.Wilson-7it sold for 12.6 which is still crazy
Priceless ..in another 10 years be 100 million card to some Saudia Arabian prince
This is not just a sport card, this is a piece of art that resembles American & MLB history and how MLB came to life. Beautiful masterpiece
This is before our time! For that card to be worth that much means how bad ass of a player he was in his era!!
I'll bet you that $50 million that @psa would give it a 7.5 if it were to be graded under today's guidelines

I've seen countless videos breaking 52 Topps unopened boxes and packs there's more of these than people think
Countless boxes? Doubt it.
That video is going down in history after we are all gone. Congratulations
The best in the business 😉👌⚾️
Wish I would have bought a 52 Topps Mantle back in the early 80s… Now even the lower grades of this card are not affordable….
Easily the one of the best double printed second year base cards ever. Even if this one is diagonal cut.
I don't think it's trimmed but I do think it's over graded.
It’s actually 12.6 milliin
No, that was a 9.5 graded card 🤦🏼 so apologize

You really should interview David Hall, the original owner of this card. And how the hobby forced him to sell!
1) there’s a reason why it’s still in an old holder because it would not re-grade a 10
2) the estimated value for PSA 10 is about $20-35 million
does anyone else have the intrusive thought to rip it in half
I'm a buyer at 75% of comps max. PayPal G&S only and I need it coined.
