  • ABC11's Steve Daniels spoke with John Nance who is an ABC News aviation expert and retired airline pilot about what to do when turbulence strikes. This comes in the wake of the severe turbulence that is blamed in one man's death and injuries to dozens of other passengers on a Singapore flight from London to Singapore.

    some people said you immediately demand a face to face explanation from the pilots and apologies from the crew and stewardesses with any damages or emotional stress being calculated later when you have some time to gather your injured senses and try to make fair and secure sense of it all. however that is not advisable. the correct approach is to either bail out with a chute, trusting the others will have and do the same, or to close your eyes and humm loudly and go to your happy place at a taylor swift concert until the ordeal has ended.
