Same here but I only have experience with steel. That weld test is gonna suck for me. Wonder if I offer a low pay rate for hire as collateral till I'm up to par with quantity will help.
Welders need more aluminum mig videos with both different wires 4043 and 5356 !! Big difference when welding and also with different mig welding guns… welded aluminum tank trailers and I won’t lie I burn thru before but also as you get better you learn to control your wire speed/ voltage…. This gun made aluminum welding look sooo easy since it is great machine but definitely most spool guns don’t run like that ! Great job to Jordan tho clean welds
Couple things, could you clean the ceramic off the root so we can see the penetration. Also, I cannot find ANYTHING in regards to ceramic backing for aluminum mig in 2G position. My 3G plate came out nice. My 2G plate has undercut on the upper toe in back but the bottom toe is clean with good fusion. Is it my angle or heat? .035" spool WFS -500, V- 21
I would love to see and know more of the aluminum pulse mig welding with more longer form explanation of the machine and process for us slow learner. Like the conventional vs profiles and setting choices Is there anywhere I can find more more info to read and watch. I do use some like these everyday for 8 to 10hr in fab ... just self taught though.
Nice welds, Wishing to learn all the settings on that feeder , I’m currently welding aluminum with a mpa350 and a older alumna pro feeder, we’re always fighting with porosity on the welds , can’t get the machine to rurn right ..

Usually 5k wore when doing migaluminum unless your anodizing and don’t want two color tones or it calls for a specific series. In my experience 4K and 5k are most common.

Agreed when I’m in shop making repairs I have a push pull when I’m doing full hull repairs out of town I have a spool gun runs completely different
