- On this episode of Ben's Worx I carry out an experiment using epoxy resin and crayons, I attempt to melt the crayons with the resin heat as we watch from inside the pressure pot with potcam.

You should make a set of Dragon Balls! That'd be pretty cool.
When I was in grade school we took a trip to the crayola factory that was like 30 minutes away. It was pretty cool to see how they make crayons and markers.
That was a lot of fun to watch!
Hey pal, are you ok? I was waiting for your video of the week.
I hope you’re ok.
Hi mate, yeah all good, I’ve been doing live demonstrations at Hare and Forbes all week so I didn’t have time for a video, I’ll be back this week 👍
would be interesting to see all the shavings from one colour family - a bunch of different blues and purples together would look awesome
Use a pencil sharpener for thin even shavings
No.
@@frankwilliams4445 yes. 😂
@@snowytiger957 NO!!!
@@snowytiger957 NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
@@snowytiger957 YESSSS!!😂
"You can use all the Tuperware you want but don't you dare use the cheese grater." Turned out amazing.
Lol, thanks Mate

@@benallen2939 Well said
I think you should try it again but try using different values of the same colour, eg: different blues, red with orange, bright shocking pink with purple, different greens, etc. . Just a thought! 🌹❣️
It looks like one of those giant bouncy balls we all had as a kid
When you said you went into the kitchen, I thought "oh no, his wife will kill him" lol
Hahaha
Next time you work with crayons pop them in the freezer and you can pull them out of the paper really quick and easy.
Okay the brown soup was just as I had expected, and I was not sure how you would make this look decent. But when you turned off the light for that last shot I had to admit, that looks pretty cool.
Impressive outcome, I'll definitely have to stop into Hare & Forbes next week to see the man, the myth, the legend in the wild. Hopefully I remember lol
At first I was not super impressed, but the lighted close up gives it that WOW factor. I love your spirit of trying things out and showing us what happens.
11:55 If you go to the Dollar Store (or your local equivalent) and get a set of cheap measuring spoons, you can get the pigment powders out of the bags and into the small mixing cups a lot easier and with fewer spills...
They will also help with large Resin Projects as you can precisely measure the pigments into each batch of Resin making Colour Matching the different batches/layers a LOT simpler...
Another win. You should write a book of sorts. An A-Z on resin. From tools, to times, to brands, sand paper or micro pads, pros/cons of UV, tips on removing bubbles, proper pressure pot technique. The whole 9.
We're a little late watching this one BUT coming from a Dragon Ball family, we can tell you definitively that Shenron approves. 🐉💚🐉
That was a great pot cam!! The movement of the shavings was an awesome example of convective currents. Amazing!
Gee wiz Ben, you pulled that one together well. I love the addition of the LED. Your thought process was working overtime with this one. Absolutely clever stuff and well made.
with the light shining through, it looks like a beautiful small galaxy! i didn't have much faith on this piece at the start but it looked really good at the end
Oh man that light in the stand was exactly what this piece needed! Looks incredible with the light showing all the little pieces inside of it!
That turned out so stunning. That pot cam is the bomb, great footage.
Ok for the next crayon project I have an idea. Not sure how it would work but that’s where your brain comes in lol. Find a way to protect the top half of the crayon. Take the paper off the bottom like you did before. Then set them in resin facing up like they are standing on the table. Then as they melt it will melt the bottoms.
It’s worth a try 👍
Please don't let Nicole talk to my significant other, she may clue into why some items are missing. LOL.
Next go, maybe use similiar color crayons? I think you could tune the coloration of it that way for specific overall tones. Neat effect!
Thanks Mate
Here's my paused prediction, I'm thinking it will heat up and the wax from the crayons will float to the top but hopefully mix together swirly and melty... hopeful I guess?
- yay I'm glad it didn't all float up, just the big parts? Good call on the orb, the color was definitely like a dragon ball Haha.
Love the stand idea as well, the light really brings the sparkle!
Kinda looks like a snow globe! Really cool work!🥰
It would be really cool to try making planets with different colour combos and maybe uv as well!
do one with a whole crayon floating in the middle of clear resin. I bet that would be super cool!
I think I would've made a vase, but I don't know, I like what you did too👌😁
OMG! That reveal just blew me away! That is a spectacular result. 👍
Thank you for innovating and experimenting, Ben! I appreciate your work and that you're trying to find new things to express your art!
This turned out completely different than what I thought in all of the best ways. The orb is beautiful and lit up it’s almost ethereal. I loved the stand, super creative callback. The crayons in the resin truly transformed into something different. Enjoy your expo, I’m only bummed that I’m in the states and not able to see you in person!
Great job Ben as always and the wife got her starry night dragon egg for her birthday yesterday and she said thank you so much for making her egg she loves it
Thanks Ray 👍
I love the narrative as you work with these projects! Thank you.
Oh wow, you really pulled it together on this one! I didn't think this could be turned into something as nice!
Wish I could come see you in Queensland. Had some good times there 12 years ago 😄
Thanks Anne
Having seen what happens to most folks and myself with shavings, they should all wind up sinking, but since you are using resin much like the stuff I use, I really don't know what will happen. I hope the resin and the shavings do something super freaking cool man. Thanks for the video as well, see you at the end!
after seeing what happened in the pressure pot, why not try just a single color of crayon or different shades of that color
Was impressed with the vacuum cam
Multicolored snow storm in a globe!!! Cool!!!😎😎😎
I like how you like to take risks and you make them work. The outcome it’s always a good result! Thanks Ben.😷
Turned out pretty cool Ben! Have fun next week!
When you are using the grater on the crayons, you might get a different result if you cool the crayons first.
Your right Ben I was pleasantly surprised I thought it would be a brown mess
It looks absolutely amazing! I love the way you incorporated the crayons into the base. It looks cool unlit but when lit the effect is stunning!
gotta say this is my favorite
one to date! Just stunning!!
God bless
Very cool. I didn’t think the light would do much, but it looks like water. I love it.
That was a great project and I really liked the pot cam. That was a great idea.
The things you make are always so breath taking great job
Amazing! The effect is ethereal.
Brilliant Ben!! Looks a little like a planet... Maybe a new planet series...?
@11mins it reminds me of one of those Bouncy rubber balls we used to have as kids.
That turned out awesome. Love your videos. Look forward to seeing them every week!
Ben you are an absolute angel, your calm presenting style and music, and really wholesome content is lovely. These videos really help me come down after a panic attack. Thank you🤍
Geez I wish I could help you come down from your panic attacks
@@Prada_GT What do you mean?

Great job Ben. Looks great.
It’ll work out splendidly!
This is the best gift a Teacher can get.
Beautiful work as always Ben!
Wow looks way more impressive than I thought it would turn out nice work keep it up
That's looks great! And the stand for the orb is perfect.
The orb is stunning. Fantastic job as usual
Enjoyed this immensely. Thank you
Wow another amazing project.
This turned out amazing!!!
I was absolutely pleasantly surprised. Awesome project.
Very awesome. Love it. Great job as always.
The stuff you make is so cool. And the music you have when showing the finished product is awesome.
To me it turned out perfectly. Just as I was hoping and expecting it to. Amazing work of art once again
The colors are awesome 👍. I love it ♥️
Wow that came out so nicely with the stand and light 🤩
Lovely 🌹🌹🌹, it looks amazing and it even looks like glittery effect
That came out so cool!!!!
That turned out really cool.
No matter what you make, I am always amazed and inspired. Keep it up dude. 🤙🏻
I love it!!! Great work Ben👍👍
Thankyou
Great idea
love the pot Cam I look forward to seeing best visual treat on CZcams

Thanks Mate
I THINK IT'S AWEŚOME!!!!! TO USE CRAYONS TO CREATE A STAND IS AMAZING!!! MOST PEOPLE OF NON-CREATIVE MIND'S WON'T GET IT , BUT PEOPLE WITH ARTISTIC CAPACITY WILL GET THE CONCEPT STRAIGHT AWAY. IT'S THE ABILITY TO BLEND COLOUR WITH A TASTE OF IMAGINATION. WE NEED OUR LOVE OF COLOUR AND ABILITY TO IMAGINE THAT MAKES US , ARTIST'S AND OUR ABILITY TO USE SEVERAL DIFFERENT MEDIUMS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF OUR PROJECTS.
Love it, great idea for the stand 👍👍👍
I think it will either mix together as it solidifies so that you get pockets of brown or it could all stay perfectly encased I don't know the melting point of crayons vs how much heat is being produced. Also speaking as someone who has "given" flesh and blood to virtually every grater that I've owned watching you scrape the crayons gave me anxiety so glad you didn't get hurt :)
Addendum: holy cow that worked great! when I was a kid I had a toy that would shine constellations on you ceiling and had a bunch of different plates that you could use that had different starscapes and constellations. this looks so much like how I thought it would before I used it. like you're walking among the stars. absolutely amazing!
I’m banking on a neat looking blank. Well, I guessed right. I was really amazed the way the crayon bits were suspended throughout the orb. Very nicely done. Enjoy your trip. See you next time.
That is bad ass my friend! Paired with the lighted stand, it’s truly impressive!
another good looking piece Ben I loved the pot cam as some of the colours stretched and flowed.
That turned out great
Stellar! Really! This orb looks like it is holding stars!
love the videos. keep them coming!
Very cool Mr.Ben!!! 👍😁
Wow what an imagination you have. I love watching your videos. I just discovered your channel. And it's great. Thanks and God bless.
Wonderful orb.. It turned out beautiful.. Keep up the good work..
That is super cool. Nice one.
Super job . Thanks
That is pretty cool, Ben! Good video!
Juist gorgeous and really unique/original!
Awesome project!!!
Its beautiful amazing awesome and extraordinary work as usual 😀😀😀😀👍👌👏👏
i LOVE your work.
im not even good enough at resin to call myself an amatuer.
Thanks Mate
The result is a miniature map of the explored universe!
That is pretty! Well done.
Thanks. Love your stuff
Not what I expected, turned out amazing...
That turned out really cool!!
Thanks Carol
Looks beautiful. Also love the interactions with your wife ☺️
Owwww ben. That’s simply awesome in light mode. It looks like stars in orb. You know what I also make some resin thing like paper weight or small toys for my kid. I tried crayons 🖍 but my project was completely ugly looking. I throw it after. In the staring of this video, i was afraid 😱 that its not gonna turn out as expected. But wow, that was crazy satisfying awesome looking ball. Loved it. Will wait for next project. 🤗 all the best for live performances.
That turned out amazing especially with the light on it.
Very cool project Ben awesome
