Here's How: As you go through your day, look at the shoulders of the people around you. Their shoulders will give away the burdens they carry. Pray for them; carry their burdens with them. If you feel emboldened, ask someone what they’re going through and take one step toward carrying it together.

There is a person in my life who needs help and to do so I am inconvenienced
It is ironic how I ask God to use me to make a difference but when the opportunity arises I balk at it, not wanting to be inconvenienced!
Today's message reminds me that putting others first is a service not just to them but for the Lord. And joy is derived from this service
Often I do feel joy in being able to do something for someone. It gives me a sense of purpose. Lord help me to serve willingly.

Powerful. Throughout my 40 plus years of ministry I have tried not to allow the inconveniences of other people get the best of me. There were times and even today I have to dig deep to allow those inconveniences to become opportunities to serve God. Not easy. Thank you for the encouraging words. It's fun watching John fiddle with his glasses. Now that he has gray hair, he needs to hang them around his neck. Smile

Encouraging words to continue this phase of my story. It’s sometimes lonely until I receive a reminder thatJesus’ “burden is light” and I’m walking with him as I try to share other’s burdens.

Nancy, I too have a Joy, but her name is Gayle. Our parents became great friends because of our friendship…w/in the past few years she lost both parents. About a month ago, she texted a picture she found in one of her dad’s coat pocket, it was my dad’s program from his Celebration of life.
We didn’t know how much my dad meant to hers. It was an amazing gift 💝 to discover~my dad passed away in February 1999. Her dad passed away in June 2019.
Relationships are so precious 💕🍃

Story matters, and stories told touch our hearts in deeper ways than almost anything else. This story has me in tears, and that is unusual for me. “I do it for Ellie…”.
My mom died of Alzheimer’s at 72. A few years before that my dad was in the hospital an hour away recovering from a quintuple bypass, and I was in the local hospital ER with my mom, who was horribly ill with food poisoning. I was going to take her home and stay with her that night. The doctor had picked up on enough of our story to realize the burden I was carrying. He said, “ I’ll hang another IV bag. You go home and pack up some clothes and pick her up in an hour.” He saw my story, he lightened my burden. May I have eyes to do the same.

This episode brought me to tears. My husband has late stage Ahlzeimers and I can relate to the story of your friend in a nursing home, just being present as God is with us

Flannelcraft❣️❣️ I, being older than you Nancy 😮 also grew up with those marvelous stories. My Grandmother was friends with the blessed woman who originated it. I'll never forget visiting her home & going down to the huge basement room stacked with thousands of flannel stories❣️ Somehow, that childhood memory led me to another: going to a Billy Graham Crusade❤ thousands of us❣️ I don't remember much about the sermon😮💨 but that awesome tenor George Beverly Shay 🎶🎵🎼 still rocks my world. 'God is still on His Throne' *Sigh* Those were the days...
