I agree with her. She's not a comedian and it's the first interview I've watched from her. I watched the Miss Fisher's series in English, so I think she is an actress as she says. That's what I humbly think having watching her in other famous films. She's more like a secondary actress with good luck.
The presenter, Matthew Stadlen, has no more an "estuary" or a "modern" accent than does the Queen. He speaks and enunciates beautifully, unlike the vast majority of TV people today.
That interviewer was crap and I think Miriam would agree. Miriam is not a provocative comedian, she is a witty entertainer. I saw her first cameo as the Spanish Infanta on Black Adder and have loved her ever since. I'm proud she has chosen to be an Aussie now. We love her here in Australia and show her more respect than this interviewer did.
She's not always truthful---watching her on many chat show occasions, they encourage her to be outrageous, and she always obliges. She clearly loves the adulation from the audiences, and so get's far more vulgar. I'm no prude, but she resorts to shock words too often. She has great story's to tell, of her experiences on and off stage.
