If you haven’t caught Miriam on Graham Norton, head there next. 🥰
Her bj story had me in tears.
💯
Also then watch her itv *This Morning* interviews with Phil & Holly
The episode with her and Will.i.am is priceless.
Soo many stories from her on that show is hard to recomend just one... but her breaking matthew perry's spirit with her Olivier story is special
Please - treat yourself. Every single appearance is hilarious. It is mostly adult content tho.
Don’t miss her w/Dominic Cooper while he tells his super embarrassing story.
She just embodies the word ‘delightful’.
That's exactly the the adjective I was about to use before I saw that you had already said it perfectly!
@@maryroberts589 Oh my gosh, me too! My exact thought was, “What a delightful human being.” Came here to post that only to see it’s been said :)
happy birthday
She is exactly the opposite of delightful.
Delightful is a terrific word to describe her.
Miriam be like “oh, I’m ashamed of that. Well anyways, here’s the story in 4K HD.”
Sheer candour
I love how she says she was embarrassed but she tells the story with pride 😂😂
They talked about this on Graham Norton and he said she announced "Pause for fart! " before she did it. He demonstrated how she did it with her hands up and legs out, similar to how you would start a cartwheel.
@Cassandra Thompson And absolutely revel in the damn things! 🐣
m.czcams.com/video/6jfcIrby0vE/video.html
There are several parts. That’s the first. Do yourself a favor and watch the whole thing. Anyway, from what I gather she enjoys making people laugh more than she values her pride. As do a few of the women featured. ☺️ I just love, love, love her to bits.
yeah happy birthday
That IS what it means to be British 🧐
I love Seth's reaction to her and appreciate he didn't interrupt her.
YES!!!!!
Seth is so good at just letting interesting, fun people like Miriam talk. He'll throw in the occasional little prompt or question, then just sit back and let the guest do their thing. It sounds really easy, but it can be difficult for some people to a) keep their own mouths shut, b) not interrupt, and c) know when someone is going to talk a lot and be interesting or just talk a lot and need some interventions.
Love her! She's a national treasure
@@barbararoden2757 I agree!
Yessss... I bet Jimmy (both) would have interrupted so many times, that she could have lost interest...
I was thrilled to see her in the thumbnail, Miriam never disappoints
I've seen all her Graham Norton appearances, 10 times at least!! Love her so much 💚😁 will definitely be buying the book - audio first.

SO AGREE!!
@@user-fp5vf9qh3i Yes!!! 🤣🥰 "No, try saying it without 'like' " and he was trying his best 😅 the cutest friendship ever between those two 🌷✌
She's so refreshing! ❤
“I’ve slept with a curious variety of humans”. Me too! Love her
“If you tell the truth, you hurt people and I don’t like hurting people.” I can’t tell you how deeply I understood this statement.
But she does hurt people!
But "scarred" or "wounded?"
@@user-fp5vf9qh3i a clever tactic say it then apologise!!
@@mikeantonio3163 a tactic implies it was done deliberately. You can always accidentally or thoughtlessly hurt someone.
@@mikeantonio3163 everybody hurts everybody.
May the swirling vortex of my life travel ever closer towards Miriam and becoming more and more like her. She is life itself. Air, laughter, joy, all good things.
Damn that was too kind and beautiful for a CZcams comment
Lol bs :)
and a mimsy that looks like a fungus ridden tree
She’s one of my favourite guests on the Graham Norton Show as well. She’s always come along as a self-confident, genuine, authentic soul who’s completely unafraid to speak her mine
Her most recent high profile statement is that she says she thinks the British PM should be castrated.
If a male actor said the equivalent about Jacinda Ardern or Angela Merkel they would never work again.
But in our strange woke world Miriam has a free pass.
Cat Hat mmhmm
You should also watch her as a guest on This Morning!
@@catinthehat906 , everyone knows Miriam is an 80-year-old lady with no filter.
@@catinthehat906 You people, seriously.
You have to love this woman's effortless honesty. For an actress, she doesn't like any pretense... She doesn't even hide the wheelchair or the clutter in the kitchen. It's all there for the world to see, warts and all.
You think that’s clutter? Haha, you would have a stroke in my house.😂 She’s awesome.
You can see that Seth is genuinely thrilled to have her on the show
I love how Seth enunciates his words a little more clearly for this interview.
If you have a moment look up her interview on Graham Norton regarding her stage door interaction with Sir Lawrence Olivier. It’s a CLASSIC!!!!!! You couldn’t predict it.
I used that scene as my introduction to Graham Norton for newbies. Everyone is always speechless. I also like where she makes friends with Will I Am. Homeboys=chums
I like the one where she catches the soldier whanking off in the tree !
@@anthonyhebisen YES!!!! I screamed with laughter out loud right now!!! So fucking funny!!!
Matthew Perrys reaction to that story made me choke on my laughter. She is amazing!
To this day I can’t queue up for autographs at the stage door without having that story replay in my head, she’s such an amazing and unfiltered treasure
She is so thoroughly entertaining. The queen is lucky to have met her.
happy birthday yyayyyyyyyyyy
I agree. I'd rather meet Miriam than the Queen
@@kevinriddell2105 Agreed, one has talent she put her heart and soul into.
The other just won the genetic lottery on what family she was born into and where in it - and has the luck of that position to come into contact with the best and brightest of the land, for a few hours anyway.
I’m actually surprised she did not know Miriam from all of her films.. she has a HUGE back catalogue of classic films like Remains of the Day that I’m sure Her Majesty watched and loved
OldRaver1 she probably did but she always asks who are you and what do you do just to be fair
Petition for day drinking with Miriam except it's just Seth drinking in order to get on her level ❤️✨
She would eat him alive😂. Where do I sign?
Omg I'd love that 😂
yes!
Ehrmegherd I can’t even wrap my head around how epic that would be.
I have watched every one of her appearances on Graham Norton so many times it's embarrassing. When I've had a bad day, I watch one. You never know what she's going to say but it will honestly be whatever she is thinking with no filter. If anyone has not seen any of her appearances, I highly recommend the one with Will.i.am.
its not embarassing pls they are iconic appearances
SAME!!!!!! 🙌 and her with Will.i.am is also my favorite 🥰 although I love how Craig Davies reacts to her story too 🤣🤣🤣 either the guy in the convertible or the soldier in the tree, I can't remember, but...priceless 😎🤣🤣🤣
Ive never heard of her that I know of, though Ive of course seen the films…I think I’m gonna buy her book, after I watch all the GN eps.
I love the one with Matthew Perry...creamed in her knickers!! 🤣
@@monicac9643 yes!! and he was SOOOOOOOOO uncomfortable 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 it was hilarious
'Dolly Parton... absolutely the best sort of American', spoken by Miriam Margolyes... the absolutely best sort of British-Australian. :)
Is she Half Aussie ? I had no idea
I totally thought I was the only one who was obsessed with this woman's appearances on Graham Norton! I was a bit worried she wouldn't be quite as genius on her own (she's good with the other guests on Norton's couch) so it was awesome to see her in such fine form.
I love how he acknowledges 'You're on loan from the Graham Norton library', like YES FACTS! 😂
Love her so much!! She narrates her own audiobook!! She’s the best reader
🥰🥰❤❤
It the whole world apparently :)
Love how Seth genuinely laughs with joy. It’s the Miriam effect.
Miriam Margolyes is a rare and precious gem - such a delightful woman - so pleased Seth you not only had her on, you are familiar with her appearances on Graham Norton - always such a joy to see her, thank you
I've loved her since Blackadder.
LADY WHITEADDER!
".....Reminds me of our wedding night"
The Spanish Infanta from Blackadder is some of my favorite work of hers. She should live forever and teach us how to be more comfortable with ourselves as a species. I was so relieved that she liked Seth. Long live Ms. Margolyes!!!🌈
Luck?…wehey?…come on, sounds almost exactly like Fu..!
Yep she stole every scene without even trying.
her delivery of the words 'devils dumplings' is some of the best comedy acting of all time
I can’t imagine better way to read her book by listening to her reading it!
"I'm a voluble, left-wing lesbian". That's my kinda gal
Yes, the very best kind of lesbian is the left-wing voluble kind, we'd get little done in this world without them!
There is NOTHING worthy in being left-wing.... nothing whatsoever. Absolute grotesque cult of hypocritical paedophiles, liars and the dross and excrement of human waste.

Could be worse- could be right wing.

I've met her and she is absolutely delightful person.
She was so happy when I told her she was on my bucket list of people to meet and she had a huge influence one growing up .
You can tell Seth is a genuine fan. He’s so sweet and lays back and lets her take the interview.
I was worried Seth wouldn’t know what to expect 😂 I was so relieved he knew exactly & obviously loved it 😂
Definitely needs to be in person next time tho 🤞
The way she ends her story about farting before meeting Dolly Parton with "She didn't know about it." is so charming, as is just about everything about this delightful woman!
National treasure. Legendary recounter of filthy and hilarious tales: 60% of her chat is unfortuantely way too "fruity" for US TV!
This lady NEVER fails to shock me as a guest. I adore her!
I have never heard someone so eloquently describe "a crescendo-ing, powerful fart." LMAO 😂😂😂
She both terrorizes and enthralls whenever she speaks, which makes her a wonderful guest.
Oh to be the transcriber of those Miriam Margolyes interviews, unfiltered! What a treat!
This dear woman is not only a treasure to the UK but to the world! God bless her! Every single time I see her interviewed, I smile and/or find myself chuckling. Absolutely adore her! 💜💜💜 love from Jackson, Ohio!
Miriam is the epitome of a classy person who won’t stand for any crap.
Love this description ❤
This woman is a master storyteller. I've never seen her in a movie. Never heard her read a book but have seen her on every time she's graced Graham Norton's couch. Her diction is sublime. The posh juxtaposed with her saucy sense of humor is infectious.
She was in Harry Potter I think
@@Lara12379 You are right, she was.
She's been in far more movies than you'd imagine, I'd be surprised if you just didn't realise that you have seen her after all.
I can only hope to be a cool as this woman as I move through time.
Just more proof that Miriam Margoyles in an absolute treasure. She single-handedly restores my faith in humanity.
I love her stories!
“The best sort of American.” Thank you, Luv. How gratifying!
That's very true, Dolly is such a wonderful, kind altruistic person, she makes me proud to be an American, and I just wish there were more of her kind in showbiz!
He ain't kidding about the Graham Norton appearances. She's absolutely amazing pretty much every time.
OMG OMG I cannot believe you invited her! I adore her!
I feel so much better after hearing this story because i also had a similar experience with one of my most admired musicians. I did something stupid and annoyed him and got told off. I was so embarrassed i wanted to reduce myself to a molecule! I was so upset i was shaken and felt teary the entire next day. But now i can see that it can be turned into a story! Thank you!
This is such a nice and charming conversation. Her fart story was so human haha.
Whenever I see her, I think about cheekily shaped turnips.
Ah, Blackadder season 2 😂😉
Great Boo’s up!
Luck, luck! , sounds almost exactly like F ....
'It looks like a thingie ... ' loved her crucifix epaulets
'Still kickin' it at 80, enjoying her life & people, then writing down some good stories, so now can get paid to travel & bask in the glow of her adoring fans who'll be reading her new book. What a lovely spirit she is.
I'd never seen her speaking as herself before.'Just settling in for the evening, cranked up my laptop, & was toking some mild weed when she came on.
Perfect timing, as was also evident in her way of telling those stories, being a fine actress & all. What a treat. Thank you. She's a treasure.
Wait. Miriam Margolyes on American TV?! Whoa! THANK YOU!
Brilliant woman. I cried when I saw her in Graham Norton's, just intelligent, brave and unapologetic. I will definitely buy her book.
Was waiting for this! About 3 chapters into the memoir now. But am probably even more excited about the interviews she will give to promote it.
Bless her cotton socks! Miriam is utterly enchanting! Love her! xox
I'm old enough to remember the great Miriam when she was on Blackadder as Lady Whiteadder ;)
"You appear to be wearing a pair of devil's dumplings! Wicked child!" SLAP!
My first memory of Miriam is her playing one of the terrible Aunts in James and the Giant Peach 🍑. And then as the Spanish Infanta and Queen Victoria in Blackadder! She steals the show whenever she’s on screen.
I am beyond thrilled that you had Miriam on your show! She is such a delightful human.
She's not an idiot...just herself! Thanks Seth for having her on your show!!!
Call the Midwife was a BBC 1 series. It merely was on PBS in the US.
What a lovely chat this was, nice to see Seth gush over a gush worthy guest
OMG, I do believe Miriam Margolyes is my new favorite person in the whole wide world. What stories!
oh my mum would have loved her book. She loved Miriam. My mum passed away a year ago. Just listening to this interview, I could just imagine my mum laughing with tears in her eyes. This was wonderful to watch. I can't wait to get the book.
I got it on Audible with my subscription! Her narration of her own memoir is genius.
She is one of the most genuine people that has ever graced the television and motion picture screen. She is a true gem. ❤️
I saw her for the first time on Graham Norton show a few weeks ago (November 2021). I feel lucky that she youtube recommended the videos. She's lovely and funny.
My first memory of seeing Miriam is her excellent performance in Blackadder, as the Spanish infanta. Very funny scetch with Jim Broadbent, highly recommended.
I met Miriam 15 years ago when I happened to be staying in the same hotel in Lithuania for work as her and her crew for a movie. I got to know them over the course of a week and one evening we were both eating alone and she asked to join me. At this stage I hadn’t had a chance to research her work, even though she had done Harry Potter I hadn’t seen it. I tried to avoid embarrassing myself until she mentioned some comedy play she had been in where I am from and I said ‘have you been in much comedy?’ She stared and said ‘have you heard of Blackadder?’ I was mortified😆 we had such a lovely conversation though I will always remember it.
@@grainnegill2593 She had three roles in Blackadder, most famously his prudish Catholic aunt.
She’s our Betty White
Love her turn as Queen Victoria in the Black Adder Christmas Carol.
Americans, I’m a Texan ...if you are open , want to laugh and just enjoy funny stories , but this book . Miriam is one of the funniest and beloved woman in the United Kingdom. I was introduced to her on Graham Norton and it’s hysterical...we can’t tell stories like that on our television because we censor everything. Do yourself a favor and go down the Miriam rabbit hole on CZcams .!
Hahaha! Right off the bat! Miriam is really priceless. Bless her soul.
One of the most wonderful people on the planet… and what an awesome job Seth did with the interview… just let her talk without interruption. So professional. I could listen to Miriam tell stories all day long.
god I love this unique treasure of a human...Miriam is one of a kind, unintentionally hilarious and awkward often, clever and saucy always, honest, kind and yet politely candid every time she speaks...I will get this book of hers...thanks for being so charming to her Seth....good job.
Back in the early 90's I got to see Miriam on stage in She Stoops to Conquer in Bath, England! She was awesome.
I adore Miriam!!! She's just stupendous and so naturally hilarious.
She is a treasure and a delight. A true gem!
can't wait to read her book. Thank you Seth for having on your show!!!
G'day, Miriam. It is great to see you on American TV! A true Aussie spirit all the way.
Nothing will top her 'knickers and Laurence Olivier' story she told on the Graham Norton Show. I'm sure Matthew Perry is still traumatised. TV Gold. Check it out.!
I don't know. She had Stanley Tucci convinced their episode wouldn't air. (But I definitely see your point.)
"If u tell d truth u hurt people n I don't wanna hurt people"
I really needed that advice 🙏
I just love her. Pleasant surprise to see Seth interviewing her.
If this is your first time seeing Miriam on a talk show, you have to seek out her others. These stories are tame in comparison. She's so delightful!
What a delightful person she is in addition to being a very talented actress. And what stories. So articulate and amusing.
Miriam on Seth Meyers' show? Ok this is amazing.
She is amazing, I absolutely love her. Every time I watch a video with her in it is always the best.
She is delightful, and my first thought when she said the Queen told her to "Be quiet," was that the Queen was extremely rude. They were all standing together. How did Miriam Margolyes' brief interjection warrant being told essentially to shut up? And why would anyone think that is ok?
Protocol. When the monarch is hosting, you keep the conversation short and don't say anything unless spoken to. And yiu certainly, do not interrupt. Lizzie wasn't there in to be the rich country lady: she was at work as a monarch. They hand out protocol sheets but Miriam clearly forgot about those, which makes for a wonderful story. I bet the queen is quite different when she's not working and receiving guests in an informal setting.
BTW, there is this delightful video clip of the Queen chatting with a police officer about how 'rude' the Chinese delegation was during a state visit. Completely informal, why; because she wasn't hosting! Etiquette 101: never interrupt or hijack the host! A bit stuffy but that's royalty for ya. I thought it was a brilliant story. I can just imagine Lizzie thinking:" oh please, I have 500 more people to talk to. Be quiet: i'm on a schedule
@@roddo1955 I understand what you're saying. So basically the queen has the right to be rude to anyone under certain circumstances. I still believe she could have made her point without saying it so rudely, but maybe that's just because I'm American and I didn't grow up knowing and accepting the norms of the monarchy. But I guess there are a lot worse things in the world than telling someone to be quiet. :)
@Kat Harman The Queen is just a person, like anyone else. So the idea that she should be treated like some sort of deity, who everyone has to bow and scrape to, has always seemed strange to me.
@Kat Harman I think it’s called freedom of speech.
@@PerthTowne The Queen generally isn't rude and has quite the sense of humor. I'm sure the queen was probably just joking. I've never heard of another incident of her being strict about protocol at all. Miriam maybe went too far lol.
A legendary woman
If you are reading this i recommend her appearance on the Off Menu podcast - its something else!
Not only is she a legend of film and stage, her radio performances are exemplary as well!
