So, I was 10 years old and used to live in the neighborhood next to the school I went to and we were in the middle of moving to a house in another neighborhood just like 3 miles down the road. My mother and I were at the stop sign when we saw police cars in front of a house right across the street from my school. My mom has seen a lot in her life so she of course goes right over to my school and parks in front of it to see what’s going on. The police have a megaphone saying “come out with your hands up.” Eventually I became really scared, so she relented and drove us to our new house. That evening, I learned that it was my classmate Thomas and his sister Denise had both been shot by their mother, who then killer herself. She was going through a divorce and told a friend if she couldn’t have them, no one would. Denise died. But Thomas, after being shot in the head, managed to escape out the back door and run to a neighbor’s house. He lived with the bullet remaining in his skull. This was SO traumatic to me. I could not comprehend a mother being so evil.

My mother cut her wrists when I was a child. I’ve an unusually low amount of childhood memories. That’s one, her friend held a towel to her arms and was crying saying what have you done to yourself… from that moment I never felt safe with her. The one person who I should have felt safest with has always been the one that scares me the most. I’d love to know how to get over it, to build a balanced relationship. My heart breaks for that young girl. She sounds so incredibly strong 💪🏻

I think a lot of women fake what Andrea had/has to get away with it/ get a shorter sentence. To this day Andrea refuses to leave incarceration because of what she did to her children.

I agree with all your sentiments Emma, you always look at these cases from every angle even if you don’t agree with certain points of view which is admirable and is why I love your channel. I’ve always felt intense hatred and rage to those who hurt the innocent and after having my own baby girl it became more intense where I didn’t think it possible. The law in Australia is quite lenient on child abusers and rapists and I do know if anyone hurt my baby girl and I didn’t see the punishment as suitable which in my mind it would never be they’d have to watch out once they got released because I would be their worst nightmare.

I really appreciate how accurately and empathetically you discuss mental health. I’ve existed with traumas I’d blocked out, night terrors as a child only to be in an abusive relationship that’s left me with severe PTSD. When I started treatment my wonderful psychiatrist also diagnosed me with bipolar disorder among other things. When the pandemic hit, I was again isolated with my abuser. Unlike people who just want attention, I googled and made specific plans to end it all. In my head my amazing family would be better without me. But I have a fur baby, Zico (lads who know football ⚽️). I couldn’t leave him. Things got worse and I did get to the point to find a loving home for him (he’s my whole life), I ghosted my doctor and was ready to move forward. He called me and said if I didn’t reply he’d call the authorities and I looked at Zico and I knew I could never leave behind. I called my doctor back. I’m alone in a foreign country. And I’m trying to start living again but I pray every that god takes me first…

Listening to you describe the stabbing the way you do made my stomach turn over. My 12 year old sister died when I was 8. I’d give anything to have been able to live my life with her. I don’t understand how you could do this to two innocent loving little sisters, your own daughters. But that photo of her with the two of them. It’s amazing they come from her. They have absolute love on their faces. And she has… barely tolerance. She didn’t deserve these kids. She never did. I am capable of empathy for people who do a lot of terrible things. But this seems like nothing but spite and that she never once cared for or loved these children from the start. And to kill then for those reasons, is just unforgivable. 😢
