Quezon City is the most populous city of the Philippines! We will discover a part of it, called Eastwood City, the first business district in the country, with skyscrapers towering over cafes, malls and restaurants. Many told us this is the San Francisco of the Philippines, others said this is straight up called The City Of Stars. Is it because all media outlets have their offices here or because of the Star Alley with Philippine's most famous personalities? What do locals and foreigners think about the biggest city of the Philippines?

Another great content you guys ü Love the man-on-the-street interactions.
Eastwood City (we refer to it as just "Eastwood," est. 2009) sits at the southeastern edge of Quezon City next to Pasig City (NCR) to the south, was developed by Megaworld which you pointed out. Behind the development to the east is the great Marikina River (which explains the drop in elevation from the rest of Quezon City), across of which is Marikina City (NCR) and parts of Rizal Province which Marikina used to belong.
It might interest you to know that Megaworld is also the developer of Venice Mall (2015) in BGC, Newport City (2017) across the NAIA and other pockets south of BGC; Lucky Chinatown Mall in Binondo which you've been to as well. (PS. these are not endorsements lol; just connecting the dots to places you've seen or been to in NCR that immediately comes to mind). Did you eat there at all? =D Sat safe!

I notice that in the Philippines, a neutral accented American English is spoken fluently and in a very cool and pleasing manner. No wonder it has eclipsed India as the BPO (Business Processing Office) center in the world.
Eastwood city in Libis,Quezon city is among an impressive business districts of Metro Manila. It's also a modern commercial estate trailing behind the likes of BGC,Makati,Ortigas and Binondo districts. Some say it resembles like an U.S/American city(San Francisco particularly)but Eastwood is always original of its own. A truly one of the iconic place and estate of the modern Philippines😊😊😊
Yah why do it have to be like san francisco attach east wood is eastwood of the philipppines
Eastwood City, is the first Township, by Megaworld, now Megaworld have 30 Townships in the Philippines. In Luzon, Visaya’s, and Mindanao. You might want to go and vlog about Mckinley Hill Where the Venice Grand Canal is Located. #IAmMegaworldAbePagtama
@@ahvicremulla544 alam mo naman yang mga yan, para sa views.
It more resembles a Hollywood boulevard because of the stars on the floor. Idk why people even call it SF. Maybe a
inspired by both Hollywood and SF, but it's also it's own thing.
Thanks for this tour! Very new to me! This is not built yet when I left home! Looks like the City of Pasadena California here too!
You guys are so lovely to watch. We love all your videos and will always support you. Hope you will enjoy your time in the Philippines.
You don't find difficulty n interviewing Filipinos, they speak good English. 🙂❤️
Exactly correct! English is one of the best asset of Pinoys…😊 in fact we speak better and good accent english than the Romanian interviewer.😂 Europeans are bad english speakers too.! Then it happened that those people Gigi interviewed are rather rich and educated pinoys..miguel in think he lives right across and that village is Green meadows where the rich of quezon city lives.😂😂😂
Thanks for visiting here in the Philippines, enjoy and be safe , God bless ❤️❤️❤️
Cool love it. Next, Filinvest City Alabang or Ortigas Center walk tour similar to this vlog.
Welcome to Philippines.Enjoy your stay and have fun. Try also to visit the Virgin Island of the Philippines. Isla de Galleo in Sibuyan Island Romblon and Bonbon beach in the Capital of the Province.
Happy to see you gigi and michael interviewing locals here in philippines hahaha .thanks for staying here longer.👍😍🙏😀
Thank you too for your support and for watching our video ❤️
Good place n amazing surroundings, clean n green too...mabuhay kyo..
Tell your countryman to come enjoy this new city...
Hope more will visit these places ❤️
Yes it has the San Francisco vibe specially when you see tram cars roaming around Eastwood...
Eastwood is like SF without human poop and crackheads… I live in San Francisco, and it’s been terrible.
Hello Gigi and Mike! That part of Quezon City is the rich area…the Walk of Fame is there because Quezon City is The City of Stars because most celebrities live in Quezon City..and most of the Studios are located in Quezon City too…The developer of Eastwood City is the same as Venice Mall.
Oh, didn't know this, but looks pretty
Glad you guys had fun at Eastwood City. Nice place. 👍🏼❤️
I've been there last january..It's a nice place..very huge buildings.
Yah, it's look like San Francisco california, I'm watching now I'm new subscriber from Phillipines, take care and enjoy the beauty of the philliphines 👌👍
We really enjoyed this video. Michael and Gigi, you always bring the best that is why you are our favorite vloggers. You guys rock!
You should have taken for a ride of the orange cable car used to shuttle around people for free to give you a complete SanFrancisco vibe.
You should visit Fil-invest Alabang, the greenest and largest CBD area in Metro Manila. It will surprise you. Happy new year, guys! 🎆
Oh gosh, what a super beautiful and modern Eastwood City aka San Francisco of the Philippines. Wonderful of Gigi to go around interviewing the locals to find out more about this place. Great job, Gigi 👍👍👏 Hahaha ... it's never that easy to get a soft toy at the claw machine. Thanks for posting and have a wonderful day, Mike and Gigi.
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩❤️🇵🇭

I miss my Friday and Saturday nightrs clubbing in BGC. The Basement, The Manor and having an after party 4am buffet at Something Fishy with my friends and crew. There was also a street race seen along Libis before during the Fast & Furious era.

Happy newyear..my beloved vlogger..watching always..we love you..take care always..
Hello Gigi and Mike, I don't know how compare Philippines and do this kind vlog to other places that you have already visited and maybe oneday you may tell and say how it is. But I would say in just the way you move and get around places in the Philippines that it seems you both enjoy and liked it here. Like I said before, you may make Philippines your home. 🙂
Yaaayyyy!!!! That's my favorite hang out place.
Wow, just nailed it 😁
@@DodoExplorers I will be there in an hour to bowl. That's where I practice my bowling skills from.

There's a tram there that looks like SF Cable Cars that goes around Eastwood. It's free to ride. Just not sure what time it operates. :)

Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
I don't know how that moniker of "San Francisco of the Philippines" came about but for foreigners who don't know much about the culture Filipinos have this tendency of labeling something or someone as a local version of their famous foreign counterpart. It's just a theory of mine but I believe it all started back in the 1950's when we got exposed to American movies and that's when locals started calling our actors/actresses as local versions of their Hollywood idols just for having a slight resemblance with them. Examples I can think of are;
Lou Salvador Sr. -- James Dean of the Philippines
Amalia Fuentes -- Elizabeth Taylor of the Philippines
Eddie Mesa -- Elvis Presley of the Philippines
Etc..
As for the Walk of Fame I'm almost sure the developer copied the "Hollywood Walk of Fame" concept in Los Angeles coz it's version is also for names of local celebrities embedded in a Star. On the other hand, Eastwood was launched back in 1997 and the "Rainbow Walk of Fame" in San Francisco was only installed back in 2014 and they don't have Stars but rather metal plaques embedded on the sidewalks.
Try to visit , fountain light show , in Okada, Manila , The fountain alone cost , 30 million Dollar.
I want Eastwood to grow and expland like the other districts are doing so. Eastwood can expand next to the river.
So you guys are in San Francisco. Please don't forget to visit Las Casas de Acuzar, Spain in Bataan, Japan in Batanes and in Baguio before leaving the country. But I would suggest that if you guys do not own a property in your country, just stay and live in the Philippines and in ten years time, you guys can get a Filipino citizenship if you guys wants to, so you guys can buy own a property, like the Syrian Hungry Wanderer who is now a Filipino citizen. God bless.
Nice you visit the place Gigi Michael for us to see..watching from province👍
Thank you so much for your support!
Hello. We spent our New Year’s Eve countdown this year at Eastwood.
See you in beautiful & Cool city of Baguio.
gracias mi favorite couple...good job.
HI! GIGI I REMEBER EASTWOOD CITY BEFORE 70S TO 80S IS LIKE A JUNGLE.
It changed so much in 40 years?
Thats owned by Megaworld. Same owners as Venice Grand Mall, Uptown BGC, Resorts World and the various high rise condos. Thats the 1st successful venture by owner Andrew Tan...
I lived in the Bay Area for 26 yrs. I haven't been i Eastwood or BGC. I've been in SF a lot times. Judging from what I see in You Tube, Eastwood is much better than SF coz. It's new and much cleaner.
That's so cool, thank you for sharing ❤️
Go to Ayala alabang next....
Actually manila was San Francisco of the Philippines where first created the tram in the country during american colonization.
Visit,,, Fillinvest Alabang center
There three places Makati,Bgc, Eastwood city land mark of the phiPpines.
Nice vlog 👍
Long time guys.. i miss you❤❤
you guys missed to visit the rotating restaurant if MDC bldg
🥰🥰🥰Hi guys..enjoy your time
Where are you gigi and dodo have you travel in other country already.
"Walk of fame" in the U.S. is not in San Francisco but rather in Hollywood which is in L.A.
I live in Eastwood cause it’s a small community that I can just walk to banks , restaurants , groceries etc and it’s not busy like bgc
That's true, so you like it more in Eastwood?
It’s NOT san Francisco of the Philippines, it’s simply Eastwood City Manila! Stop the comparison.
YAY BELATED HAPPY NEW YEAR
Happy New Year!! ❤️
Gigi brings back the memory of Lourdes Medel the filipina actress of the 1960's. ☝️ Lourdes Medel walking again in 2023 in person.
Lourdes Medel's niece is my friend in BF Homes P'que. Her name is N. Bonnin. 😃 JC Bonnin is her nephew.
@@JosephOccenoBFH Gigi the Romanian lady have a semblance to Lourdes Medel when i was a kid i used to watch her movies her partner in the movie was Bernard Bonnin. I was born in the late '50s that is why i know.
I thought Gigi looks like Lotis Key.
Be nice pls... mabuhay ang Pinas...

that is where Dell BPO used to held it's office.... though Eastwood it's kind of a small community...traffic to and from is heavy specially during rush hour specially during the Ber months...concerts and fireworks during New Years eve makes the surroundings lively...we can watch them from our pantry area....when fireworks start oh my g as if you're in a war 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I miss my days working there
Hahaha, that sounds fun ❤️
Happy new year guys ..
Awesome...
Happy you like it! Thank you for watching!
My dear dodos 😌💕

You guys haven't yet explore in MINDANAO, yah? Too many places you can explore which is very beautiful than Manila!.. try to visit please and there's a lot more you can see , there's a lot of tourists pot as well like in bukidnon, Davao, Cagayan, Iligan, where Maria Christina Falls is, Zamboanga , there's a lot more .. might be your subscribers will become 200k i assure you that!...
Love this place
Love it too!
try pasig city
Since you're already there in Eastwood , please proceed to PODIUM Mall where the escalators are like the spaceship .
grabe mga pinoy proud na proud sa itsura ng mall hahaha spaceship amp
Podium mall is in Ortigas Center near Mega Mall
Ngek.. 🤦
I've never been to Eastwood but thanks for showing it's really a nice place to live in, condos are cheaper than Makati and BGC. You don't go to Ginebra games anymore, I wonder if you were banned or reprimanded for filming it.
It's just that we've been out of manila, but we're coming back
Your next stop should be ALABANG in the southern part of Manila.
Thank you for your suggestion!
You didn't see the electric shuttle bus that looks like San Francisco's cable cars that goes around inside Eastwood City. You should have rode it...
Oh, would have loved to see it!
LIKED AND SUBSCRIBED
Thank you so much 🥰
It can never look like San Francisco I don’t see graffitis everywhere it’s too clean plus I don’t see any homelessness camping
Sn Francisco del Monte!😳
🥰🥰🥰🇵🇭
Dodo have you been seeing the pba finals ,our ginkings versus the bay area dragon?
Yes..even now I'm watching it online. Check out our Instagram, we post there updates about Ginebra Finals games
Guys game 3 na finals brgy Genebra
Filinvest mall still in alabang
Is it nice?
Wow
Yes!
Guys, game 4 later are you going to watch?
Eastwood is not a city! The first modern one is Makati followed by Ortigas Center (not a city but a business center like Eastwood.) There are several more pockets of business centers all over the Philippines in Iloilo, Alabang, Cebu, Davao,Baguio, Ilocos and Clark, etc that were built ahead of Eastwood.
Eastwood is ok but I hate the place for not being photography friendly like BGC. Security will shoo you away but that was years ago, I don't know now. But since foreign vloggers can vlog maybe they loosen up now.
I dont see any resemblance to SF, eastwood city is very small area
EASTWOOD CITY,
LIBIS QUEZON CITY,METRO MANILA PHILIPPINES.
❤️❤️
Wrong.
1. BGC Taguig
2. Ayala Avenue
3. Etc
Fyi, that is NOT the first modern city of the Philippines! First of all, Eastwood City is NOT a city. It's a neighborhood that is part of the actual Quezon City. LOL! Secondly, it doesn't look anything like San Francisco. I lived in SF for years and it looks nothing like it. Stop comparing every place in the Philippines to other places in the world. Places in the Philippines have their own character and uniqueness. Please do your research if you're going to vlog about your travels!
What you got BGC or Eastwood?
Maybe 7 or 8 years ahead, the global city will open, superiority than this u seen,,,,
Eastwood is only small enclave not like makati, ortigas and BGC,
I still preferred Makati than Taguig and Quezon City
Why not watchin pba games no more??? Vloggers tend to change when they hit the rich city.. The bgc and eastwood.. Love to see the local street... For me somehow..
Watching online, we're out of Manila now
Eastwood city is not like the dirty full of homeless San Francisco. Eastwood city is much cleaner and look more modern and beautiful. I've been to San Francisco and there is no comparison to Eastwood
Many people told us that Eastwood looks like San Francisco, that's why we went there in the first place 🥰
If u ask me which one i like Eastwood or bgc my answer is Makati heheh
HELLO! MIKE AND GIGI WHY YOU DIDNT WATCHING GINEBRA! VS BAY AREA CHAMPIONSHIP ITS A NICE GAME. GINEBRA WON GAME 3 IN PBA FINALS
Yaay, Ginebra!! We watch it online, we're in the province
