#Satisfactory is an FPS open-world factory building sim by #CoffeeStain Studios. You play as an engineer on an alien planet as part of the ‘Save The Day’ program - a program whose goal is to construct a massive machine for a mysterious purpose. Conquer nature, build multi-story factories, and automate to satisfaction! #Update8 - Hry
Nudge mode and blueprint dismantle mode are insane additions! Proof that Coffee Stain Studios truly understands and cares about the community. Thanks Jace, makes sense!
i think i'm going to go even further : i believe they actually play their game (and it seems like they enjoy it even).
@@ZeRallyman well he litterally says in the video "I found that super cool when I played with it" or something along those lines, so yeah, they play the game.
The amount of care and polish that has gone into this game is honestly astonishing. In its current state, it really doesn’t feel like an Early Access game minus some of the performance issues
Best think, i dismantle so much Blueprints for my monk
I've seen the kind of care and dedication Coffee Stain Studios has put forth for their other games as well (rock and stone!). Only top quality games from Coffee Stain!
I think the most impressive thing is that not only have you made one of my favourite games of all time, you've somehow made it one of my favourite CAD environments too
They use our factories as plans for secretly build real ones in Mars. That explains why the CAD part is so good.
Loooool as a student with 3 years experience in Siemens NX and structural simulations I can safely say this is the CAD game of all time
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW
Knockin' it out of THE PARK!!! Super hyped for these quality of life changes!
Love ur vids man, can't wait to watch u automate the next space elevator part!!!
I thought I'd find you around here somewhere.
Coffee Stain Studio is setting the standard for what all developers should be doing. Taking feedback from community and implementing those changes with their spice into the games. The changes and the love that's been shown to this game is amazing and much appreciated. Keep raising that bar, people will continue to support this style of development.
Its so lovely to see Jace being enthusiastic about his job. Speaking of that: Thanks Jace! Helps a lot!
Lol, dich hätte ich hier am wenigsten erwartet 😅 schöne Grüße aus Div8.1 😅
@@MegaKotai hahaha, geil. Liebe Grüße zurück! 😘
Nudge mode needs an up/down nudge too. I have to build sub-supports for my structure that have some underhanging features just so I can place them in the correct vertical location.
default keys for that could be picture up/down
this combined with horizontal nudging would be a godsend. i have played Satisfactory only for like 50 hours, started using blueprints recently and hated going out of my way to build a foundation beneath the level i want my blueprint to be on(the blueprint includes a floor of foundations. now that i think about it, it wasn't the wisest choice), because foundations in a blueprint very rarely snap to already built foundations
Oh I agree with the up and down feature for nudge!
Maybe they can use left shift and ctrl to move up and down.
I agree! I want to make a staircase blueprint made out of sideways concrete pillars but because you can't clip into the *floor* of the blueprint builder there's no way to build the staircase evenly with the floor : (
I am blown away by the quality-of-life upgrades that Coffee Stain Studios continues to implement in this game! I haven't played in a while, but when I do, it will feel like a completely different game!
Same. Been holding off since update... 6? Until the final 1.0 release because rebuilding from ground 0 every update was a bit exhausting for the time I have, but can't wait for the final game!!!!!
Most of this stuff they stole from a mod called "Smart" which you could have been using!g for a long time if you had used the mod.
@@gkennedy0969 Cant really say they "stole" it. Its just a QoL update that could be implemented but the team had other priorities on release.
@@gkennedy0969 a lot of people don't mod at all and those who do got a potential game breaking situation with every new patch etc
makes a whole lot of sense to just add those features into vanilla
Glad to see you guys listening to the community, I saw quite a few people suggest the hologram locking to check alignment and the nudging is such a great way to round out that feature!
Oh man, you guys addressed so many blueprint issues I've had, I can't tell you how many times I wished I could 'undo' a blueprint placement because it was 1-2m off where I wanted it. Seriously amazing job improving the quality of life of blueprints
Hands down Satisfactory has the best feedback loop with the community I've ever seen. Other studios should take note, this is how you create die-hard fans!
I thought they called that the particle accelerator.
This all sounds much improved for building. There's been a lot of times where I'd have loved to nudge my buildings, or even just look to double check it was aligned properly, so this is going to be so nice once we get our hands on this!
11/10. Also an idea!
So I absolutely ADORE the Toggle Dismantle Mode. Especially the fact that the parts know if and what blueprint they were apart of historically.
One idea I had while looking at this would be if you could delete all connected parts. A very dangerous "Delete this thing, the belts connected to it, and the wires too".
The best part about this is it would delete parts that got eaten up by the environment too as long as the connected pieces are still selectable
You guys are probably my favourite game studio, the extent to which you listen to community feedback is incredible!
I agree, the way they interact and listen to the community is refreshing in this day and age, their streams are comedic and they just come a cross like mates to each and everyone of us
I often wonder what the office environment is like at CSS, it seems like a fun place to work
probably???
Yessssssss Blueprint Books. Thank you!
Edit: everything else is also amazing.
wait.... do you have satisfactory gameplay vids? Have I been missing out on this?
Man I didn't know you were into Satis too! That's so rad!
I'd watch you play this game!
Our favourite pokemon news guys also plays our favourite factory game?
Yea you have videos on this
Thanks Jace, helps a lot!
Just started a new playthrough for Update 7 since I took a bit of a break and nudge mode will be a killer feature for me, to be certain. I'm developing my various personal blueprints such as constructors with appropriate mergers and splitters but getting them just so has been such a pain in the neck. While I'm sure this will get easier once I have the hoverpack unlocked, seeing as building a stack of storage containers improves this for me already, nudge mode alone will be FANTASTIC.
I was hoping for a "click to confirm" when placing blueprints but you guys have absolutely nailed it with these fixes 😍😁
Nudge mode is going to make building with blueprints so much better, thank you for all the stuff you've put in with the blueprint system, this is such a huge QOL upgrade :D
it will make building in general better.
Love the change.. also one suggestion would be that organization of the blueprints continues into the actual folders of the blueprint files.. It soooo annoying when I import blueprints from one save to another and then have to recreate the entire organization system in the new save because no part of it is retained. Being able to have subfolders created in the blueprint folder would be nice for both in and out of game organization of them (for example sharing blueprints and being able simply copy/paste the file into where we would like it organized so its correct when we open the game)
Yes! This comment needs more visibility.
YES!!!!! these additions make the blueprints MUCH more useful.
Also the ability to freeze buildings and nudge them a bit will save SO MUCH TIME.
Just thought of this, the ability to rotate in nudge mode would be useful as well. If we cant than that's cool just get orientation set before going into nudge mode.
Honestly love how much Coffee Stain listens to pain points. The care you all put into this game is insane
idea: add a dismantle mode that ignores foundations, i feel like that's the most common issue with bulk selection
That is a big thing in my opinion!
theres a setting you can change.. where when dismantling , the first item you select.. after that you will only select that item for the rest.. to prevent deleting lets say a machine if all you want to do is remove belts, splitters
@@fuzziog3923 Nice! How to do that, if i may ask?
@@pimmanders2261 it in the keybind settings. Dont know the default
@@pimmanders2261 its a keybind you need you need to setup, in your settings its called “toggle specified multi select dismantle”
It's amazing how far you guys are willing to support this feature when I remember not long ago we were told blueprints would never happen! The flexibility and commitment to improvement is so refreshing!
Satisfactory just keeps getting better and better and better. Remember when we had to make spiral towers for conveyor belts!?
Fantastic! I'm working up to starting over with a new factory, and these blueprint updates are going to make a tremendous difference! Great work guys!
Would love to see features of the "Smart" mod in the base game. like stacking buildings, and blueprints together. like build-up and down. The Hold and Nudge feature was even part of that mod.
The way you react to players' input is outstanding. More devs (game and otherwise) should follow your example.
Thanks Jace helps a lot! I'm super excited for the blueprints and the blueprint tools as well as the nudge mode, I've been wanting something like the nudge mode for ages!
You guys are amazing. Such great additions! Literally fixed my 3 biggest issues at once :).
Especially in compact and tight factories, it can sometimes be really difficult to orient and fit all the buildings. Nudge mode will definitely be a game changer for that. Thank you!
As far as this update goes, my thoughts is that coffee stain understands their community. The only company I think that does it to this extent. Absolutely love coffee stain and their amazing community managers. So much appreciated. Excited for update 8!!!
This is how you early access!
Truly wonderful devs at coffe stain. Other Sudios like EA, Ubisoft, Riot Games and so on could all learn some valuable leassons from them.
All excellent. Blue printing definitely needed all these features... The nudge mode on its own super helpful.. Awesome 😊
I am so happy these improvements are coming. So many times I've had to reconstruct a building or redo a section because one building was off by a few places. Being able to hold the hologram in place will be so nice. I was not expecting full BP deconstruction. Tedious to dismantle a BP or several? Yes. I just looked at it as being no different than when I didn't use a BP. Nudging buildings/BPs will be so nice too. Cycling through BPs? Awesome! So much good. My Brian is now a mushroom cloud.
A tip for people having snapping issues- place one meter walls around the corners of the blueprint, you can line those up with each other to make sure they are even
I just add a one meter foundation that just clips into one corner of the blueprint, then I delete it after placement.
Most games I played tied to Coffee Stain Studios have been phenomenal, the community is excellent and what I find most striking is the studio's dedication to fostering that kind of environment. This is the right way to do things in this branch of the entertainment industry. I only wish it would be a more common occurrence.
WOW - not only are these amazing features, the transparency and communication is top notch too! Would love to see another 'behind the scenes interview / chat' with some of the folks who worked on this - really great stuff!!
8:19 "It's very very straight forward" good thing you guys added an indicator for that lol
These new features are game-changing! Also, once again, this should be an example for how a developer communicates with their community! Fantastic stuff!
Awesome features incoming. Can't wait. Love how transparent and community oriented devs are for this game
I'm not involved in community discussions for the game at all, but you basically solved every gripe I can come up with off the top of my head with blueprints. The size of the blueprints buildable space being adjustable would be nice, but clearly that is on your radar and the other changes are more important and taken care of. Once the adventure and exploring side of the game is expanded, this game will be added to my 10,000+ hours list. I'm already pushing 1,000 as "casually" playing. I would love to see the addition of puzzles take priority over environmental hazards.
Thanks Jace! And thank you to everyone else who is working on this project!
Whoever you have who designs game systems plus whoever handles UI/UX are gods. Blueprints were already handled very creatively in a way that adds to gameplay but nudge mode is such a elegant QoL add I didn't know I needed but now I need it right now please thanks.
Really well done to the whole team.
Nudge mode is a great addition. It will reduce a lot of friction when building, lowkey the feature I'm looking forward to the most in the next update
I've not worked with blueprints very much up to this point because I did find them a bit difficult to place, especially when I wasn't building on a flat surface, and because building the wrong thing in the wrong place was much more frustrating than the potential time save. I've used them for small things like basic mining setups, but with this update I feel that I use blueprints for almost anything now. Incredible work, Satisfactory continues to be the best factory building game on the market.
You could add mk3 piping with 1,200 cubic meters per minute, because on the map the pipes get in the way a lot, another improvement should be in relation to the mats, adding the mk6 with 1,200 capacity per minute, as well as a slightly larger map, adding more nodes of resources like sulfur, adding a trailer to the truck would be a good idea.
Thank you for Nudge mode! Dismantle mode, and the arrow. I cant tell you how often this has happened to me!
WOOOP. Blueprints got a big jump to the right direction! This is actually REALLY good!
You mean they got a "Nudge" in the right direction 🤣
@@FranWest. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I would love to see conveyor belts and railways be able to connect to each other from separate blueprints, like if I line up 2 railways perfectly with each other via 2 separate blueprints, I would like them to actually connect to each other automatically but they don’t. This would be especially useful for conveyor belts! I know this is kind of a trivial thing but it would be helpful nonetheless. Thanks guys for all your amazing work so far!
love the new features! perfection! ...one additional thing i would like to see is that power cables no longer block the builder gun when hovering over them. happened a million times to me, trying to get the exact right position for a building by straving to the side (in hover mode, e.g.) only to be blocked by a power cable at the perfect spot. cheers anyways, you guys are amazing :)
Absolutely amazing updates here Jace, helps a lot.
If only I could apply it retroactively to all these elevated train spans I've done... I still got plenty more to make so this will be WAAAAY less frustrating lol
Thanks Jace! Helps a lot!
These are amazing. The one huge thing i wish we could have, that i havent heard them talk about, is being able to connect blueprints with previous blueprints of the same kind. Like when building a massive bus with so many conveyers, the pain of actually connecting all those belts together isn't really solved by blue prints yet.
Wow this is amazing! Thanks CoffeeStain!! That was one of my pet peeves, deleting each and every piece of a blueprint that I placed wrong (as it happens frequently LOL) These changes will surely reduce that!
I am so excited for all of these, those are going to be serious game-changers
This is awesome you guys. It's amazing to see how well feedback is taken to heart. Not to mention the stellar communication we get. New changes to the blueprint mode are absolutely fantastic. couldn't be more excited!
Great QoL additions!
A nod to SMART Mod with H for Hold/nude mode.
Between the addition of Copy-Paste, Zooping, Blueprints and Nudge mode, Coffee Stain are making Smart Mod less of a go-to mod (unless Smart gets blueprint repeating or auto logistics/connecting for blueprints).
Hats off to you Coffee Stain 👍🏻😁
The new features are a great help, not only for the deconstruction of blueprint parts but being able to lock a building and move it in small increments helps a lot
Thanks Jace helps a lot
My biggest annoyance is lining up large and/or tall buildings and getting catwalks to connect properly. Having nudge mode is going to make that so much easier. Would have saved me a good few hours on a fuel generator build I did a few weeks ago. Absolutely hyped for these changes! Y'all are just giving us exactly what we need and I love it.
Nudge and dismantle are great features - dismantle in particular; nothing like slapping down a massive structural element full of individual parts, then realizing it was off by a meter and having to tear it apart piece by piece. Gonna be a good addition.
Have you guys ever thought that you are building a whole 3d visual programming engine? That's how it could be adapted. Buildings are like variables and blueprints are like classes. And conveys deliver information between classes. What I want to say about "nudge mode" is that I thought about it 10 years ago. And finally. You are the first to implement it. You did well.
I so look forward to these videos EVERY time. Big Love! ❤
EDIT: WOW how can one company hit so many home runs! Stellar blue print changes! This game is the gold standard in making brilliant iterations on game mechanics.
You guys and girls are shining beacons of hope! In a sea of studios and developers that fail to focus on the importance of what makes a game good, you are an icon worthy of worship and adoration ❤. Awesome news, awesome work, a brilliant game made by great people who seem to be truly passionate and proud of their work (you all should be!). I cant wait to see what secrets are in store in the future of this game and it's studio. 🤘🏻
The huge win here for me is the blueprint dismantle mode! I used blueprints to make large train rail foundations that looked good flashy and had lots of parts, but messing up placement happened often in more difficult terrain and was a bear to undo.
Thanks, Jace! Nudge Mode for everything helps a lot! I was always frustrated when trying to place a building and having to dismantle it multiple times before getting the position right.
Nudge mode is absolutely awesome! The main feature for blueprints I really want is the ability to export them as a text string like in Factorio. That way they can be shared with friends or other people online.
You can export/import blueprints to share already. You only really need the .sbp files (layout/design) usually but the .sbpcfg file (blueprint config file w/description, icon used, icon color used, etc) can be handy when sorting. Since I don't play Factorio I'm not sure how that compares to that games text strings.
@@Kithhurrn in Factorio it's one button press in game to copy the string of a blueprint to your clipboard. It's literally a copy paste, super simple for the user
4:30 suggestion: draw an arrow onto the floor of the blueprint designer so its obvious to everyone what the white arrow corresponds to
Thank you guys for fixing literally all the issues that I had with freaking blueprints. Now I can actually build things fast lol
Thanks Jace helps a lot!
Also those features are exactly what I've been waiting for to come back to the game. Nailed it
Oh so sweet! And it is great to see Jace so excited about these features. I'm extra excited! So good. Can't wait.
Holy crap. This is what I thought about when you began with the positioning problems, but I quickly thought that they would never add that because it must be too complex.
And then you started talking about these things. No caviats, no tradeoffs, it's PERFECT!
Love the improvements, I personally would like a "mass dismantle" option that dismantles everything connected to what my curser is pointed at. 😅
Been waiting for these since the beginning of the blueprint feature, and i’m so glad to see these additions !
Blueprint dismantle (especially how smart it is) is a godsend!! Thank you!!
This is great to hear, thumbs up to the dev team for theses features, I might start using blueprints now
Hear me out: Large Scale Drone Blueprints
Even with the current blueprint designer, I have run into inventory space limits while building particularly large or complex blueprints. I therefore propose a couple new high tech buildings/items.
Construction Drone Blueprint Base Station: upon using, the employee puts on a VR mask, and the player is teleported to a mostly featureless void where they can build without costs. In the void there is a terminal where they can save/load blueprints and exit the simulation.
Construction Drone mode for Drone Stations: Drones at these stations will load with whatever materials they are provided with and then wait for instruction. Alternatively special construction drones and stations might make more sense.
Construction Drone Remote Operation Manager: A handheld device that allows for the placing of drone blueprints. If there are the needed materials for the blueprints in drone construction stations with drones, the blueprint will be blue, otherwise it will be red. Once an affordable blueprint is placed, drones at construction stations will fly the materials to location and construct it, before returning to their stations.
These new features look AMAZING! Can't wait to use them!
Saw the "Nudge mode" and I fell in love. Thanks Coffee Stain Studios!
Excellent updates! If I was add any suggestions about blueprints, it would be that there be a way insider the blueprint designer to rename, delete, and move prints between categories/sub-categories. It would also be helpful when you're in the save process, before you actually saved it, to be able to change the category/sub that was picked The only way to do it at the moment is to exit out of the designer before the save, go back in, and redo everything.
Wow, Nudge Mode looks brilliant. I haven't even tried blueprints yet (been playing other stuff and waiting to return after Update 8) but I already know it would help with some of the larger buildings. I would love for other games with first-person construction (*cough* Subnautica) to borrow this idea too.
Blueprint Dismantling sounds like a huge QoL improvement. Big love to whoever did the tedious programming and testing to make it all work!
This is exciting. Blueprint dismantle got me thinking about another dismantle mode that would be really nice which would be an area dismantle. That would be where you select two objects and it selects all items in 3d space between those two points. (It would select a cubic area where the two items you selected were opposite corners of the cube.) Even if it still had a 50 item limit it would still be super useful because there is still a lot of cases where there is a lot of belts, supports, splitters and foundations that were not a part of a blueprint that are also very tedious to delete.
Sounds like awesome features Jace! Can't wait to try them.
So much love being put into this game, it's great.
GG, Coffee Stain! Thanks, Jace!
Glad to hear some blueprint improvements are coming because for someone like me that likes things to just work, I haven't really been able to use this feature. I could probably alleviate my problems by using simpler blue print pieces but I just haven't had the patience to mess with it for the reasons you mention.
Awesome!
Thanks, Jace! Helps a lot
Amazing additions, thanks, bigger blueprints would be fantastic!
This sounds awesome :) Will test it as soon as my current save reaches blueprints :)
Can’t wait for these features and how it will make adding or removing parts of my blueprints SO much easier
Oh my god !! That seems sooooooo coooool ! Thank you very much for these improvements !
Great new additions to an already superb game, thank you Coffee Stain. 1 thing about blueprints i would love to see is the ability to use the blueprints earlier in game as there are lots of early game blueprints that are very good for early game , but not worth using once you reach the blueprints level
I'm really glad to see all those improvements! Even though I'm a very casual player, just seeing Jace talk about new features so exitedly makes me happy. CSS does a great job, you guys are amazing! 🔥
Me seeing nudge and blueprint dismantle modes: "Jace. My man. My guy. My *pal*. I humbly request that you give a big ol' smoocheroonie, on my behalf, to every person involved in making these happen. Because these? These deserve *LOVE*."
Nudge mode makes my cry simultaneously from happiness and from the bitterness of past mistakes. Thank you/
Those 3 features are bloody amazing! And the quick switch is just so awesome. Ever since I started using the Blueprint Designer, I've used main categories and sub categories like any IT person would arrange files in folders on a computer. So my factory folder contains several subfolders for different factory machines for different parts of the manufacturing process.
These are the features I needed, thank you!!!!!!!
Thanks Jace! I love hearing about things I can never have!
That nudge mode will be super helpful, can't count how many times I've been just slightly off putting down plant machinery.
One thing I hope for some day is a sort of "Architecture Blacklist" dismantle mode. I'd love to do a big visual sweep of mass dismantling big non-blueprint builds without having to worry about killing the building underneath it.
I think the blueprint books from factorio would be really interesting too because you could have all the prints for a category in one book you can scroll through
I absolutely LOVE these features! The team has done an amazing job! I can't wait to try it out. Thanks!
You guys are amazing. My friend and I were just talking about how hard it is dismantling blueprints earlier this week and here you are.. addressing the changes on that 😂 Keep up the hard work! Excited for update 8 😁
