Something I don't understand is how the DLP solution is able to monitor the data that is being transferred in real time when the information contained in those packets of data is encrypted?

I guess when some DLP have DPI. Prof mentioned that some next gen firewall have this utility. Next gen firewall operates on applications layer which means it can circumvent the SSL. I guess
