Of all the cobblers I see on CZcams, you’ve the only thread puller. A time saver.
Seeing the sitches flew out from the welt is a zen moment.
Great job as usual you don't talk too much my friend your videos are very informative better than any one I've seen on CZcams .
Excellent job pal, I like watching your video on how you refurbish shoes I have learned a lot from you. Your video is very very educative. Thanks.

Love your videos. Hoping you can help me... I have some AE McNeils and when I was cleaning them up from the winter (a few days back) I used saddle soap to clean the upper and the sole. I polished them and then, thinking this would protect the sole from the Midwest salt, I put mink oil on the sole of my shoes. Did I ruin them? Will this soften the sole leather? What can I do to “fix” this if it is wrong? Thanks for your guidance
If there is mink oil on the sole just leave it and let it wear out. Otherwise at this point you can do more harm than good trying to remove it.
When threading the sole, what keeps the thread from coming loose after completion? Are there knots before and after threading; or are the ends tied together when done? I am unable to see this.
So there is no knot or any of that. Simply that the stitch’s are what’s called a lock stitch and it shouldn’t come undone. The other thing is when we put the heel block back on the glue that holds them on soaks into the stitches enough to keep it from coming undone as well
Wow your stitch ripper sounds like Chewbacca
Dark chili or walnut ?
What is the desalting solution comprised of? You don't need to keep apologizing, because we appreciate the time you spend to show us your process.
It’s a mix of de-salter, white vinegar, easy cleaner and water
To repair salt-burned leather have you heard of ultra-fine grit sandpaper used to sand it smooth? There is sandpaper as smooth as 10,000 grit.
Typically 100-1,000 great is plenty good for leather depending on what type it is but with any kind of minerals in the leather that are damaging such as salt you really want to be sure to treat it first to de-activate it
What leather moisturizer do you recommend?
Depending on the leather type. Saphir has a number of great ones there is also Venetian and Bick4 that are great. For smooth leather like these AE shoes I always like the Saphir renovateur in the MDO line
Your sander....is it Black & Decker? I need one of these.
The palm sander is
any exsperence resoling beckett simonon dress shoes,
A hand full yes. Not to common out here in Denver
What kind of heels were used on these shoes?
GTO. Have been liking these top lifts more than what Vibram has
Cobblers Plus Inc. are they harder or softer than original AE heels? thanks
There a little softer but has more rubber in it where the AE heels have more plastics in it making it harder. The GTO hands down has lasted longer than the AE
What's the price for this kind of work? Please let me know!! Thank you
Was that a Springfield subcompact? Seems like you are a sheepdog as well brother. Kudos
Sure is
@@CobblersPlus Love your craftsmanship, truly entertaining to watch brother, thanks again. Ever resoled a Cheaney pair of shoes?
Also can you type the saphir products you showed last minute. I would like to buy and try. Thank you
So the Saphir I used was all the Medaille D’Or line as fallowed.
Renovateur cream
Pommadier cream
Pate De luxe wax
Mirror Gloss Wax
The work on these came out to $220 each pair.
Thank you for your answers. I do also own a shoe store but don't use it leather. I use super-prime and charged $60 for h+h and some people are complaining about price.
Continue to talk. That’s the only way the audience can learn about shoes.
Doesn’t like cap toe???? Wtf???
I miss the videos when you wouldn't fast forward and you would talk non stop
In your years in this industry have you heard of anyone losing a finger(s) on these machines?
I’ve hear of a few and recently had seen an article where one cobbler had his big to attached to where his thumb used to be
