When my babies were in the NICU they gave them pacifiers because they said that it teaches them to associate a full belly with sucking since they were fed with a feeding tube the first week 💕 it helped teach them how to eat on their own once they were strong enough

I've definitely used a pacifier this way with a tube-fed baby. So glad you had that resource.

Sooooo informative. My son is 12 and used a nuk pacifier (the only one he would take). I’m just trying to figure out whats the best one this time around and hope that the baby will take it. I feel like a new momma 😂 Thank you!!

My baby gags on all the pacifiers. I’ve gotten her to take the mam brand butterfly ones twice but it takes a lot of effort.

Same with my son! I think I’m going to try out the Phillip avent soother!

Hi Tanya! Gagging can definitely happen when babies have a shallow gag reflex. Sometimes that working that out is easy, and sometimes it requires some support. If you need any help, please let us know!

How did that go? It's a good pacifier, if he's having a hard time, we'd be happy to help!

Hi will you recommend Nanobebe and Tommee tippee? Thank you so much

The "wide base" paci. does NOT have an actual wide base. The baby's lips need to be much wider on the mother's breast.
The AAP's recommendation for pacifier use is The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that parents consider offering pacifiers to infants one month and older at the onset of sleep to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome. Potential complications of pacifier use, particularly with prolonged use, include a negative effect on breastfeeding, dental malocclusion, and otitis media.

I tried all the various shapes with my baby. I noticed how even after using a shape for just 1 day it would change the way she breastfed! I did not like that. I kept the Soothie and the Izzy Ritzy.

My sons almost a month old and was born underdeveloped. Hes gotten better at sucking but still cant hold the paci in his mouth for long. Do you have advice fora solution or recomendations on a light weight paci? At this time he treats my boobs as his pacifier. Save my nipples!

Hi Sabrina! The Evenflo Balance pacifiers are soft and light weight. The Jollyapop is also lighter. I would also recommend working with an IBCLC to work on his suck strength ❤️

Do you recommend Tommee Tippee breast like pacifier? I use the Itzy Ritzy pacifier at the moment for my two month old daughter, was thinking of trying Tommee Tippee.

Hai.. My baby is just 1 month old and he is using the cylindrical shape pacifier.. But it's makes his gum curves a bit after that but will be back to normal after a few moments .. Is that possibly will be permanent and effect on his teeth later on..?

I would reach out to someone who can take a look at your baby and see what is going on. We do offer virtual services, or you can find an IBCLC or SLP in your area.

That had just launched when we made the video and we didn't have one yet. We now have one in our office as part of our collection. It definitely can be the right pacifier for some kiddos. I'm glad you found one that works for you!
