2:36 Avoiding bright colors only applies to muted olives, not bright olives. Olive undertoned people who can be warm, cool, or neutral olive undertones in which case these systems tend not to work as they are created for the majority. You an also be neutral leaning towards one or the other and not fully on one end. Add on top of that muted (desaturated) or bright (saturated) well. Bright colors look tame on bright olives. In fact, bright coral looks like a calm blush on cool toned bright olive undertones. It all depends on where one falls in the olive spectrums.

I agree! I am very fair, but I am a bright cool toned olive. I am not muted, my skin has a very bright yellow/green undertone and my best colors are bright cool toned pinks, bright fuschia and bright oranges like Nars Heat Wave. I can also pull off the pale cool toned pink 60’s look pretty easily. Muted vs clear/bright makes a huge difference.

I am a cool olive, I have a very hard time finding Foundations because even if brands make olive foundations they make them warm olive. I look the best in cool light bright pink blushes and orangey/coral blushes look so bad on me. I dont even wear bronzer cause they all look bad:(. For highlight white/silvery highlights look better than champagne/warm gold highlights. Hope this helps cool olives. Thanks for the video ^^

Did you look at Laura Mercier for foundations. I’m medium grayish olive myself not sure if that’s cool or neutral but I find muted blushes works best for me. 🧟‍♀️I would think something bright would be more flattering but not for me. I’m still trying to find a bronzer that looks good on me. Even though I’m not too pale I love bluish highlighters but I could get away with champagne but never golds.

I think you are a Warm Olive but it is the opposite for Cool Olives (i.e. the Korean model with bright blush you mentioned). I suit red blush, pearl shimmers, purple mauves, true cool pinks. I'm Eurasian (Portuguese-Burmese) with grey-blue eyes and light olive cool-toned skin and jet-black natural hair. I don't suit corals, nudes, bronzers or dusty colours at all.

I’m also an olive (cool-ish leaning) I can really only wear rose tones (cooler & warmer) in medium range ^.^
Anything too orange/coral/pink will look very odd on me :/
Any neutral bronzers also work (nothing too cool or warm). Highlighters are champagne/gentle gold, no silvers really ^.^
Jewelry wise I think I look best in rose gold and bronze. I would choose silver over gold tho. Haha it’s super confusing having olive undertones/skin 😅

I used to wear all these light purple and cool pink shades or bright reds and it looked to awful! Completely separate from my skin! I also consider myself a warm olive and I look best in warm brownish plum or slightly yellow terracotta.
One bright colour that usually works on warm olive (but more for lips than for blush) would be orange and warm red I would say!

I highly recommend Cover FX Blush Duo in Warm Honey. It's extremely pigmented so you only need to tap your brush in lightly, but it blends out easily. You get a ton of product, you can use it matte only, or layer it with the shimmer. I use it all the time and I have acne scarring. It doesn't accentuate texture.

For sure! I am usually Nc 30-35 for Mac. I believe as long as you stick to nudist pinks or darker peachy tones, it will def itself compliment our skin tone!!! My favourite high end blush so far is Laura mercier in shade ginger - which is a nudist peachy tone kind of blush. For drugstore, I love love most of Milani’s shades under the baked blush category cause they have the darker peachy, bronze and pink tones that most of them would match our skin. I'm neutral, but yellow olive. It took me months of dedicated research to learn that, since you know...yellow is supposed to be warm, my veins are all the colors, and I didn't know what olive skin was lol
I've been told I lean cool and also that I lean warm. Nars Gobi matches me perfectly, but their shades that are a step darker (for when i'm tanned) are not olive-neutral enough. A company called EX1 is a dedicated line for olive skin; I haven't tried it but I want to!
Also, is anyone here familiar with Nars Liquid Blushes? There are 4 colors and I'm trying to figure out which are best for fair...ish olive skin?
