    It is very rare for a soccer player to still be playing professionally after 40. Goalkeepers go on the longest, usually retiring at around 37-39. Everyone else retires at around 33-36. The average age is probably about 27-28.

    I beg the guy on the left stop chatting like he knows the sport. He wouldn’t last 5 minutes in an amateur Sunday league match let alone a professional. His comments are the type that make Americans look ignorant. I don’t play basketball or American football but I respect the dedication it takes to make it as a professional. Professional football (soccer) players make a very very difficult game look easy. If you genuinely want to learn about the sport then do so with a bit of humility the guy in the middle and on the right have. Plenty of videos out there to help you understand the game which, incidentally, is the most popular sport on the planet. Anyway, respect to you guys for growing your channel 👊🏾

    Basketball is so much easier to go pro in. The court sizes are so much smaller meaning much less running needed which compared to football is nothing when you literally have to run around back and fourth for 90mins with a small 15min break in between, which for 99% of basketball players will be impossible to do. In basketball you can easily master shooting a ball in the hoop by doing it over and over from different angles however in Football its so much different as there is more players and more scenario making it difficult to score goals. In basketball there is an average of 44points in each game where in football its average of 3-4 goals per game. Football is played EVERYWHERE making it so much more difficult to be professional/ one of the best factoring the amount of leagues there are, whereas basketball is popular mainly in the USA.

    the average age is around 27-31 at a high level. the chances of being over 33 and to be playing in a top league is very low unless you’re people like Ronaldo and Zlatan. also different positions have a role to play in it for example: Attackers usually start to slow down past 31 whereas defenders can still play at a top
    level past 31, some of the best defenders in the world today are even playing at 35 and up. so it depends on the circumstances.

Handful of players like Scholes, Giggs, Modric who’s 33-34? Still one of the best. David Silva, Suarez. All above their 30s playing in top leagues. De Bruyne is 31. • @deadlydizzle7588
      @deadlydizzle7588 Před 2 lety

      @@oneshak it's simply because the game is becoming more technically advanced so players rely less on the physical attributes such as stamina. Obviously to play at the highest level you still need a high level of fitness, but you don't need to be physically incredible to make it at the top level now, instead the advantage and focus is on being technically ahead of your opponent.
      For example, Thiago Silva has never been credited with being a quick or strong, his positional awareness and reading of the game is what makes him superior. Of course, there are players who still are outstanding for their physical attributes like Adama Traore but these players are a dying breed. The players with the best longevity are those that are rely on technically ability and being technically superior because they can adapt and play at the highest level longer. Kevin De Bruyne has no outstanding physical ability, but his passing and movement is the top level and is a skill that can never leave him, he'll only decline when his basic stamina is not in the same capacity as others at the top.

  • @stiflerclaus

    It's 2% of football academy players mate. There's 30 teams in the NBA, with a roster of 15-20, but let's say 15 during season. That's 450 players playing in the NBA, which is regarded as the 'top league'.
    For European football, there are 5 major leagues, namely England, France, Spain, Italy, and Germany. Not to mention the Portuguese Primeira Liga, Dutch and Belgian leagues which are still very good.
    There are 18 teams in the German League, or Bundesliga, and the other 4 top leagues have 20 teams. Each team has a 23 man roster.
    4x20=80, plus the 18 from the Bundesliga, gives us a grand total of 98 teams. 98x23 = 2254 players in total for the squads, and that is just the top 5 leagues. Not to mention the relegation and promotion aspect of the leagues from each nation, who have 2-3 lower leagues that teams can either be relegated or promoted to-and-fro from. It is undeniably significantly more difficult to go pro in football.
    Europe has a population of 358.9 million males. 2254 out of those 358.9 million are pro in one of Europe's top 5 leagues. Meaning that 0.0000062803% of European males, not to mention the fact that the top 5 leagues has players from all around the world.
    Furthermore, there is an estimated 113 000 registered professional football players around the world, meaning that of those 113 000 registered players, which does not include academy players, that 0.019% of all professional footballers play in the top 5 leagues of Europe.

I think the reason it said average age in your search is because there's a lot of players in that 30 -35 age bracket
