    Guys the Clone Z-95 is a variant of the Z-95. With that being said it’s not going to look the entirely the same nor was it meant to. The regular z-95 was 11.8 meters long. The Clone variant was larger at 16.74 meters long so the scale is correct. The Z-95 also sported a hyperdrive where as the clone variant did not a again this is why they look thinner.

    It’s good that they look different because the republic z-95 is basically a whole different ship aesthetically speaking

  • @Azrii1
    @Azrii1 Před 2 lety +3

    In universe the clone z95 is a variant of the normal one specifically made for the GAR. So yes, the sculpt is correct for the ship it is.

  • @josephmoberly2109
    @josephmoberly2109 Před 2 lety +7

    Yeah it is interesting that they are different sizes. I’d have to do some research but the first things I pulled up said they were the same size. If anything the original z95s are too small. An xwing is about 12 meters wide and a z95 is 18 meters, so this model seems more to scale than the old one

    • @mrjediknight
      @mrjediknight Před 2 lety +1

      The original Z95 is based on the legends version of the ship which is a lot smaller than the republic version.

    • @iplaydodgeball
      @iplaydodgeball Před 2 lety +1

      @@mrjediknight the rebel z-95 has since been re-canonized in comics. They are simply two different ships that share the same name, with the republic version being a variant made specifically for the clones. Hence why it's called "Clone Z-95"

  • @nicotwolo8159
    @nicotwolo8159 Před 2 lety

    The reason why there is so much confusion around the size of this ship is because people don't read entire pages of information. Wookiepepedia acknowledges different sizes of the rebel z95 and clone variant. There are two sources for this, but it just assumes the the newest is the right one (for whatever reason). From the z95 page of wookiepedia:"While Poe Dameron: Flight Log says the length of the Z-95 is 16.74 meters,[3] Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 59 says the ship is only 11.8 meters long.[10] This article assumes the former is correct"

  • @RedXlV
    @RedXlV Před rokem

    The Clone Z-95 (I wonder why it's never been giving a canon model number) and the Z-95-AF4 are two different models within the Z-95 Headhunter line. So it makes perfect sense that they went with an all-new sculpt for this mini. In Legends there were at least a dozen official Z-95 variants. In the Disney canon, the AF4 and Clone models are the only ones seen so far, but it's still mentioned that a lot of other variants exist. We just don't know what they look like or what they're called. (The original Z-95 Mark I is *probably* canon, since by inference the vast majority of the Han Solo novel trilogy has been restored to canon.)

    I've been debating whether or not to get this pack. The sculpts are amazing, but they feel too big to fit. They're significantly larger than a t-65 x wing, and I'm just not sure if they're the right scale.

    • @EliWintercross
      @EliWintercross Před 2 lety +2

      Yeah, they shouldn't be so big, it's a Z95, the body should be almost identical to the Rebel Z95.

    • @patrickg3759
      @patrickg3759 Před 2 lety +2

      @@EliWintercross so I looked at wookiepedia and the clone z95 should be the same size as the regular one, and those are actually a couple meters longer and wider than an x wing. So the clone z95 is extremely out of spec.

    • @mrjediknight
      @mrjediknight Před rokem +2

      @@patrickg3759 The rebel and scum z95 are based on the legend measurements which according to wookiepedia are 11m long. In Cannon the clone z95 is 16.75m long and 18.12m wide. Wookiepedia have used these measurements for the canon regular z95 as well. In comparison an xwing is 12.5 m long. The models seem to be the right size based on the canon measurements.

    The amount of people in the comment section not understanding that the Clone Z-95 and the rebel Z-95's are two different variants of the same ship type is bothering me lol. The Clone Z-95 literally showed up in RotS. The Z-95 type (the one seen with the rebel and scum factions) had entered production at the start of the clone wars and was a frequent target for modification. The Clone Army/Republic Navy basically had their own version of one built from the ground up specifically to suit their needs, hence why it looks so different from the standard Z-95 type and more like the rest of the Republic fleet, larger size included.

    Seems to be alot of comments wondering about the size difference, The wiki lists the length of both the Z-95 and clone Z-95 as being 16.74 with a width of 18.12 and 18.13 respectively so no the size difference is not because the clone varient is canonically bigger although it is a shade wider, Amg's most likely reason for the size increase was to increase the cost, I honestly love the thing but 80aud for the box is a bit extreme considering how many you would need to field

    Believe it or not, because of the stats of the craft, dad wasn't interested in picking this up at first. But after seeing some of the exclusive cards that came with it (the homing torpedoes), it peaked our interest. We're still thinking of when to get this pack btw, though I can say "it'll be worth it." I mean, the opponent having a choice between potential of 4 damage die or a crit damage, that's pretty powerful.

      In the case of the Silencer, FFG had no idea how big it should be, they were working from preliminary sketches when designing the ship. In this case they know exactly how big the Clone variant should be, we can therefore assume the scaling with other ships is correct. To my eye, having the old and new in hand, it does seem too big
