    Biostatistics questions about Absolute Risk Reduction (ARR), Attributable risk (AR) and Number Needed to Harm (NNH) can be very confusing on the USMLE Step 1. In this video I'll walk you through two UWorld questions and break them down in a simple way, so keep watching!

    ARR- treatment is protective, less event rate
    so, Ec-Et
    AR- treatment is harmful, more event rate
    so, Et-Ec
    Event rate= a/a+b
    NNT=1/ARR
    NNH=1/AR
    NNH=higer number, safer drug
    NNT=Lower number, safer drug

      Use First Aid biostats and NBMEs, read UWorld explanations for the biostat questions. That was enough for me
