- This is a high-yield review of biostats & public health for Step 1 and Step 2 CK. We discuss study design, measures of association, confidence intervals, p-values, and bias.

So many make teaching videos , but not too much excell , U r one of thoes who make everything so clear, cuz u start Explaining things from A to Z .
You have been great in explaining the stuff but I am a bit confused with the naming of boxes as true negative at 23 min 40 sec mark as disease positive and disease negative along with test + and test - .This will give us following results.
a=TP
b=FP
c=FN
d= TN according to the 2x2 table interpretation.
Please clarify that for me.
Let me know if I am not clarifying properly, but these were just two examples of how 2x2 tables can be used. Generally when discussing risk/odds ratios the disease/exposure is the comparison whereas with sensitivity/specificity the true/test positive is the comparison. It was just meant to illustrate how the same table can be used to answer different questions. So your TP, FP, FN, and TN categories were correct but this would be specific to the sensitivity/specificity example where True +/- is on the top and Test +/- is on the left side of the table. This same principle would not apply to the example when disease vs. exposure is the comparison. I hope this helps somewhat!

Can you do a part 2, where you include things like Cost Benifit analysis and related topics? (Sensitivity analysis, Cost utility, QALY, DALY, etc...)
That is a great suggestion, definitely some topics I can incorporate into a QI/QC type video!
@@Doctor_Tim Thank you doctor. I am in medical school and surprisingly (or surprising to me) This topic (plus biostats) is worth 11% of my total grade from year 1 and year 2 of medical school and a substantial part of my Step 1 Exam. Its become a huge topic in medical school.
